Excellent. Terrific ice cream choices, friendly staff, and decent prices. Our go-to spot for cones and sundaes.

Ice cream with a view?…read more We stopped into this cute little ice cream parlor- located along the side of a residential home with a magnificent garden- the other day for a cone after seeing their sign advertising Mooney's Ice Cream beckoning us from down the road. I have to tell you, that roadside signage certainly worked. It got us to detour off our normal route and stop in, so who says roadside signs can't sway the public? Anyway, we found this shop housed in a small outer building next to a fairly nondescript residential home on Corunna Road. Who would have thought there was such a nice little ice cream parlor there just from driving past? I wouldn't have stopped had it not been for the signage down the road with the big arrow pointing the way. At any rate, they had so many flavors, my stomach started rumbling right then and there from the sheer number of choices. They even had no sugar added sherbet and sorbet for the health conscious crowd, plus plenty of malts and shakes in a variety of flavors. The girl was that waited on us was friendly and pointed out her favorite flavors, even offering us a sample before we ordered, although the manager/owner who was outside moving a business sign wasn't terribly polite. She gave us and another carload of people a bit of a dirty look that I found a little perplexing, as though we were bothering her just by stopping in. Weird. After scanning what flavors they had, I had my heart set on the Sea Salt Caramel Waffle Cone (double scoop), while my husband decided on a Maple Nut Waffle Cone (also double scoop), both made from Mooney's Ice Cream. I decided to leave the dark chocolate varieties that I usually prefer to our next visit. Mine was delicious, rich and creamy and filled with huge chunks of caramel woven into the ice cream. I would get that again in a heartbeat. At some point, I sampled my husband's cone, which was also delicious. He's a sucker for maple anything (syrup, sauce, ice cream, cake, etc), so he was impressed that it had plenty of natural-tasting maple flavor and nuts mixed throughout. Despite the heat, both cones held up to intense glare of the sun and didn't start melting quickly, which is a pet peeve of mine. I really hate that. Luckily, our ice cream didn't collapse into a puddle of sticky goo right away, even though it was nearly 90 degrees. Both waffle cones were huge. Double scoops of regular cones were $3.50 each, I believe, but waffle cones cost extra, so our tally was about $8.00 for both of us. I thought the prices were pretty reasonable and the ice cream quality and size did not disappoint, either. We sat outside on the rear patio, where we enjoyed our ice cream while taking in a view of the gorgeous gardens out back. Row after row of beautiful flowers and shrubs surrounded the patio area. I must admit, I never would have known they had such a cute garden oasis out back, judging from the front of the building. Now, that's a way to enjoy an ice cream cone on a hot summer day. One caveat, though- it's strictly "look, but don't touch." There was a sign warning customers not to walk around the garden. As for the parking, it was a bit congested and limited, at best. The parking lot was tight and didn't allow for too many vehicles to enter/exit at once. Truthfully, we had a difficult time getting a parking spot and more people showed up after we did. Something should be done about that. In other words, if four or more cars show up at one time (on top of the employees/owners vehicles), good luck getting a parking spot. You probably won't find one. One plus, though- they're open late every night (til about 10 or 11 p.m.). Like most ice cream shops, they're seasonal. We were told they typically close for the season by Oct. 1. I wouldn't exactly say that I'm "over the moon" about this ice cream shop, but it was cute and the ice cream was great, so I'll stop in again soon.

Really good food here! i'm The pretzel appetizer is always so tasty. I didn't grab a photo this…read moretime, but you get a lot of pretzels and the dips are great. The strawberry salad dressing was delicious too, although the chicken on it was a little tough and dry. The fish and chips were great too. The fries are the beer-battered with a crispy outside, which is my favorite type of fry, and the fish was cooked well too. It's decorated so cute in here for the holidays. I love the bows they put on the lights and how they line the shelves with decor! It definitely adds to the cozy vibe. Our server Jennifer was great too. She matched the ambiance perfectly with a confident, relaxed vibe. Very attentive and honestly one of the better servers I've had this holiday season. One update from my earlier visits: prices have definitely crept up a bit, and they now add a fee for card transactions. Not my favorite surprise at the end of the bill, especially at a place like this. That said, there's still a ton of variety on the menu with plenty of options, plus some more upscale entrées if you're feeling fancy!

My Son got the Sunrise Burger, which was slightly under cooked. Our server never came and asked if we needed drinks or to check on us until she saw the card on the table to pay. Another thing that was strange was the hostess walked by while I was talking to my Son and (i assume it was a piece of trash she grabbed off of the table) but did it so quickly it was odd because 1 -I was unsure of what she did at first and 2-her hand was super close to my plate ...... No concern from the server until AFTER she took my payment and asked if I needed a box.... Nope, no thanks - asked if she wanted me to take it off the bill - I told her not to bother because why bother after it had been paid for??? She apologized and I told her it was not her fault she did not cook it - her response (as she is laughing) "you're right I didn't!" I will not be going back anytime soon

Went and visited my son up at school and both of us being burger fans took a shot at this spot…read more First and foremost it was nicer than I expected. I thought it would be more fast food in appearance, and in some ways it was with the self serve drink dispenser and plastic silverware, but aesthetically it was far more pleasing than any typical fast food burger spot. You know who I'm talking about. The counter person was absolutely wonderful dealing with us and our questions. Now onto the important stuff. Burgers are two patties and massive. You are definitely getting your money's worth. We split 3 different ones amongst us and they were all good: the mushroom, the southwest, and the brunch. The meat itself is a little flavorless but that might be cause typically I have the meat cooked to medium and these were well done. We weren't asked how we want them cooked so I'm assuming this is just how the cook all the patties. What I didn't like were the fries. They were cold and chewy like they have been sitting around for a while. My son ordered a caramel and it was absolutely delicious. So that was a huge positive. Overall it was a good experience and the prices were in good for the amount of food you get. I would definitely go again.
