My son brought his car in to get the original springs and shocks put back, replace the original air intake, plus an alignment. This place was recommended by one of his friends. He dropped off the car in the morning, and he was never provided with a quote or how much it was going to cost. They told him they'll let him know later depends on how much time it'll take to get everything done. Since my son is young, inexperience, and naive, he trusted these guys. They never contacted him for a quote or bother to get permission of what type of work they'd performed or how long it'd take. They basically just did whatever the f*ck they wanted to do without the client's knowledge or permission. When I drove my son to pick up his car, the guy says it'll be $1,285 dollars. He showed me the receipt with a bunch of made up BS on it. I was furious because I know they're ripping off my son due to his youth and inexperience. So, I confronted the guy and asked him why is he ripping people off and performed the work without a quote, get permission, and letting someone know the cost before hand. He had no explanation to back up what he did. He was apologetic and just kept saying what can he do do make things right. So, I told him that what they did was not worth more than $700 dollars worth of work, if that. But since they already did the work, I agreed to pay them $700 dollars. He was even asking if I'd pay him $750, which I replied no. He was not even going to give me a receipt, until I pressed him to print one for me. He went on the computer and typed up anther receipt stating that he basically gave us a deep discount. Please take note that this business is dishonest and they will rip you off if you don't pay attention. Despite of what they say on their website about trust and being a dealer's alternative, they're lying straight to your face. I strongly recommend customers stay away from this dishonest business. I went in to do a couple of upgrades to the Supra. Upgraded to multi-slotted front rotors, brake pads, and a steering wheel upgrade. Rotors and brake pads were straight forward. The upgraded steering wheel, Rexpeed flat bottom steering wheel. This was a little bit more complex, I asked if he could move all the internals from the stock steering wheel to the Rexpeed steering wheel, Dennis said no problem. Dropped off the car at RNZ when they opened, Dennis was at the front desk, bright and early. I let him know that he can have the car all day. About 2:30 - 3pm pm, your car is ready. Drive way to get in is steep, but manageable for lowered cars. The parking is shared with other business. This place is down the street from Miramar Speed Circuit for reference, just Incase GPS gives you wrong directions. Albert and D are the best. It's a family run business which is a plus. I always support local family business as it helps grow our community. Customer service is always top notch, they care for you and the car and they won't steering you wrong on what's the problem with your car. They give you options which is great. I always bring my cars into this shop. I recommend all my family and friends go here and they also trust this place as well. What happens when you take a Filipino boy, give him the freedom to buy a car and let him mod a car? He buys a half-Subaru, drops it and ruins his alignment. A week later, his spine is destroyed. I needed an alignment, myself and the car. If RNZ had an in-house chiropractor, they'd have my business forever but they don't. Luckily they do let JDM bois bring their barely driveable cars in and help them get to the specs wanted or needed. My main concern when modding a car is always finding a shop that knows the ins and outs of my vehicle. There are plenty of shops around Miramar/Mira Mesa that claims they specialize in JDM cars but it's another thing when a shop takes in heavily modified cars that could literally be a rabbit hole of work. I was relieved to see a fleet of 86/BRZs when I pulled in for my appointment. I'm not kidding when I say fleet. Two twins were being worked on inside while another was being pulled out back. Three were parked in the rear and I'm not sure if it's the employees or customers. Then when you walk out front, three 86/BRZs were parked. All of these twins were lower, had more camber and probably are way more modified than mine. To top it off, there was a Nissan GTR just chilling in the back as well. If I recall, there might have been an S-chassis car hiding in the corner as well and a black 350z I usually spy around Mira Mesa. It's always a good sign when other enthusiasts go to a shop. Every car person knows, we might seem rough on our cars but in reality we baby them. When you do get to working on your own car, you prefer being the one performing the work rather than handing your keys off for someone else to do the work. There will always be those one off things that you can't work on at home and it's reassuring to see that the shop you've chosen most likely understands how you feel and definitely understands all the dumb intricacies of your car. Anyway...uh, I came for an alignment. It was standard since my car only dropped by half in the front and three-quarters of an inch in the rear. No camber bolts or LCAs but they were able to get the camber and toe to a driveable spec. The overall cost was $125. From drop-off to pick-up took about 3 hours. It could be placebo but I doubt it. I used to feel ALL the bumps down Sorrento but now it rides as close to stock. Areas where I would brace and wince, I no longer need to. The car also feels very at home in the mountain roads. I would recommend making an appointment or coming EARLY on weekends. Looking at the alignment report, I definitely need to get my hands on camber bolts and LCAs. I believe alignment will be a base of $150 for the New Year (2021) with additional fees for any extra services rendered. So I'll probably wait to come back until I can afford LCAs. They'll also do your air suspension alignment for $175(?) with additional fees if they have to do extra work. Talking to other customers, everyone definitely trusts RNZ. Again, that's more peace of mind. When I was talking to one of the staff, I believe she's mainly the front desk staff, she was very friendly and seems knowledgeable about various different things. I've taken all my cars to Rnz concepts for the past 5 years. I know nothing about cars just minor basics. Dennis and Al have always taken care of me regarding any repairs needed to be done. We've all been at that place where money is tight and the guys have always taken that into account whenever I had car issues. They would always let me know what should be fixed first when money was an issue. Mazda protege, Nissan 350z, friends and family's other vehicles were recommended by me to be sent here. It's the kind of shop that when you are given the bill you don't look twice at it because you know you're in good hands. I recently had the opportunity to pick up a 1994 Toyota Supra from friend. RNZ had worked on this Supra for my friend with flushing the engine and replacing the clutch. The work that was done was great, they got the Supra back up and about. The AC wasn't working and I conferred with Al, they ended up replacing the entire AC unit for $$ The last thing I wanted to do was install a sound system, I had everything I wanted ordered from pioneer with Al's Input and was researching different stereo shops for the install. Price quotes were around $600. Dennis and Al offered to install everything for me for the same price. Dennis told me he only does stereo installs for his homies. I figured if I'm going to spend $600, I may as well pay it to people I know instead of strangers. Dropped off my car and went home to hang out. I got a call from Dennis saying that it was more labor intensive than expected and that the bill would be around $1000 but he'll hook it up for $880. A bit over my budget but cool. I picked up the car in the evening and they bumped the sounds, showed me the deck portion of the car. It looked like someone hacked the center console with a file. You can see pics below. Dennis told me he couldn't fit deck so he had to file the sides. He went into more detail and Al even said that La Jolla car audio would have charged over $1500 because they would have to do a custom wood bezel etc etc. I should be happy with the work he did. I went home with a weird feeling in my stomach. The next day in daylight I took a closer look at everything and the car was a mess. Greasy oil foot prints on the inside of my car, window seal loose, the Supra looked like someone just half assed the job without caring. I took my car to a stereo place and they straight up told me that Dennis installed incorrectly. I went back after talking to Eugene Abad Who works with them and was told the same thing by Dennis. His excuse this time was stereo shops quote you the low price to get you in and that's how they would get you for $1500. No help, no refund, he just filed the face a bit more, cleaned the interior, but as you can see it still looks awful. It took a while but I've been hunting for the replacement piece to my dash that RNZ butchered. I finally found the OEM part. I did my research and took it to a place called "Audio Sound" in Kearny Mesa. I informed them of all the the work Dennis said he did, and told the owner Amir I wanted to check and redo everything if needed . 2 days later everything looks great as you can see below. The deck fits perfectly without having to cut the center console at all Amir breaks it down to me that Dennis did a horrible job with everything. He didn't even secure my amp below my seat. Work was garbage period. The bill for the work to be redone was $456.60. They took the time to walk me through everything. Now armed with complete knowledge, I reached out to Dennis as you can see from the pics included. All I wanted was for them to reimburse me the $456.60 and money for the center piece. As you can see from the reply, they were caught. There's no owner ship or anything. They ripped me off over $880. Shouldn't that tell you something? For an amount that small what else have they done? I have a feeling these guys used my Supra to practice on, Who knows right? If $880 is worth severing a long good relationship, you have to ask yourself what else is possible? If you're a current customer or prospective customer I hope you read this and think twice about trusting Dennis and RNZ with your car. I blindly trusted them, didn't do my research and paid for it. It's people like this that ruin it for everyone else and makes the world a shittier place. Silver lining, is that I get to share my experience with you. read more

After installing coil overs on my 2018 civic . The car right off the bat made a weird clunking sound that I couldn't figure out . They knocked out the transfer of tires to new wheels from older wheels, and balanced both sets at a extremely fair price and within a short period of time. Been here twice to get my car worked on. First time was to have a custom exhaust fabricated for my car. I brought in a resonator and muffler, and asked them if they could make a custom single exit for my Accord. Dennis and his crew did an awesome job with that, and was done pretty quickly. You guys ought to send me the actual photo of the cooler being removed or post it. Also. Mind you I have owned 16 rotarys over the years. Knowing that the top cooling panel wasn't even touched. The bottom retaining bolts were covered in 35 year old original dirt. I find it really difficult to fathom the tech managed to physically remove my actual oil cooler from my vehicle. Aside from cutting it out, there really isnt any way to remove it unless you break the mounts off. But nope. The dirt is still there. Of course my previous lines would be removed. How wouldn't they? The lines that were re-installed were overtightened. That was it. Just a simple fudge up that can't be undone. Happens to the best of us. I wouldn't know as much about Rotarys if I didn't have so many of them to fix myself now would I? That explains the crack. and the green gasket thats been sheared off inside of it. and so conveniently embedded into the newly flattened surface of the nice hairline crack. I get that my car is 35 years old. Why do you think I do the majority of my own car work? However. I never intended to replace my original oil cooler. Why do you think I bothered to bring my car to you to replace the lines and went through all that ridiculous explanation on how to properly remove and do things? If the objective was not to continue using my original oil cooler and just to replace it. I would have just done all the work myself at home and junked it not caring what happened to the original. Why even worry. I went through even a particular explanation on the phone. Trust. Why waste my money and time? Moreso my precious time knowing I can do a much better, more meticulous job working on my rotarys than anybody I know of in this immediate area? Im not trying to be cocky. Its honestly the truth. You guys are car enthusiasts for the most part as well. Y'all see joy and value in driving older cars. I know you understand the difference between simple "Wear and tear" on an aluminum oil cooler versus negligence. It was the end of the day. Your tech was probably in a rush and look what happens. Mistakes get made when you don't mind your Ps and Qs. Aside. I do understand your business. I signed upon bailment and letting go of my keys a contract. STATING. Customer provided parts carry no warranty. RNZ Conceptz is not responsible for the damages done to the vehicle due to parts provided by the customer. I know how in writing you do whatever you can to protect your assets. You guys boast about being "The Dealership Alternative" Yet. My OEM dealer provided parts are not good enough I guess since I brought them in myself and you weren't the ones to try and add a surcharge to them and make some money off of me in the process. Awful experience. They damaged my car while getting worked on and didn't even tell me until I noticed it when I got home. I'm assuming that's why they made me sign a "not responsible for damage " waiver. Months later the struts are making all kind of noises and popping sounds. Not happy with what is a entry level job. Edit 6/18/2017 I did not get the fenders rolled. I had the car lowered. You damaged my brand new car. There's no way the tech didn't notice it and no reason why you didn't tell me. Update: They never fail to surprise me. I brought my 1984 Cadillac for some maintenance and guess what. Less than 2 hours later they gave it back to me. Bare in mined they charged less than Firestone and PepBoys quoted. Dennis and the team showed me what else was wrong and said if it needs to be fixed rn. It's always a pleasure to work with them. THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. These guys simply get their job done quick. I showed up without an appointment. Little did I know 4 hours later my car was fixed. The owner Dennis and his staff are one of the few mechanics I trust to work on my Fiance's GT-R. Why would we send a $100,000+ to a shop that we didn't trust? They are true experts in their craft. Dennis has done everything from oil changes to installing exterior cosmetics on our GT-R and smart car. I have a group of 30+ super cars from GT-Rs to R8s and I have recommended ALL of them to his shop. Not a single one has left with any complaints. I have nothing, but praise for this shop. Never come here if you want an expert opinion because there are no experts here besides Albert who seems to know virtually everything to be just a receptionist. Even if Dennis or one of their other minions Is installing something simple, have it checked again by someone else because there's no telling what their day was like and they might just take it out on your car. Make sure you bring instructions if your getting something installed even though they will not look at the instructions to see if they're installing it correctly, but they could honestly care less. They did not take the time to adjust my control arms to spec which only took minutes for someone else to do. Dennis is a certified liar & tried to blame noises coming from the control arms on something that was completely unrelated to hide the fact that they are completely negligent and installed the control arms on the wrong sides causing damage to the knuckle, both wheels and arms themselves. Somehow, this has nothing to do with them. There is multiple resources everywhere. Do your research and know what the finish product is supposed to look like and don't let these ignorant band of liars tell you any different. Best thing to go in for is probably just an alignment or the best thing you can do is to stay away from this Really Negligent Zone (RNZ) --------------------- 1/15/19 It excites me to know you finally read the Manuel, but still don't understand what it means when it says "off-road use only". It "should only be used on the track". It is what most aftermarket manufacturers put on their parts to make them legally compliant in the United States. If you look at most aftermarket suspension or drivetrain components, it has that warning. It is so that it is allowed to be sold in States that have rules on your camber, ride height, etc. This car wouldn't last a second on a track because RNZ did not properly install the control arms, knuckle, and wheels. I'll find out if you guys officially damaged the ball joint tomorrow. The shop that didn't properly align the original control arms was SD WHEELS AND TIRES. Not the original installer. Your speaking on my run in with SD wheels and tires and my dissatisfaction with wheel balancing along with how they did business. I went back to the original installer after still having issues with RZN to find out the Z1 control arms I had previously ordered were most likely at fault and sent those back. RNZ DID NOT make that discovery. Nor did RZN identify the contact the control arms were making with the wheel well because they did not align properly!Even after the 3 to 4 times I have been there. I just got a " you just have to deal with the noise" from Albert and sent me on my way. RZN wants a quick buck, good luck. I later read the report from Infiniti and I will post it because I was as personally unsure as you guys were, if the white grease had came from the control arms. I was wrong. The control arms are still not in spec & the car is not properly aligned even after your negligent rework when you guys switched them to the correct sides. Honestly, how do you screw that up as "professionals" and claim that improper install wouldn't damage the knuckles and so forth? Like I said, there is no experts here and I don't know what minion you are or who sent you but you are clearly no expert either. read more

Amazing and fair prices. Dennis is professional and helpful. They did my timing belt and new motor mount in one day recently and was very good about following up. If you have parts you can bring them, they won't be able to give you a warranty on those parts, this is not a knock as most places won't even allow you to bring your own parts. These guys also took out my transmission on my Acura TL 06, it has held up for over 10 years. The car still runs amazing. I trust these guys and vouch on their integrity. They are straight up and honest. I just realized that my original review for RNZ did not go through completely and instead, was saved as a draft! I got some downpipe and exhaust work done by Albert a few years back on my '13 VW Golf R Last night, I stopped by to get my front fenders rolled. I called about an hour before closing.. but that didn't stop them from fitting me into their already busy work schedule. The waiting area is extremely comfy, a few bar stools and tables along with some sofas and a coffee table. They have coffee and other beverages as well to keep you comfortable while they work on your ride. Pricing was extremely reasonable and their work speaks for itself! It feels like a great family-ran business (maybe it is), and their customer service vouches for that. Mahalo and Aloha guys for taking care of my ride, bringing tons of peace in mind! Very satisfied, and very impressed. I was greeted immediately by Albert and they took my car in for a four wheel alignment on their low profile rack. To begin, his customer service was amazing, proving to me he could handle the concerns of two customers at a time without any rush or worries. Albert also explained how RNZ provides all sorts of vehicle services, from a basic alignment to transmission issues and aftermarket parts installations. After a brief inspection of my vehicle was when things got JUICY. My tires popped today after I had been feeling vibrations at the steering wheel for several months. They located and informed me that my aftermarket end link had snapped on my rear passenger side. Albert even informed me about the possible warranty for this part and he was absolutely right, going above and beyond what I could've asked for. They were able to order a new one and install it within the hour and the labor cost was more than reasonable. Actually, it was very.. very.. cheap considering what other shops would quote/charge. Another thing to note is the additional inspection they provided in my engine bay and wheel hubs. I had many concerns regarding the belts, air filters, and wheel bearings. I took my bmw 335is at RNZ to replace the stock and flimsy rear control arms with M3 control arms. In addition I asked to replace the rear toe arm with aftermarket part. Once again Dennis did a fantastic job. He was able to install all the M3 rear control arms (lower and upper), install toe arm and align the car in less then 3 hrs. After 2 weeks of driving he car, I can say the corner handling has improved significantly now and thanks to the perfect alignment, the rear turn much faster and more precisely.
