So, I finally checked out this laundromat today after prior negative experiences with Comet Cleaners' laundromat, as well as the one on Lillian (which I admittedly haven't used in about five or six years), and I was very pleased with its quality.
Almost all of the washing machines and driers are clean and in good repair. There are two driers that seem to be out of commission, but they appear to be holdovers from the prior incarnation of this laundromat.
The change machines are both clean and functional, as is the food/drink vending machine. I wasn't able to locate a vending machine for detergents and fabric softeners, so make sure to bring your own! It is possible that the attendant sells those, but it doesn't seem so, and I didn't bother to ask.
Speaking of which: there is an attendant there (at least during the daytime hours)! Those of you who have experienced problems at a laundromat and had no one to speak to about a refund or anything can imagine how cool this is! It's great to know that if something had gone awry, I would have someone to speak to, apart from just calling the owner and crossing my fingers for good luck.
There's a pretty large TV there, and reportedly there's free wi-fi, although I didn't test its existence or quality. But if so, that's pretty cool -- it's certainly not something I'd expect at a laundromat in this town, even in 2016.
Apparently, they offer a service where you can drop off your laundry for them to do and pick it up the same or next day. I haven't tried this (I don't have kids, and my weekends are fairly empty), but it's a nice service and I imagine it's a lifesaver for people who are short on time.
The primary drawback -- at least to me -- is that it's kind of small for how busy it is. So there's a lot of noise and activity, which can be a problem for someone like me who is prone to experiencing sensory overload. Plus, it's completely possible that there are times where there simply aren't any washers and/or driers available. I would suggest showing up shortly after it opens, or at other non-peak times, to avoid having to wait.
The upside of this is that it doesn't feel unsafe, like less populous laundromats can feel. There's a lot of people around, so it's unlikely you're gonna get shanked or something.
Oh! I almost forgot -- it's located right next to a trail and a pavilion, so if you'd prefer to pass the time outside, that is totally an option.
IN SHORT: Best laundromat in town (that I know of). Store is kept clean and fully operational. Busy, though. Go here. read more
