Since writing this review I have received a polite and professional letter from Dr. Korwin's office. My intention in writing reviews is never to steer away potential clients but to provide my unbiased reviews of my experience with businesses I visit. With that being said... Although unacceptable, I do feel strongly that my experience with Dr. Korwin was a one off situation and he is in business to provide quality dental care. From my research I do feel he is an expert in his field. It is unfortunate that I have made up in my mind to go with another dentist and will not be able to appreciate his expertise first hand. However, if you are a potential client of Dr. Korwin I encourage you to get your own opinions on his practice and defer from basing your decision solely off my comments. My recent experience in Dr. Korwin's office was beyond phenomenal. I've been terrified of dentists since I was little, yet after this visit my fear is gone! I came for cleaning and a general check-up. The staff was friendly and helpful, gentle and attentive. My each tooth was examined carefully and I was given a list of advice on the further treatment. Also I finally received a detailed and personalized step-by-step explanation of the procedure for teeth straightening - I've been consulting with various doctors for years and I was never given enough information to make up my mind. THE OLD BAIT AND SWITCH. - I Went to Dr. Korwin's with a mold of my mouth (from another dentist) because I was noticing my alignment was shifting and had a little discomfort. He thoroughly examined my mouth, took x-rays, measured, took pictures and suggested invisalign as a good option. After the exam, his secretary came in with a quoted price and asked if I could afford it. It was a little high, but I didn't think I could afford not to so I agreed on a payment plan. The prep for invisalign took four months due to other things that needed to be done to my mouth; cleaning and crown repair - at additional cost. In this four months I drove to his office over an hour each way, sometimes in horrific weather. The day came to see a computer image of how my teeth would look in the end. I was very excited, but that excitement quickly turned to exasperation when I was told it was now going to cost an additional $1300. Still puzzled as to why...I was never told my previous quote was an 'estimate." I asked him several time to please honor his original price, in good faith, but he flatly refused. The way I see it a quote is a quote. I simply cannot afford an additional $1300 and would never have wasted either of our time at that cost. . I am guessing he thought I already spent four months that I would automatically just fork over an additional $1300. I was looking forward to fabulous results with a lifelong dental relationship which is why I am deeply crushed and disappointed by this turn of events. He did return partial payment for my dental records, which I guess is a good thing - but I wasted four months of my time on this. In the end, this dentist is on the long list of dentists I mistrust. I came in for an x-ray and a cleaning, standard check-up. I am very satisfied with this practice. The staff is extremely courteous and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire experience. Sally, the dental hygienist, was thorough and professional. And Dr. Zach Korwin answered all my questions and really seemed concerned and conscientious. He also joked around with me a bit which made me feel at ease. In general, I very much dislike going to the dentist, but this may have changed my mind. I went in today with an initial visit for cleaning. They REFUSED to do anything until talking to my primary doctor, which I don't have one. I have been thru many surgeries, 4 since March for spinal injections. They wasted an hour of my time just to tell me they won't even look at me without talking to a doctor, that doesn't exist. I had gone to Dr. Korwin for dental work for since I was about 10 or 11 years old ( I am now in my thirties). He is very straight forward, and always requires what is best option for his dental work. He will not offer the cheapest solution if it is not the best choice, but does try to work with his patients. (Honestly, I only want the best, so I would rather pay more for the best option.) He is also amazing with anxious patients. I was, and still am, a very anxious patient and Dr. Korwin is hands down the only choice I would make for my dental needs. He offers various methods to reduce a patient's stress level. The office staff is also top notch. The secretaries are always polite, as are the hygienists. I am always left smiling and laughing when I am leaving the office. Which is something very difficult to do when the patient is a person who get's so worked up about the dentist . read more

5 stars isn't enough. Let me start off by saying I'm active duty Army and have been for over 11 years now. With that being said I've seen both Army and civilian dentists all over the country from North Carolina to Georgia to Oklahoma to Hawaii and New Jersey and Dr. Korwin is by far the best I've seen out of them all. I went to Dr. Korwin's while I was visiting family on pcs leave. My teeth were ridiculously sensitive (funny since the Army gave me a clean bill of health not even 2 months prior). So I swung through Dr. Korwin's for a quick check up.  He was highly recommended by my family and friends in NJ. It turns out I had 4 cavities which the Army dentists had told me they were "watching" for the past 3 years ("watch" is fancy speak for ignore). When I first sat down in the chair Dr. Korwin's hygienist asked me when my last cleaning was, " two or three years ago?" She asked... I laughed and responded, "no ma'am, not even two months ago." Now, I'm a red blooded, God fearing freedom fighting machine. My job in the US Army? I jump out of airplanes and blow shit up! I put warheads on foreheads and rounds on frowns and dear God do I love my job!!  I run purely on coffee, beer, bourbon, bacon and freedom!! So I consider some staining or yellowing of my teeth as a necessary consequence to fuel my awesome lifestyle and the long hours involved.  When I explained this to the hygienist she giggled and got to work. After my hour long cleaning my teeth were a ridiculous white. Not whitish or off white or white in the right light but bare albino ass during a full moon on a cloudless night white!! So white they'd blind you in the middle of the night white! So with that I was immediately impressed. But then came the Dr. Let me preface this by saying I had a pretty horrible experience at the dentist when I was 10 years old. You see, the dentist I had seen back then decided to get the novacane needle stuck in my lower jaw. And not just a little stuck, but seriously stuck, stuck to the point where he was pulling with all his might and had his foot on the dental chair for leverage... like trying to start an old lawnmower. So because of this, I hate novocane needles, to the point where I will usually skip the novocane and just muscle through the filling. I told this to Dr Korwin and he told me not to worry, that he has a developed a new method. People, I didn't even feel the novocane needle pinch or anything. With that being said, he got to work. All I can say is he was so calm and quiet that I actually started to fall asleep while he was working on my teeth. He actually stopped at one point to wake me up. What I also thought was really cool is the camera they use to take pictures. Once he drilled out all of the decay he showed me the cavities, both before and after he completed the filling. I thought that was awesome. But the best part was the bill. Dr Korwin wrote off the cleaning and exam and only charged tricare (military insurance) for the cost of the fillings themselves. On top of that, he didn't even charge me for the copay, he wrote that off as well! To wrap things up in my rambling story, everyone who works at Dr Korwin's was incredibly polite and professional. If I had my way I would go there every time for dental work. I apologize for the length of my review, I felt to need to write such an in depth review because I was so incredibly impressed. I have had a very bad experience with this dental practice which I feel should be exposed. My wife and I have both gone to Dr. Korwin for dental work. During one of my wife's dental procedures they began to reduce the amount that my current dental policy reimbursement was giving them and they began to "OVERCHARGE" ME FOR SERVICES.(my dental policy pays 80% and they began to bill as if the insurance was only covering 60% and charging my wife the additional 20%) When I discovered this they never refunded me the "OVERPAYMENT" they just kept the money. My experience was that I went to him for a root canal and cap which Dr. Korwin was in agreement with. After getting the root canal the Dr. REFUSED to finish the job because I was not willing to go for the more expensive procedure. I was just willing to finish the current job OF GETTING THE TOOTH CAP. IN MY OPINION Dr. Korwin is completely unprofessional, he is only interested in treating you if you are willing to pay for services that you don't want or can't afford. I really wanted to write a good review and wanted to reverse the first one but I'm sorry I really can't . Today I had an early 7:30 appointment which last for may be 15 or 20 min maximum , half of that time was interrogation from the doctor , blaming me on why i wrote a bad review about my last visit , I tried to be nice and just really wasnt in the mood to argue or make a conversation or discussion from any kind , I went to have the teeth which were done I'm not saying in a bad way , but it was just a weird feeling I had of roughness , the doctor was asking me to point at those teeth and when I did , he was telling me that he Didnt do work in there , and even if he Didnt the whole point is may be making me look stupid or if I was lying abt it , im not familiar with my teeth with numbers and when you have teeth done next to each other in the far back and you feel weird after you have a procedure done sometimes you can't really address the exact surface , I even couldn't floss between the teeth I had done and he did notice tht the floss breaks when it goes between the teeth . I just wanted to have tht weird feeling go away , not being interrogated and questioned for the review I wrote , I have nothing against his person or his profession at all and im sure he is a good doctor , but in the last 2 visits , he wasnt good to me I spent around 1200 dollars in 3 visits and I was willing for more untill I'm done . There was a lady in the office , it's like she was writing the conversation between me and the doctor and when he asked me about the pain I had last time , I told him yes alittle pain and thts just because I wanna cut off the conversation and part of being nice and im not an early morning person especially in my day off and then he repeated a little pain ?! And it's like he is telling me , but you wrote it was painful ??? Finally , I'm talking about my experience only and wht I felt the last 4 visit (including this) the first 2 were good the 3d started good ended bad and the 4th when I got blamed for writing the review , I'm not going back to dr korwin office although I really wanted to continue untill I'm done and was willing to refer immediate relatives and friends , if you a potential client to doctor korwin get your own opinion and don't build your decision on my comments or anybody else comments , I'm sure he is a good doctor and he is out there to provide good dental care and regarding the rip off part i wrote in the last review I didnt mean it , its just because i got handled another treatmrnt plan after the one i got the first time ( after having full X-rays) and its just i believe was lack of communication from the doctor and the staff side , if i were told that the doctor wanted my gum to heal first and then decide wht to do with the front teeth i wont get frustrated and wrote what i wrote In last review , i know you are a private doctor and I know tht dental care is costly, and i was willing to have things done and even more . I found Dr. Korwin because I was researching cosmetic dentist near in my area. I went for my first visit to get a full set of x rays and my mouth examined. I went back for the consultation to review the output and financials. He is out of my network but I was eager to get my teeth on the right track to where I want them to be, so I proceeded. I had my first official visit today where he was supposed to do several fillings on my front upper teeth. When he came in, I asked him two questions. One of which was, 'Will the brown spot in between my front two teeth that is from the cavity be removed once we fill it and if not what can I do to eliminate it?'. In his response he said my teeth have very poor coloring to begin with. He continued on with attitude and rude comments. I said I wasn't trying to challenge him because I truly felt like it had become an argument. He asked if I still wanted to proceed because I seemed upset. After laying in the chair for a few minutes, I decided it wasn't worth it. I had never felt so uncomfortable with a doctor before. No matter how may degrees, how much experience, or how good he is at his practice, it just isn't worth being treated that way. I would never recommend this dentist to anyone. I had already expressed in my prior visit that I wasn't happy with my teeth in their current state and that's why I was willing to pay out of pocket for a cosmetic dentist and knowing that he still proceeded to through out those comments. Prior to my visit, Dr. Korwin called to introduce himself and asked if I had any concerns or questions about my scheduled appointment. When I arrived at the office, the receptionist, Carol, warmly welcomed me. Before the end of my visit, Carol, also thoroughly investigated my insurance coverage. I arrived somewhat early for my appointment and was actually taken into the hygienist's room earlier than my scheduled appointment. Denise, the hygienist, was exceptionally friendly and gentle when performing all the services. Denise provided me with very comprehensive and educational dental information. Dr. Korwin also examined my teeth and mouth and again asked if I had any concerns or questions before the end of this first visit. I truly enjoyed my visit with Dr. Korwin and his staff. This was the best experience I have ever had in a dental office. I would highly recommend Dr. Korwin and his staff for their professionalism, kindness, and patient manner. read more
