I called about an hour before closing knowing I was pushing it but the gentleman on the phone welcomed me to the location. Luckily it is just up the street from me. I get there and the inside of the lobby is decorated with tiki decor and tiki music playing in the background. They had a pot of hot coffee for waiting customers. The guy did what he had to do and took my keys and started doing his thing. Took no longer than 30 minutes. Car passed and was good to go. Called him on the phone told him im coming in (car and type), pulled in the driveway, he had his ear buds on, I was waving to him, he looked at me, he didn't get up, stared at me, never got up, never took his ear buds out. Clean shop, polite and friendly proprietor, GREAT hours to make it easy for working people, GREAT coffee, perfect music in a TERRIFIC waiting room that took me back to polynesia. The service was good. I was a little surprised that out the door I paid $88 before tip. I bought a new to me car and needed to smog for the title change. I didn't have all the paperwork, so maybe there was an extra charge for that? I was asked to sign to authorize service, but I didn't ask to see the paperwork to see the price I was agreeing to. So that was my own fault. I had to get two cars smogged that day. I took my second car to a nearby place. It was definitely grungier, but saved me $30. read more

I've had two of my car smogged. First time I had an appointment in the second time I just drove right in. Really really cool place and the guy behind the counter was very considerate and kind I highly recommend this place, probably be best if you made an appointment, although both times I was in and out of there in 15 minutes. I made a reservation to make sure they were available, and when I showed up three minutes late because of traffic, they had given my spot away to a car that just pulled up. "Well, you were late..." . Went to Smog Oasis today as I needed a star station to fulfill my DMV requirements. My husband had gone there a couple months ago, so they had sent him a $20 off coupon. It is close to our home, so seemed logical to go. I called a couple days ago to ask if I needed an appointment. I was asked the year of the car, and was told that I didn't need an appointment. I showed up on Saturday morning before 10 and the owner asked if I had an appointment. He said that he had appointments for the next couple hours. I was a bit annoyed because, had I known, I would have made an appointment. It all turned out OK though, as he made me an appointment for Sunday morning, which worked out just fine. The place is a kitschy tiki hut...old school Hawaii...some old school fun. The add advertises "Kona coffee". During COVID, you probably don't want to serve coffee, which is why there wasn't any so no worries...however it looks like an old coffee pot sitting in a corner, not exactly special Kona coffee that I'd care to drink. That said...who really needs coffee and decorations to get your car smoged. I used the $20 coupon, and I thought it still cost $59. It seems more like that is the regular price, but what do I know about smog prices. All I really care about in the end is that it was fast, efficient, oh...and that I did pass. Because of the location, I'd probably go back... let's find out in a couple years. read more

Oasis is my new favorite Smog shop. They've been around 7 years and are right down the street from my house, so not sure how I missed them before, other than that I usually just get my car smog checked downtown, where I work. Love the cute, tiki style waiting room, w/ upbeat surf/Hawaiian music playing and "Tiki" bar in the back w/ complimentary Kona coffee and even flavored syrups. (Or, if you want something stronger, Desi's neighborhood bar is right next door). Service by Edward was super friendly. But best part is that I made an appointment same day for 5:30 pm, and they got me out the door in 20 minutes with paperwork in hand. I was very pleased with my experience at Smog Oasis. Scott was incredibly helpful, to say the least! I made an appointment online (which I recommend you do since they offer a discount that way) which I had to cancel last minute because I went to start the car and it wouldn't start. I thought the car battery was dead (turns out my husband just disconnected it and forgot...) so I called to let Scott know I wouldn't be able to make it and apologized for the last-minute cancellation. He said it was OK and explained to me on the phone that I would need to look up the drive cycle and complete that once I got the battery fixed before it would pass emissions. I had no idea! I literally would've just brought it in the next day, but he let me know that that wouldn't work. I'm so glad he said something right off the bat without me having to ask or go in and wonder why it wasn't passing. It saved me a lot of time, energy and money. Once I took it in for the first test, no luck. It still had incomplete data and needed to complete the drive cycle. He let me know that every car is different and some take much longer to complete than others. He also assured me it was OK because they offer a free recheck if you bring it back within 2 weeks. I left and on my way out, I dropped my car registration (DOH!) and he called me to let me know he had it and would hold on to it until I returned! SO nice! The second test worked great. I passed and he sent over the info electronically so I could get my new registration stickers right away. I will only ever use Smog Oasis for all my smog testing from now on. It is so hard to find good customer service at places like this and I won't be taking that for granted! Not only that, but I absolutely loved the atmosphere and it doesn't feel dirty and unaccommodating like most smog check stations do. They've got a regular customer in me! read more
