I am very pleased with Robert Half recruiters. Sheetal Dhingra and Theresa Cardoza helped me find the perfect job. They spent time knowing what I am looking for and finding the exact match position. Morevoer they also helped negotiate a fair salary. Took one star off because once in a while I had to wait few days before I get the response from them. However when they responded they definitely had something to offer. Tell me a little about yourself and what you are looking for ME: I recently moved to the city, 10 years experience in a specific industry, an MBA and 6 years management experience. All are 3 month contract ME: Did you look at my resume before calling me I find it astonishing that for position (2) that company reached out to me directly and offered $18+/hr. I'm assuming that they have to meet their monthly leads quotas. The difference between RH and other head hunters is that they don't charge you a heavy fee to link you with a company. I've had two experiences with Robert Half and both in person interviews were good, but the end result was ABYSMAL. The first interview was at their San Jose, Ca office in 2009, and it was a total bait-and-switch. I applied for a 6 month contract with Cisco, and they called me in for an interview and offered me a 2-week contract with a small business. I politely told him that I wasn't going to quit my full-time job with benefits for a 2 week contract, but I would consider a 3-month contract to hire position if it was right. He said ok, and called me back a couple days later with another position, a 3-month contract. The only issue I had with it was that it was too far away, and he acted like he had offered me hundreds of offers and I turned them all down. I immediately got a bad taste in my mouth about this company from that interview. The second interview was last month in the Oakland, Ca office with a different recruiter. I told her that I had a bad experience with the previous recruiter and she was very apologetic about my experience. During the interview, she was exceptional. She was nice, professional, and explained a lot more about the whole recruitment process that the previous man. I left the interview feeling very good. When I got home, I did everything she asked me to do during the interview, including making a few changes to my resume and adding her on Linkedin. I e-mailed her my updated resume and asked for her input. I didn't hear back from her for almost a month. In fact, she never responded to my e-mails. It was only when I e-mailed one of her bosses that she finally got back to me. She claims she never got my e-mail, so I sent it to her again. Still no reply. I sent her another message via Linkedin yesterday, still no reply. I refuse to believe that they are just too busy to check messages and e-mails. The least they could do is e-mail me back with some BS and say that they are hard at work checking out clients for me, but I can't even get that. I'm gonna keep my eyes and ears open for them, but I'm not holding my breathe. So far, Robert Half is 0-2 in my book. read more

Applied for a position listed online. Had a recruiter call me 30 minutes later about two other opportunities that I did not have the qualifications for. Never heard from anyone after that. Went to update my info on their site. Tried to have my username sent to me. If you click on either 'forgot username' or 'forgot password', it sends you to the reset password page. After entering a new password, all I ever get is, "An error happened while resetting your password. Please try again later." Sent an email requesting help. No response. As far as I'm concerned, RHT is just a bunch of incompetent sales people. Run away! read more

All I want to say about this company is.......nice building. BUT I find them slow and unprofessional. I never met the woman who called me, Carolyn. I met her manager and protegee but they never called me back to complete an interview by phone like they said. I got pulled off the job they got me interested in because I went around them and emailed that company a nice note. I was told (after being transferred twice) by Heather that I was under-qualified to work a $9 and hour job. My parking ticket was never validated, wasn't given proper directions and wasn't completed by staff until it was too late. Absolutely no follow up for the past month. Found a job posting yesterday by this RH firm that matched my qualifications. Applied via the posting. Called in and spoke to Gaby again. She said she couldn't find my resume. Emailed my resume directly to her, and before I could say another word she immediately dismissed my candidacy. Did you even read my resume??? Told me the client is looking for biopharma background when the post said the client is in tech. Tells me I'm too junior. That's fine. The post should've been more detailed as to how many years experience was required. Then she tells me she's going to transfer me to one of her teammates to better assist me, but lo and behold I get hung up on. An honest mistake perhaps? Well, I called back only to find that I'm getting the runaround between the operator and Gaby's answering machine. Unprofessional. You're messing with someone's livelihood here. Just wish you could at least be honest if you don't have the sincerity to help. read more

I worked for Office Team in San Mateo and had a much much much better experience than I did with the San Jose office. They placed me on a job with a company who treated their employees very poorly. They had 3-4 other temps there, and we were all paid drastically different rates. I was doing more work than my colleagues, and when I asked about a pay raise, they told me it was out of the question. When I brought up the issue about different pay rates, Robert (the recruiter) scolded me for discussing my pay with my colleagues. It wasn't until I threatened to quit that they decided to go ahead and approve a pay raise, but it was too little too late, as I received a permanent offer from a better company. When I gave them notice, they told me to just make that my last day, and didn't inform me when the agency I was working for asked me to complete the week. They told the client I was coming in, but told me they didn't want me back, so I ended up looking bad to their client (which is fine because their client was horrible, too). I wouldn't recommend Robert Half to anyone, especially this office. They treat their temps like they're useless, and their lack of communication is astonishing. Try Apple One. I have dealt with many temp agencies during my career and this OfficeTeam has the worst Account Manager I've ever dealt with. At first, my initial experience with my Account Manager, Renee, was good and she seemed professional and responsible. She said that she would call me the next day (on a Friday) and let me know the details about an interview she would set up for me for that next week. I didn't hear back from her at all until Monday morning, where she proceeded to tell me that I missed my 8am interview and made her look bad. I told her that I had not heard back from her since our meeting last week and she then tells me it was my fault for not following up with her. I've never had to "follow up" with any the Account Managers I've had at other agencies. I never heard from her again after that call and I really hope that I never hear from her again. So unless you like calling your Account Manager multiple times a day to "follow up," find another temp agency. read more

The job opportunity they spoke with me about paid a lot less than what I'm used to, but I was still interested in interviewing. However, we didn't even get that far. Office Team did not call me back. I had to call them. Then I was told the company wanted someone with more experience in that particular field. Understandable. Even though I've handled multi-billion dollar accounts as an Account Rep LOL It made me wonder how they pitched me to the company. If I could give this office a -5 I would. I started a job in the union city area and I was told it was temp to perm. The account manager and his assistant I feel lied about everything Not only did they misrepresent the job which I was told it was temp to perm. I feel they down right lied to me about it. They put words in their clients mouth, I was told by the client she never told them that it was temp to perm. I even lost out on another temp to perm job because they came back with an offer first and pushed me on it. There was also the fact they told me temp to perm for 3 months then I would be converted. Their client told me she never agreed to that. The sad part is that they can't or won't take responsibility for the miscommunication if that what it really was. I was told it's the clients fault. Well I told them the job was being advertised on indeed and I would have thought they would have confirmed, well they said they did and that the client stopped looking when I started.
