They have tons of adorable Alpacas all with their own creative names and personalities to match! There's a lovely store where you can purchase hand spun alpaca yarn as well as assorted handmade item from both their own alpacas as well as lots of unique items imported from Peru. Things like hats, gloves, socks, sweaters, barn vests and throws just to name a few. As an avid knitter I was so excited to purchase some of their beautiful hand spun yarn. We also picked up a few pairs of socks made from alpaca that have even better wicking quality than merino wool. Perfect for hiking! Keeps you cool in summer and warm in winter! They have a lovely porch with comfortable chairs that you can sit and watch the sun set over the mountains. At night we left our windows open and enjoyed the peace and quiet. The only sound was the occasional alerts of their guard dogs ensuring their alpacas are kept safe. Both Janis & John were lovely. We very much enjoyed chatting with them. We will def be back!

When I approached the owner about finding something in another size she mentioned that she carried sizes that were appropriate to her customer base and if she stocked items with every size available she wouldn't make any money. Basically shaming me for needing a larger size. I wasn't asking for anything extreme just a size XL (to fit the girls) or a size 10 jeans. I don't need the rude attitude and I'll happily take my business downtown to another boutique in town that doesn't passively fat shame women.

I was never told about the 10 days policy and since I had gotten a text receipt - the policy was not in writing on the receipt either. They did not attempt to offer any sort of accommodation. A simple exchange would not have cost them anything as the shoes were 100% unworn. If the shoes were no longer in stock, I would have understood paying a restocking fee of a reasonable percentage in exchange for store credit. Instead I was RUDELY dismissed. I cannot recommend this shop based on this poor experience.

Most malls are dying. This one doesn't seem to be with the usual anchors and in between stores and…read morevery few cell phone repair shops. I only noticed one or two storefronts "in transition" and that's unusual these days. Charlottesville Fashion Square is the town shopping mall. Shaped like a large plus sign with the anchors at the main four points. JC Penney, Belk (times two) and Sears. The mall is on one level and is surrounded by parking. Most of the entrances will be through one of those anchor stores and there are three others that are not. There is also a spot in the back for local bus service. Other than being very well populated, the mall is in good condition with good lighting, smooth floors and lots of spots in the middle to sit and wait for your wife to buy her stuff.

As far as malls go, Fashion Square is pretty fair. It seems better already (as far as available…read moreshops) than when I originally moved to Cville three years ago. There are still a few vacant storefronts which always feels a bit sad, but at least one or two of them have signs that something is coming soon. There is a decent selection of restaurants, though I've never eaten at any of them. I do usually prefer an actual food court, to keep the food and eating folks separate from the clothing shops, maybe just because that's what I'm used to, but it feels weird to have all the tables with people eating right outside other kinds of shops. I think Fashion Square just isn't big enough to have a full designated food court area. Otherwise the main mall areas, bathrooms and stores all seem clean and well-kept. I have only visited the mall maybe 3 or 4 times, and usually for one or two specific shops, but it's always a kinda fun blast from the past to wander around a mall for a bit of time.

Upon entering the store, I immediately felt overwhelmed. Soooo much stuff and it's all over the place. Not a good sign. I loss interest quickly. This store doesn't have its own identity, unfortunately. It's like a mash up of several different stores. I didn't like it. Left out without making any purchases. I don't think I will be returning. Best thing about this store is the name. Gabe wasn't pleased with Gabe's!
