Our Christmas experience with Dr. Elad…read more My partner had been Dr Elad's patient for approximately one year. He will have to face open heart surgery due to Elad's oversight (in my opinion). My partner's life was saved only by an amazing team of doctors at Eisenhower in Palm Springs. We were very lucky to have been there over the holidays. My partner is young and will now have irreversible damages to his body. I had been with my partner during the office visits, and I can attest to Elad's conduct. Not only had Dr. Elad been impolite, combative and lackadaisical with his diagnosis he also dismissed my partner's complains of heart palpitations. At the last office visit in late November, Dr Elad said that "there is nothing he can do" and that my partner "had to live with that condition." On top of it he forgot to listen to my partner's heart. Three weeks later we desperately called Dr. Elad for help. My partner had gained 20 pounds of water weight and complained of shortness of breath. Dr Elad suggested either to wait until after the holidays to see him, or go to the emergency room in Palm Springs. We chose the emergency room and it was the right choice over doctor Elad. Dr Elad had not followed up with us since.

It's been five (5) months since my last updated post. I received a strange call recently asking…read morewhy I sent my UCLA internist an envelope with Pet Scan CD Roms busted in half inside an envelope mailed from a Santa Monica mail center. They said the return address label had my name with a Santa Monica mail center address and it was mailed from that location. I told them I never mailed anything; have never lived nor had any mailing address in Santa Monica; have been living out of State since last year and that for the last 1.5 years I've been waiting for my CD roms to be corrected with a proper DICOM format to be either sent to my Westwood mailing address or available for my in person pickup. There are clearly several demonic staff members who work for Mark Urman MD at play here; someone actually did something like that from his offices or his lab; his entire staff belongs in the garbage. He should fire them all including the nasty uncooperative Monica in the Cardiac Lab (she called security when I walked in for the fourth time asking for my CD roms because they would not give them to me properly formatted). While Mark Urman is considered to be a very good physician (therefore the two stars); you will struggle with his staff; his office manager and his additional desk staff inside Cardiac Imaging Nuclear Associates Lab. You will have to fight to receive your nuclear medical scans even if you write Mark Urman, MD a fax or letter. They must not give them to him or he just ignores your letters and faxes. If it had been disclosed to me in the very beginning his practice uses a "private nuclear lab" that Cedars Sinai Medical Center has no access to; I would have considered that problematic and not stayed in his medical practice. It is very hard to determine if they try sabotaging an exiting patient at his request or if the staff is trying to sabotage Mark Urman, MD. The lack of being able to exit any medical practice with privacy of where and who you are going to next for your medical care with CD roms of imaging you already paid a lot of money for due to a decade of concierge fees; this would cause me to steer clear of any medical practice that would do this to you. I will follow up with yet another updated review once I know my current physican was able to actually read what was sent by Cardiac Imaging Nuclear Associates into the UCLA electronic system as for my Cardiac Pet Scans. That appointment is not near anytime soon. In the meantime, I'm not a disgruntled difficult patient and was at this medical practice over 10 years. The nasty staff problems began once I tried to leave the practice due to unaffordability going forward. The newest physician offered to me for same price I had been paying I felt was not a good fit for me with bedside manner after seeing him once when Mark Urman MD was not in the office.

Thirteen years ago I was diagnosed with Inflammatory Arthritis, unknown cause. Eighteen months…read morelater, after working with a number of Specialist to rule out possibilities for my symptoms, I received a diagnosis of Mycoplasma Pneumonia. Most people exposed to Mycoplasma Pneumonia clear the infection. In my case I was unable to clear the infection, which required long term/maintenance doses of antibiotics. After 5 symptom free years I had a relapse and over a 2 year period I only was able to partially clear the infection. I decided to find an Infectious Medicine Specialist who could effectively treat Mycoplasma infection. The CDC recognizes Mycoplasma as causing a number of serious complications. In my case it manifested itself as causing a severe reactive allergic response. I initially developed inflammatory arthritis of the hips thighs and buttocks. But as the infection was left untreated the symptoms progressed to chronic fatigue symptom, pleurisy, neurological problems and fainting. These complications may seem unrelated to a Specialist reviewing my case. However its important to understand as the bacterial load increases due to an infection that is not properly treated, the symptoms manifest themselves over time and increase in severity. And as my body tries to combat this infection my body weakens and I become prone to sinus and respiratory infections, in both the number and severity. This pattern has repeated itself over the course of my 13 year battle with this disease, due partly to the fact that Mycoplasma can be very difficult to completely clear. Its also a disease that is fairly common, so re-infection to the disease can occur. Once the Mycoplasma Pneumonia infection is treated properly the bacterial load is reduced or driven in remission, then all complications start to lessen eventually clearing, providing me a higher quality of life. Its unfortunate but the last few years trying to bring a team of competent Specialist to protect my overall health and treat this Mycoplasma infection has been a failure. I have never met any Specialist in my 13 year old battle of this Mycoplasma case who fully understands this disease. This has resulted in a negative impact on my health, especially over the last 2 1/2 years. Upon my initial visit with Dr. Huynh it was important for him to understand my Mycoplasma illness and how this disease can increase my exposure to respiratory illness, especially due to my past history of sinus and respiratory infections. I needed his support to address any respiratory infections I may have in the future. I also have had periodic asthma attacks over the last 30 years requiring asthma medicine albuteral, as needed. But after respiratory testing was completed by him and review of my case I received a call from a staff member that his conclusion was I don't have asthma and I needed to consult an allergist to address my other symptoms. I have had extensive allergy testing in the past. This diagnosis is a complete disconnect from my health history and current health problems. Mycoplasma Pneumonia test results over time: Per Quest Diagnostics; Interpretive criteria: 0.90 Negative 0.91-1.09 Equivocal 1.10 Positive A positive IgG antibody result indicates that the patient has antibody to Mycoplasma. It does not differentiate between an active or past infection. The clinical diagnosis must be interpreted in conjunction with the clinical signs and symptoms of the patient. Interpretive criteria: 770 U/mL Negative 770-950 U/mL Low positive 950 U/mL Positive A positive IgM antibody result is consistent with recent infection. However, a negative result does not necessarily rule out recent infection as some individuals may not mount another IgM response, if previously infected.
