Well, I'm definitely glad that I didn't go out of the way just to check this place out because it really wouldn't have been worth the trip, though since I was already down here simply jumping off the train and going to the pub didn't take too much effort. Actually, it's more of a shop front that has been converted into a pub, and it isn't a particularly flash one at that, though they do have a beer garden, but they don't have a great range of beers. Yeah, this place was okay, just not particularly great.

Amazing service! I've not had the ladies at reception help by taking our bags up to the room…read morebefore. Their staff were lovely and they manager to find a room for us after I asked if they had one available. This was also surprising as they said they didn't have one available for another 2 weeks. And, when they change our rooms, they moved all of our luggage, food and even placed everything in the new fridge. They also have great rooms and good cleaning service. Overall, the best ever experience I have had at a hotel!

Sands has friendly staff and service with a clean dining area. We ordered the rump steak and chicken schitz.. it is what it is .. after a few beers and wine .. everything was better :) the steak turned out OK .. the mash was pretty good. the schitz I particularly liked .. thick not dry and the crispy bits went well with the beers n wine. no fancy smanshy pairing needed here.. :)
