Don't trust them, even with an invoice. It still creeps me out that they were ever in my house. Oh! And when I decided to swap out the broken dishwasher he sold me with the dishwasher that was in the house when I bought it, I found out he had pulled the powercord and other parts from the old one and patched them onto the "new" one - so I now have 2 useless dishwashers and a hole in my kitchen where one of them should be installed. YARGH.

I was worried about the color but they were very attentive to all my ideas and details and my floors look amazing. Then there's the issue of their wives/husbands and children. Who will take care of them while they're taking care of me? I went against better judgement and called a mover who wasn't the #1 recommended moving company among my peers, mostly because their estimate was lower and I happen to be poor. I'm glad I did. It was a short move, just a few miles down Montrose. It couldn't have gone better. I had to reschedule my move and they had no problem with that. They called me the day before to ask if I wanted to change my move time earlier since they had a cancellation and I gladly agreed. I asked them to come between 9 and 10am and they came at exactly 9:00 and started on the job immediately. Three of them carried down all my stuff in two hours, and unloaded into my new place in an hour and a half. Mind you, this was a 3rd floor to 3rd floor move, so I can imagine how awful it was. So for anyone out there needing to move, skip the beer and pizza. These guys will make life so much easier.

I've visited a 2 bedroom high-rise condo, a 2 bedroom mid-rise condo, and a 3 bedroom townhouse and all 3 apartments were very nice! The 2 bedrooms are spacious with the 2nd bedroom a little on the small side (perfect for an office). The community is dog friendly (in fact they have their very own dog park!), it's easy to find parking on the streets when visiting residents, and something about the gatehouse just makes me feel extra safe (the high-rise has an additional doorman as well). The townhouses are ideal, although a little on the expensive side (sigh, maybe one day), but my fiance and I found the 2 bedroom condos to be reasonably priced compared to some of the other condos in the River North area. Assessments seem to be a bit on the high side, but I guess it makes sense if you're paying for the guard gate, community, gym, and pool (although I'd guess most people who live here work out and swim at East Bank). Definitely a neighborhood worth checking out if you're looking to buy. Or rent, although the Realtor we met with said that over 85% of the people who live in Kinzie Park own their condos. I only lived there for 18 months but I learned the names of virtually everyone who worked there. The association fees are moderately high but the building is well managed. The board and manager are invested in preserving the value of the building and would rather budget for projects than plan for special assessments. The rental cap ensures that most of the units are owner-occupied. If you're renting out the unit, the weekly updates are nice because the board coordinates with different vendors for maintenance, like servicing the HVAC as the seasons change. In terms of location, you can walk to the Racine and UIC blue line stops in about 10 min. The Morgan green line stop is also within walking distance.
