From the beginning she was very relaxed and didn't push us to choose her, and we didn't feel pressured to, which was a relief after dealing with wedding vendors. We are so happy we chose her. She took all our requests and concerns into consideration. We did some creative shots and were so happy with the way our photos came out. We went to all the spots we wanted to, besides where she advised us to go. It was fun, and went fast. I also felt like the pricing and service was good for the photos we received. I was also not feeling well that day and she was kind and made sure to not push me to do anything I couldn't physically do. She was able to do my touch ups and answer my questions quickly.

I had this incredible idea...to gift my mother-in-law (on her 70th birthday) with the one thing she…read morewould appreciate, nice photos of her family (especially her grand-kids) together. Finding a time where everyone was in one place was always a challenge. BUT, we were already planning a family getaway weekend in Woodstock, so no challenge there. The next part, finding a photographer who was available the day I wanted, who was good (really good!) and reasonably priced. I did research the way I always do...first I turned to my friends. "Help!" I said, "I need to find a photographer in the Hudson valley or Catskills for a family photo shoot. Does anyone know anyone?" No one knew anybody. So, then I turned to Yelp, cause what else do you do? I reached out to 5 photographers...and from the first email, Denise stood out. She was friendly, to the point, and had a beautiful portfolio to share. Her prices were reasonably and she exuded a warmth and sincerity, even through emails, that was palpable. I booked her. When she showed up at our rental house to photograph all nine of us (ranging in age from 3 to 77) she was nothing but professional, friendly and gracious. She was on time (to the minute). And full of energy and guidance. Our hour of photo time went quickly!! it was fun! And, even though the youngest had a few minute long meltdown, Denise was not phased...and ended up getting some of the best photos during and after the meltdown. She edited and emailed the photos so quickly! And even got my hard digital copy in the mail super fast. The photos themselves are gorgeous, and there are quite a few we are looking forward to framing. She truly got my idea to fruition, perfectly. if you have any event photography or portrait needs anywhere near the Hudson Valley, reach out to Denise. You won't regret it!

We paid $385 for a Christmas Vintage Truck mini session. I received and downloaded the 5 photos…read moreincluded in the package and the lighting of the photos is horrible. It was a sunny bright day on the day of our photo shoot and the photographer did not account for this in her planning and executing of the session. In the pictures you can see the sun hitting all of our faces on one side and the quality is very poor. You can also see the yellow and orange fall foliage on the trees in the background...so while we are sitting on a nicely decorated Christmas truck, it is clearly fall in the background. When I expressed these concerns Krys said she could re-edit the images. She sent me a sample re-edited image which still had the horrible lighting and the fall colors. She also did not edit the vintage truck name "Joe's Fix-it Goshen NY" off the truck like she was supposed to. Her reply to all my concerns when we went back and forth via email was "every session is unique by location, setting, lighting and situation but your portrait gallery is in line with my work and other sessions from that day. I can't control Mother Nature (lighting, fall foliage, etc.). I think your gallery turned out absolutely beautiful and I hope you have a wonderful holiday season." The bottom line is this was not worth $385 and yes it is a photographers job to get the lighting right on the pictures they take. Pretty sure that is taught in photography 101. If anyone would like me to send you the photos she took before you book please message me on facebook under Kristin Hawley
