We paid a year in advance to store our boat. We just sold our boat with 7 months left of service and they refuse to refund the unused 7 months. The owner says that the contract we signed in 2019 states "partial refunds will only be considered under the most extenuating circumstances". The contract does not define extenuating circumstances. They never asked why we no longer needed service or if we had any extenuating circumstance. They have no intention of refunding anyone for services they are not providing. This is a terrible way to do business and treat customers. I could understand them charging the month to month rate difference. However, just to say sorry "we don't do refunds" is bad business and not a place people should support.

We stayed in a beautiful cabin that was extremely clean and spacious with a picnic bench, firepit, and trees for hanging a hammock. We took a phenomenal 5 hour white water rafting trip down the New River with our very knowledgeable and personable guide, Greg! He guided us through huge rapids and even a thunderstorm! They even gave us snacks halfway through! We also zip lined with Adventures on the Gorge, and all of their employees are just so humorous and you can tell they love their jobs. 10/10 experience!!

The company also can shuttle you if you stay at Hawk's Nest State Park as the marina is by the base of the tramway from the lodge.

The houseboat was in good working order, had all the amenities dishes, toaster, TV, Vcr, 2 staterooms with double bed, two additional berths with double beds and the couch pulls out to a double bed. The boat was pretty simple to operate. Cell Service we had service in two of closest coves to the marina , AT&T no Verizon. We didn't have any complainants .. other then poor weather. You just have to have reasonable expectations. This is glorified camping on the water. We had a great time three generations of boys getting together to do a little fishing while we ate good, played some cards, watched a couple of movies, explored the lake. Cons: The lake is allegedly dry, but it seems to be one of those don't ask don't tell type things. Tips: Bring some work gloves when you are tying the boat to shore there are a few sticker bushes etc, bring a small hatchet same issue to use when tying the boat off. I would also have a pair of jeans for the same purpose. next year we will probably bring a small dingy to pull behind to do a little fishing from.

Great parking area to enjoy the lake for fishing! There are a lot of trees in the water so no fash speed boats allowed in this lake, but trowling motors allowed and perfect for kayaks. The lake is stocked by WV DNR. A Fishing license is required. There is plenty of parking near the Mill Creek where you can slso fish and put in your kayaks to go along the Mill Creek Water Trail No camping is allowed There are also marked hiking trails. No grills available and no picnic tables. There is a dock. You can put in row boats and kayak in lake but nothing with a motor.

Prior to arriving I used the online…read morecontact information for the Marina office to inquire whether pets were allowed in the swim area and was told "yes"; however upon arriving there was a posted "no pets" sign. At that point I had my dogs in tow and could not leave them in the car (too hot) so I let the written confirmation from the office staff supersede the signage and took them onto the sand. It was not very crowded and so we were able to unobtrusively occupy a little corner and not bother / interact with other beach goers. None of them seemed to mind our presence. The beach itself is super duper pleasant! Loved our day there. Just wish it were easier to know how to follow the rules!
