And he did. He was the worst-looking corpse I've ever seen, complete with black spots on his lips. Since my grandparents had pre-planned, we used their services again for my grandmother, hoping that the experience would be better. Grandma was nearly unrecognizable in the casket; she looked yellow/orange. Eddy's customer service was fine, but their makeup skills leave much to be desired.

Our family has been well served by Frain Mortuary. My stepmother passed a few years after my father…read morepassed and her funeral was handled by Frain. Our father had donated his body to the IU Medical School, and afterwards he had been cremated and returned to us. When Jon Frain heard about this he offered to have our father's remains buried with our stepmother. When he asked us if our father was a veteran, we told him we thought he was but he didn't like talking about it and we weren't even sure what branch of the armed services he was in. We did remember a picture where he was on a ship, so we assumed it was the Navy. Jon Frain took all this vague information and tirelessly worked to try to find out our father's service history. He ran up against a lot of obstacles and even a fire that had destroyed many records of that era, but he didn't give up or stop his search for the information. After several years, he finally got the confirmation of my father's service and just received the plaque to add to the monument that has his name and service record. We're thrilled to have this recognition for our father, and very thankful and appreciative to Jon for his dogged determination to solve the mystery of our Dad's service to America. We highly recommend Frain Mortuary.

The Frain Mortuary is a nice, clean, and professional looking facility. These points are partly…read moreresponsible for bringing the rating up after our experience with Jon Frain dropped the rating into the basement. Unfortunately, the behaviors that tanked the rating started with the removal service the night that my mother passed away. Frain Mortuary arrived for removal, and I observed the most unprofessional, uncaring, and condescending person that I had ever met from the mortuary / funeral service business. Jon Frain showed no compassion for my father at the worst time in his life and was verbally abusive toward the hospice nurse that was present doing her job at the time. By the time that Frain had completed the removal process it was around 3:30am and he had requested my dad be in his office at 9:00am to go over the service details. This was without any care or concern for my father's need for sleep and time to process and mourn the situation. Upon arriving that morning, Jon continued to be condescending and acted completely unprofessional during the meeting with my father and I, which included (but was not limited to) gloating about his upcoming spring break plans and alcohol consumption plans, as well as discussing personal and private details about people from town (whom I did not even know). We were deeply disgusted by this. The arrogance and condescension continued the day of the wake, and it was later discovered that the service cards that had been placed out for guests had my mother's name incorrectly printed on it. The day that we put my mother to rest was St.Patricks day and we were greeted that morning by Jon wearing a tacky green, plastic pub style shamrock necklace around his neck, as if he was going to a frat party. Thankfully this was the last that I saw of him. Daniel Frain was the saving grace of the entire experience and is the reason for any stars in this rating at all, but unfortunately for him he was starting from a negative. Daniel Frain completed the services on the day of burial did a fantastic job. If you choose Frain Mortuary after reading all of this, you should request to deal with Daniel, because Jon is too immature and arrogant to be dealing with people at the absolute worst times in their lives.
