Since Palm bought Dr. Barbarite's practice the service has been destroyed. So sad. I will never be back to you. I had a blood test taken and needed to call 2 times to finally get results weeks later. My wife has a billing problem that is taking 8 months to resolve. I will be rating you on google next. Can never see an actual doctor. The staff can be rude as well. They fire the people who caused the billing problem and now it's the patient's issue to pay the overcharge, while their credit rating takes a hit. I would not recommend this medical center, it has totally changed for the worst and became a large commercial office that doesn't care for its patients. No answers the phone or calls you back. The office manager is always to busy to assist or never calls back. Can't get results of test for weeks, after calling several times. Doctors never get back to you. He nearly Killed me: I had an appointment to see my 'Doctor' a few weeks back on a Wednesday at 1pm, because I was worried that my blood pressure seemed to be higher than normal so I wanted to check it, and discuss options. At 11 am, this 'Doctors' office called me to say: "About your appointment: We've merged with another provider. You're on Florida Blue Shield, and we don't take that now: Don't come. Find another provider. Goodbye". And hung up! You Have To Be Frigging Kidding Me! THAT's what you think 'patient care' is? Where did you go to Medical School? Did they mention the Hippocratic Oath in school? Or are you so old you've forgotten it? Our next new provider could only schedule a new patient visit in December, so I'm sitting on that waiting list, and worrying - because at this time, after being so unceremoniously Dumped (like so many others now seem to be reporting) by the doctor I gave my business and my Loyalty to, I now have No Doctor to call: Zero medical care. I have been a patient of Dr Barbarite's for 20 years. Ever since his practice was incorporated into a bigger practice, it has become impossible to so much as get a prescription refilled, or refilled right. The clerical staff is rude and lies. I stood at CVS when they called the doctor's office to renew my prescription. 3 days in a row I did this. On the fourth day I called Dr Barbarite's office and the lady (as usual) was so rude and lied saying that CVS never called. By that point I had been without my medication for two weeks! Dr. Barbarite and his wife are GREAT people. But it is simply not worth being a patient of his practice anymore when you have to bend over backwards to try to get your medications refilled. read more

Dr. Barbarite and his wife Mary did very well for my wife and I for almost 20 years. Then there was a business decision made to sell/partner with Palm Medical. We did not fit into their new business model, so we were kicked to the curb and not even allowed by the office manager to speak with them. She said and I quote "There are too many upset patients and that's what they pay me for to handle them. Yes, we are losing patients but gaining more through our new partnership. Do not take it personal. It is a business decision." How can we not take this personal when our healthcare is a personal decision! Neither Dr. Barbarite nor Mary has called us back. This is very sad and disappointing that they built a practice for patients and now they partnered or sold to a company Palm Medical that builds a business model for investors, so beware you are now collateral in their business model. It's pretty surprising after reading some of the reviews that they were a few people that gave a five star rating. Looks to be reviews from years gone by. Most ratings that are current are in the one or two star categories Which is where mine is. I have been seeing Dr. Barbarite for 15+ years and overtime I've seen this practice go downhill significantly. I've made my decision I will be moving on to a new primary care physician. The negatives start with the ability to make an appointment by phone. Staff is not helpful at all. My last attempt to make an appointment was recommended by my neurologist to review some reports from a glucose test. I requested for an opportunity to do a video telehealth call with Dr. Barbarite as we were just going to review the report. I was told by staff, "Dr. Barbarite does not do video calls" Really??? In this day and age the doctor does not do tele health or video calls? In general The wait in a regular appt. is approximately 45 minutes and after being put in a room, it's another 15 minutes until Dr. Barbarite comes in. He is quick to tell a couple of fun stories, does his regular blood pressure and the like. When It is time to discuss my questions, I am extremely rushed and then out he goes. And you cannot speak with him again once he leaves the office. I would say that he is on his way to retirement and this is why the practice has gone downhill as it has. This is the crappiest doctor you can ever go to if you want to die go to this place. Dr Barbarett has sold his practice to a place called Palm medical group out of Miami. It's a Latin company that they like to send patients to that they don't even speak English. They screwed up Dr Barbarette's and his wife screwed up on my lab work they gave me the wrong person they refused for me to have medical care for my eyes that I needed to go to Bascom Palmer they denied it with my insurance approved it. They made me a deal that if I change my insurance they'll approve it what kind of crap is that I can only imagine what's going from hand to hand on Palm medical group to Dr Barbarrtt I had a bad tendon in my arm I asked to go to a specialist orthopedic they refuse the referral from my insurance company saying I would have to change over to Palm medicals insurance bullshit. The coordinator from palm medicalcame into my examining room. Trying to talk me into changing my insurance to go to their lousy clinics down on Southwest 8th Street to have my eyes done bullshit. What's going on in this place it seems like a lot of possible deals going on. All my lab works came back to the wrong person listen you want to stay alive stay away from this place. They are ignorant rude and money hungry and most of all they are liars to keep me from seeing a doctor when I was in a situation I could gone blind they made me wait a month not to give me my eye care and still haven't they told me change your insurance and we can help you. Also my arms still the same as it is. I will take this to the fullest of Medicare and if my eyes or arm has gotten any worse I will sue them on their medical malpractice if you want to stay on top of your house and want you to live a long life stay the hell away from these people they're just a bunch of bullshiters B's Dr Barbara does not know what she is doing and this Palm medical group is really really shady and needs to be looked into. By far the worst doctor staff I have ever dealt with. They wouldn't allow me to see the doctor because I have a severe sore throat and that's supposedly a covid symptom. They told me they filled a prescription at CVS for me. So I go there and nothing is there for me. The next day I call back and they tell me they filled it at a CVS in Deerfield beach on 10th and military. I go over there and nothing is there. Now I am annoyed so I call back and after waiting on hold for 10 mins the lady I talked to said "I don't like the way your talking to me so I'm putting you back on hold" I swear to god I am not making any of this up. Unprofessional, rude, and just a joke of a practice. Would not recommend at all. Wish I could give 0 stars, I will be changing my primary doctor today. read more

My husband and I were looking for a PCP since moving from Pittsburgh. Neither of us has any immediate medical problems but we wanted to secure a PCP for when we actually needed one. We scheduled a combined wellness visit for the 2 of us with Dr. Barbarite. Unfortunately, he spent the entire appointment talking about himself! We have never experienced this from an MD before and we are seniors. In our opinion, he may have been a decent MD at one time but really should consider retiring. We thought maybe he was just having an "odd" day so we tried again, one year later scheduling another wellness visit. That was it! He was even worse during this appointment which we didn't think was possible. He again only talked about himself and, when we tried to interject anything about our health, he immediately talked over us and was back to talking about himself. He then had his staff put us through all kinds of worthless tests and, in our opinion, this process looked like an assembly line. Our insurance covered all of it but, in our opinion, it was unnecessary and just a way to jack up the bill. read more

My experience with this office has been vastly different then the pervious reviewers. Is there typically a bit of a wait? Yes, maybe they could schedule the appointments a little further apart BUT there is a wait for everything now a days. I've only really waited for a long period one time (about a hour) AND they told me upfront they were behind. Typical wait times I've experienced are 10-20 minutes. (They have been my primary for a little over a year, since I moved to the area.) What I love about this office is I can always get in, even same day when needed. The staff is busy and straight to the point but attentive and friendly. I see Melody who is a PA at the office and she is amazing. My appointments are quick once I get in and she listens to what I want/need, gives me advice and thoroughly answers questions I have. I would recommend her anyone looking for primary care. In short, I'll take a little bit of a wait for a good medical provider, that I am comfortable discussing my health concerns with, who is flexible to my needs. read more

I went to Dr Barbarite for the first time this afternoon. The staff was very friendly, office is very nice, and best of all Dr. Barbarite was very friendly and spent a good 20 minutes with me. He was attentive and has an excellent bedside manner. There was a wait, but no different than any other doctors. Highly recommend! I have never imagine that a doctor will be so careless to denied service to a patient in need, avoid this place !!! They Don't care a damp about you, for weeks I have been calling to have an appointment they booked my appointment 2 weeks from the day I called keep telling me that they are completely full, they booked me for a physical because she said I am do for that even I keep telling them I need to see a doctor as soon as possible because having frequent headaches. A week before the appointment I called again asking them to see if there is any cancellations & addressing that for two days my head Was hurting more that I found ibuprofen 800 was helping me but I have few left I wanted to have an MRI asap. They told me to go to urgent care or to ER because they can't helme. The doctor "Mary, Dr. Barbarite's wife only send a staff member to call me & give messages to me that she can not see me under any circumstances, that she can not prescribe any ibuprofen & that she only can advice me to go to Emergency care. The staff all argue with each other, The "office manager" Lori is the rudest woman I have ever met in my life. They speak to not only me, but other patients I saw there with absolutely no respect. The lady that greets you when you first walk in with bright red hair is extremely rude as well, so it is from the first person you speak to that you are treated rudely. Have been a patient for over 15 years. I have followed them at each move and will continue to do so. Hopefully they will not move again.The address on this is wrong he is now in Parkland off of State Rd. 7. I normally see one of the nurse practitioners Suzette Ball. She is simply wonderful and very caring. Always takes the time to listen. Like most offices, not always on time, but they try. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. I often call for information and receive a call back when necessary. I would recommend this practice. read more

They get the 3 stars because the doctor I see is very good, BUT the wait time is ridiculous. I never get in to see anyone until after at least 45-60 minutes of waiting in the waiting area. After that another 10-20 minutes of waiting in the room for the actual Doctor. Today I have been waiting for one hour to be let into the room and I am here for a follow up. If someone came and updated me on what's going on maybe I wouldn't feel so bad about the wait but they just let me sit here forever without telling me anything. And this happens every single time. There hasn't been one day that I've been here that I was seen within a reasonable amount of time, even though I always schedule an appointment before coming in. I'll have to find a doctor that is able to schedule appointments in an organized manner. They will make other doctor appts before talking with someone to see if they can get to the other office or even want to go to the office of the staff's choise. I have been a patient for 2 years. Dr. Barbarite tries to be personable, but he did not look at my medical history before treating me. I had to mention prior related lab results which he prescribed the year before and he had to leave the room to reference. On my recent visit, I was also told to write down the reasons I was seeing him, only one of them was addressed, then he left the room and never came back. This was particularly frustrating after waiting over 45 minutes after my appointment time. More frustrating however is his office, especially the referral contact, Barbara. She is incompetent - incapable of providing referrals without at least 4 follow-ups, several trips to the office and constant mistakes. Took over a month just to get an annual mammo referral and other referrals even longer. Just a few examples of her incompetence: 1) she frequently says she called back when she didn't; 2) she says she will have the referral ready when I come to pick it up, then doesn't; 3) she recently mentioned we had a discussion about a script, but we never even spoke; 4) she said she was going to put me hold, but hung up on me and then never called back even after repeated messages. Also, the office does not send medical records. I have been waiting over a month for them to send my records even after 2 requests by my doctor saying it is urgent. This is not only illegal but a complete liability to them. They clearly do not care about their patients health. I couldn't even get them to RECEIVE medical records from a recent emergency room visit, even though the hospital sent them twice. The hospital records administator told me they have constant problems with Dr. Barbarite's office receiving records from other patients and that the hospital receives many requests from patients to resend them...multiple times, yet they have fax confirmations for every transmittal. In fact, it took several weeks of phone calls to Dr. Barbarite's office to get them to admit they received the records. I recently switched my provider mainly because I can no longer spend hours of my time trying to track down a simple referral and put my health on hold for weeks and weeks because this office can't take 2 minutes to properly handle a referral or medical records. I am also filing a complaint with the Department of Health. If anyone has experience similar issues with this office, I suggest you do the same. read more
