The office also gave me a quote for six fillings (although I had all my dental work done by another dentist just a couple of months prior and was told that I didn't have any cavities). Because they quoted me a low price, I agreed. About a month later, I started receiving numerous calls and texts stating that I had almost $500 I had not paid. When I inquired about the additional costs, I was told that my insurance wouldn't cover it; however, they had my dental insurance and should have told me about this when I was quoted the original cost because I would never have agreed to the procedures, especially since I'm not even sure if I had additional cavities. I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Auburn Opelika Dental. It is the worst dental experience I have ever had.

People complained about the wait but the wait wasn't bad at all, it went exceptionally fast compared to going to a regular doctor appointment. People complained that they felt like a product going down an assembly line and I didn't feel that way at all. There's different rooms and areas for different reasons, just like a doctor office. People complained that they were pushing them for different products but all they did was inform me on different options they had for different budgets. I also saw people complaining about they got charged a bill after but they inform you that upfront that if your dental insurance doesn't cover all the costs then you are responsible for that and that's the same as anywhere else, if you ask me. The whole staff was super helpful and friendly. I have anxiety when it comes to dentists but they made me relaxed and calm the whole time. I had my whole top pulled and dentures put in within 30 minutes and the pain after wasn't bad at all. People complained about all they give us antibiotics and ibuprofen but they work well enough to me to manage my pain so I don't see an issue with that at all. The staff are ALWAYS kind, helpful and they have always (yes, always) remembered me and my name. They are knowledgeable in each area of their respective job whether it be insurance, scheduling, etc., or dental/gum, i.e., oral health needs. I've been using Judy Simon for my dental hygienist since about 1990 and she is knowledgeable in so many ways. Dr. Yount professionally demonstrates knowledge of what the patient's needs are, provides the service needed and refers when he is unable to provide the needed service (very important!). Laura has been the person "at the front" with whom I have dealt since 1990 also - knows all about coverage, etc and is ALWAYS professional while making me "feel like family". Wendy is relatively new to me but has also met my needs in every way pleasantly and professionally. All staff behave professionally while also making me at ease and like "part of their family".
