After meeting with Nick DiNatalie in early November, we were looking for someone to prepare our…read more2025 tax return. Following our initial meeting, we felt he would be a good fit. He then requested a $550 retainer upfront, something we had never been asked to pay by any of our previous accountants. Unfortunately, that initial meeting was the only time we met with him. He would not scheduled a follow-up or an appointment to review the documents we were providing. Instead, he sent us a lengthy tax organizer that required us to complete much of the work ourselves. When we asked questions, we often did not receive direct answers. When we questioned why so much of the organizer needed to be completed by us, his response was, "It would cost a lot more if I had to do it." Isn't that your job? We also found the office to be somewhat disorganized, and his comments about his younger staff did little to inspire confidence in the level of support we could expect. Ultimately, we decided to have our taxes prepared elsewhere. To his credit, he did file an extension and is refunding $375 of the retainer. However, we were disappointed with the amount he chose to retain, given our overall experience. Overall, the experience fell well short of our expectations. We were looking for clear guidance, direct answers, and professional service. Instead, we felt that much of the responsibility for preparing our return had been left to us. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this firm.

Just recently I had to contact Tom Ruane about a problem with my Social Security Account missing…read morerevenue that was supposed to be posted by the IRS between 1996 - 2016. He had done the business taxes for me during that time period. I offered to pay him for his time, but he said it would just take a few days to gather everything that related to me and send along. I recommend Tom Ruane very highly, he did excellent work for me in the past, and now helping me with this new problem, even though its been years since he had done work for me. Great guy and such a relief he can help me with this.

I took my taxes in, and within 5 minutes Tom had discovered the error I made while using TurboTax.... Ouch. This location is horrible!! Parking is terrible also. You walk in, there is ALWAYS a huge line of…read morepeople waiting to be assisted. In the past three days, I have been here three different times because of the long lines. The office is open Monday thru Friday - 8:30 am to 4:30 pm; and close for lunch every day from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Expect to wait a very long time. They have a ticket system in place, like the RMV, where you pick a number and wait. However, the wait times are much longer than at a very busy RMV. I arrived today 90 minutes after the office was opened and they stopped issuing tickets. They said they'd resume issuing tickets at 1PM, however, would not be able to start things back up until after they have had their one hour lunch break. These people don't even work a full 8-hour day and it's backed up in less then a very short amount of time in the morning. If you expect to arrive after 2PM, turn back because they stop issuing tickets around then so they can leave by 4:30pm. This is a horrible office and the principles - the method in which business is conducted is pathetic. When you do get a chance to speak with some of the staff, they are generally helpful and friendly. I'm not knocking the people, I'm knocking the IRS and the method in which they conduct the business at this office, which is horrible.

I had to convince them to do my vehicle as "actual expenses" instead of the flat rate per mile. And wow, it worked out to be twice as big a deduction doing it the right way. But the big issue is that they managed to make my income about 33% less than it should have been. I told them at the time that it seemed very low, and they just brushed me off. Now a year later, I owe a ton to the IRS because I WAY underpaid my estimated taxes. And I re-did my last years taxes in TurboTax, and using the name numbers I came out with much higher income. Moral of the story: its really not that hard to do your own taxes, don't be foolish and overpay these clowns to do them.

I would for sure recommend this office to family and friends.

Angela and her staff are approachable, patient, and empathetic to your circumstances. I don't know about you but taxes are intimidating to me. Angela set me at ease from the start and it was clear to me I was in good hands. What I appreciate most from my interactions with Angela is her integrity - she was not rushing to sign me up as a customer, i.e., charge a fee to prepare a tax return. Instead, she collected some information and advised it would be more cost effective for me to continue doing my own taxes - this said a lot. It turns out that after some life changes, I did need CPA help and I went back to Angela for consultation and guidance. Working with Angela and her staff was a pleasure.
