Aside from the minimal embarrassment of finding out afterwards that I tried to eat a thermometer thinking it was water (I was thirsty), that I inquired multiple times if I had a BM (I used a more colorful word) during surgery, and that I told everyone I was pretty... The entire experience was quite pleasant. From what I remember of the staff pre-sedation, they were as they advertise. Competent and compassionate. From what I was told by my designated post-surgery driver, the staff of doctors and nurses also have a pretty good sense of humor and roll with whatever bizarre behavior their patients throw at them! The surgery center staff (minus my surgeon and my anesthesiologist) even went so far as to follow up with a get well card afterwards. Thank you April (registration), Alison (pre-op), Claudette and Trisha (OR), and Debbie (recovery). My hope is that I won't require further surgeries, but if I do... I will once again be choosing to have my procedures scheduled at the Brentwood Surgery Center.

Pain that would send me to the emergency room, ultra sounds which showed very little and doctors who thought I was crazy, I couldn't possibly be in the pain that I said I was. I also went through the horrible Depo Luprin shots. HELP! I was referred to Dr. Kaplan. My first visit I waited 45 minutes to see him. I was getting very frustrated. When I voiced my frustration. A patient in the room told me he was wonderful and that he would spend quality time with me. wow! He sure did. Dr. Kaplan is thorough and amazing. I went in for a hysterectomy and he cleaned the endometrosis and scar tissue in my pelvis. THE PAIN IS GONE. I am so thankful for Dr. Kaplan's sensitivity, knowledge and quality of care. Visited this provider one time to establish care after moving to CA. Out the gate, she messed up my…read moremedications to the point of having to stop two of my medications without warning. I also have to pay an unexpected lab bill. During my spouse's appointment (a few days after my new patient appointment), I addressed the medication concern and the urgency of getting them filled. To my surprise, Dr. Syed stated, "Just because you bring a medication to me, doesn't mean I will prescribe it." I can understand this statement if she would have addressed her concerns when I was in front of her during my visit, but she did not! Additionally, she coded routine thyroid bloodwork as diagnostic and refused to re-code it. Thus, I am now having to pay an unexpected lab bill. I addressed my concerns with the provider. In the end, she prescribed the medications I needed but then took her time in providing the insurance company with the prior authorizations they required. This resulted in delaying the scripts from being filled as mentioned above. The entire encounter has caused me undue stress, and countless hours on the phone to sort out, not to mention the fallout from being taken off two of my medications so drastically. Do not recommend.

She then goes to grab the doctor, she does and he walks into the patient room I was just in and turns around with this look on his face as if to say, "what are you doing?" after walking back in the room he asks me a question, as I start to answer he cuts me off and tells me to stand up. He pokes at my back and says I'll be fine and discharges me! I waited over an hour for a 5 minute appointment and my doctor was rude to me! I recommend going somewhere else.
