You will continously get their answering machine telling you their hours of operation and are told to leave a message. But they do not return your call promptly. Once I finally get my son's prescription, we will not be returning. Over it.

First off, I want to be clear when I say that I WANT to like Waterbury Eyecare because of the…read morefollowing: 1. great selection of frames 2. really nice/friendly/competent dr. 3. clean/cheery office space in the heart of Waterbury However, it's extremely hard to like and recommend an eye care center that has a receptionist with zero understanding of customer service. Months ago, I arrived for my second eye exam with the facility only to be told that they couldn't find my insurance information. Having visited before and having no changes in my information, this didn't make sense. Rather than try to sort it out, the receptionist told me I could either call the insurance company or pay out of pocket for the day. (No thank you to both, but a little assistance would have been nice.) I made a new appointment for several months later, and went on my way. Flash forward to today: a snowy Vermont day where road conditions aren't ideal. Being that I was running about 5-7 minutes behind, I called the office. I called. And I called. And I called. On the third call, I left a message (seriously questioning if they were even open because who doesn't answer a business phone during normal hours of operation?) Anyway, I arrived today to see the receptionist outside shoveling. I waited in line at the reception desk for about ten minutes, and when she finally got to me she informed me that I was 20 minutes late and would need to reschedule. When I gently informed her that I wasn't that late and had been waiting while she shoveled, she then blatantly lied to me and said she had been in the office just two minutes ago. Incorrect. (Also, why are you lying? You're an adult.) I let her know that I had called several times and she said "if I had answered the phone I would have told you to reschedule." Um..... shouldn't answering the phone be a priority? I understand the importance of shoveling as well, but perhaps this is an issue of being short staffed. The receptionist made zero attempt to fit me in, despite the fact that I could hear the Dr. was still with her previous patient. When she told me I had to reschedule, I tried to tell her that this was my second attempt at an appointment, and that I was out of contacts. She seemed to care less. I then explained to her that I had lost two unpaid lunch hours of a result, and that my time was just as valuable as everyone else's in this situation. Again...she could care less. That being said, I informed her I would no longer be a customer and would be finding a new eye care place. If there's anything the receptionist should care about, it's client retention. She just looked at me, shrugged, and said, "ok." If your time is valuable and you expect to be treated with a high level of customer service and professionalism, I would tell you to look elsewhere. Or perhaps, this is an opportunity for the company to improve on this aspect of their business, as everything else seems to be really solid.

UNBELIEVABLE!! They sent me glasses that were TOTALLY different RX! HUGE BLUR! This was confirmed by another eye specialist as the office / Optometrist (my primary Dr. sent me there after I had an appt with her for my red eyes that wouldn't go away. ( the redness and irritation began after the Littleton optometrist put eye drops in my eyes) The new optometrist showed the differences and explained what they were. They could not believe the huge difference in what they measured to my actual RX. Littleton Office has sent a check for half the amount of $600 plus. Not cashing it. I sent 2 complaints to my insurance company. Next step is small claims, lawyer, professional licensure for Optometrists. whatever to get the total amount and more for my time and mental stuff from them sending a policeman to my door that night . I had called 3 times after I received the check. No answer. They called the POLICE!!! to give me a no contact order!! Seriously?? They obviously have no idea how to resolve their customer issues.....NB see other review. I was patient in the beginning and after I called a couple times either woman telling me they would return my call (NOT) or left a phone message
