I'm confused as hell. All of the reviews are about boots. The website listed sure enough takes you to a site where you can purchase boots. The physical location however, which I have been to, is a gas station and convenient store. I don't recall seeing any western wear on display. Perhaps I missed it? I can only review the physical locations as a gas station and convenient store. The gas, in the past, was not competitive at all. That has changed and the gas is now much more in line with other locations. Still not Murphy Oil or Costco cheap but respectable for a rural gas station. Inside they have a lot of food and drink items. Fountain drinks, slushy machines, bottles and cans. They also have a decent beer selection. Place is clean and the service is good. I would recommend if you are traveling down 64 or 801 in Davie County. read more

Took a whole month to get my order with very little support from the seller. I spent $1k in boots and they ship it via USPS ground... of course it gets lost somehow. Barely a response from customer support. I had to constantly reach out for answers. read more

Ordered some Old Gringo boots that I have been eyeing for a long time and finally pulled the trigger to purchase as they were 25% off. Delivery was prompt and the boots are beautiful. I'm a happy customer and would purchase from RM again. read more

Horrible company to deal with. The pair of boots I tried to order which was an Old Gringo Double D was previously warn and had damage to the boot. They shipped a worn pair of boots to me that I had to return and then the company gave me a hard time when I tried to return the boots. I would never buy from this company again and would not recommend them as an online retailer. Go look at all of the disclaimer and return information. The company is getting returned boots for one reason or another and then trying to pawn off the boots on another customer and charge you a restocking fee. read more

I called them multiple times to order a pair of boots and always got a recording that they would call me back in 24 hours. Never called me back. A waste of time. read more

I am beyond happy with the customer service that I have received from Rivertrail Mercantile!!! I found a pair of Liberty Black booties in Gatlinburg, TN while on a short vacay. Thankfully, they did not have my size and so started my search for these boots that I've been on the lookout for, for 10 years! I contacted the manufacturer who found out which retailers had my size and they contacted Rivertrail on my behalf who rapidly responded to the request. To say that RM went above and beyond is an understatement. They even sent me photos of the boots for me to choose the pair that I want. Unbelievable customer service that is SO appreciated! I can't wait for my order to arrive AND they were less expensive than the pair in Gatlinburg!! North Carolina STRONG! Cindy read more

Rivertrail Mercantile - Corral Navy Blue Lamb Stars Inlay Studs and Fringe - Leather Goods Near Me - Advance, North Carolina

I ordered $300 boots in a different color than a pair I already own. They arrived obviously worn and scuffed on the bottom. I could tell they had been walked on rocks or gravel as there are rock indents on the bottom. I sent an email and they told me they are "distressed" boots and they are supposed to look worn. They said that they could send me pictures of their other boots in stock so I could see the bottom of the soles and that they're all apparently "distressed" on the bottom.....I own another pair of these boots and they came with brand new soles. I do want to keep them as they are a Christmas gift and I don't want to risk not getting another pair in time but they would not offer me a partial refund and proceeded to lie about the fact that all of these boots come "distressed" on the bottom when I literally own another pair of them and know that they in fact do not, and can find pictures on the Internet of this exact boot with brand new soles. read more

This review is for my online experience with River Trail - I live in Los Angeles and had scoured the internet high and low for a specific pair of boots. I found them multiple places but River Trail by far had the lowest prices. I ordered them and that same night I received an email saying that my boots were on their way! I got them in LA 2 days later, free shipping - such an awesome experience. I have to say, I was a little hesitant to buy from them at first though because their website looks pretty janky - just a quick tip to the owners that you may want to update that a little because I almost didn't buy from you for fear of it being a scam site. BUT I did have an awesome experience despite that so thank you! read more

Very disappointed that the restaurant has closed. We had made this a tradition for the past few years...chicken salad and a supply of bottled Grape Nehi and Cheer Wine to bring back to NY. They were closed on Tuesday, and Wednesday...poof...no food, no Cheer Wine, no Grape Nehi. We will never go back. read more

I ordered boots from the website that came pre-worn. They were scuffed on the bottoms, toes, and sides. I have been buying boots from Rivertrail online for about two years now. I have exchanged and returned boots with ease. I use email for c.s. not the phone and they are quick to answer and process everything. I don't know why the other reviewers have such a problem with them, maybe they aren't real reviews? They also have a huge selection and the sales are great. I'm satisfied. read more

Great customer service, great deals super friendly! Been using them for little over 3 years now, and ALWAYS the best price on boots ! They are easy to deal with and really do care about their customers, and that is why I keep coming back read more

Absolutely the WORST company to deal with. I usually order a new pair of boots every 6 months and have a lot of experience with other reputable websites. I will NEVVVER order from this place again. Boots were recieved and looked nothing like the color on their website...no biggie right? Just return them, right? Uuuhhh...yeah if you want to pay a 10% restocking fee and pay for your return shipping for a problem that was not even your fault to begin with. Customer service during my TWO calls to them made me feel like a burden...wasting their precious time. I couldn't believe the way I was spoken to as a customer. It also took them days on end to process the return after the recieved it. My email complaint was never answered. Never again. What a waste of my time and money. read more

Ordered some boots that upon receipt did not fit even though I tried them on in a store before purchasing online. What annoys me the most about this experience with this online retailer is that they actually charge a 10% restocking fee, even for shoes that dont fit! In addition it cost me $30.00 to send them back, plus a $33.00 restocking fee = $63.00 down the tubes. Wont be shopping with a retailer that doesn't offer free returns anymore read more

River Trails Mercantile is in the middle of nowhere, but well worth the trip. The newly constructed building is tastefully rustic. River Trails carries humorous "hillbilly" themed food and gift items, a nice selection of unusual children's toys, seasonal decorative items, quality local art and pottery. The wooden floors and fixtures are as attractive as Bob Timberlake Galleries. The cafe is clean and comfortable and features freshly made sandwiches, desserts, and dipped ice cream. The upstairs (there is an elevator) overlooks the main floor and contains very nice, pricey women's and men's casual clothing and home goods. Oh, and there are also gas pumps and a convenience store. Unique! read more

Absolutely horrible company. They stole my boots I paid hundreds of dollars for! I bought my boots for my wedding and wore them one time before the seams ripped! Took a month for the company to answer my email. They told me I had to send my boots back to be repaired..... It's been months since I sent them my boots and it's like pulling teeth to get them to reply to me asked where my boots are. They just keep saying that it will be a little longer but " should be sent back to me this week", then my boots never come. I got married in these boots and they ment so much to me! Beware of this company, they are THEIVES!!!! read more

Purchased two pair of boots, not realizing that they charged a restocking fee of 10% ... YES 10 % !!!!! ... I purchased items assuming it was in good faith from reliable retailer, I could not have been more wrong. A restocking fee such as this SCREAMS that the retailer can not be trusted nor do they stand by their products. I called to inquire about the fee, and the fact that the boots where purchased as a gift explaining that the 14 day return deadline did not even give ample time to present the boots as a gift and still have amble time to return them should they not be suitable....... The Owner Lauren, could have cared less, stating that we were "stupid consumers", apparently she is correct, When one shops assuming they are dealing with a reputable merchant, one does not expect underhanded thievery on the back end of a purchase. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM, should you find an item on their web page you like, google and find it selling someplace else. Spend your hard earned money at a retailer that stand by both their products, one that has integrity and recognizes the privilege of consumer support for small businesses in the U.S.A. Her lack of respect for their customer base beamed brighter by hanging up in my face when we inquired about her callous attitude in regards to customers. It is a great shame that businesses like this force customers to shop on big business sights such as Amazon who guarantee the consumer a sense of security by offering a FULL refund if the item purchased is not right for them. In closing, I had NO issue with paying the return shipping, but to then add the 10 % restock fees leaves a huge loss of over $60.00 dollars. read more

Be careful about determining a purchase based off of a review. I live in fresno and found boots on a website in North Carolina. The reviews were bad so I detered looking else where, however my heart was set on the boots from rivertrail mercantile at 3313 highway 64 east advance, nc 27006. I decided to call for my old gringo boots and explain my concerns due to bad reviews. I had a gal named Lauren help me she asked for my cell number and sent me pics of the boots. Fantastic, I purchased the boots on the spot and she shipped them to me the same day 4 days later I am loving my first boots ever and they are true to size. Reviews are personal experiences and mine gets a 10 and the 5 stars that is allowed. read more

I ordered a pair of boots in early October and received confirmation that they had shipped. They hadn't arrived by the end of November, so I contacted the store. Absolutely the WORST COMPANY TO PURCHASE FROM. Please please don't spend your hard earned money here. My husband Order a pair of $750 Old Gringo Wyoming boots for my birthday paid $60 for expedited shipping (which was also a nightmare). He ordered a size 8 which I always wear an old gringo I have several pair. When these arrived they were at least a half a size too big, very unusual for the same brand, same size I normally wear! almost didn't seem brand new or stretched. We left two days after my boots came for vacation, summer was just starting. when I got back I packaged up my boots and sent them (you have to pay for your shipping to return) and then wait for their approval when excepting the return. This also takes time. Their return policy is also only 14 days....they are in North Carolina and I'm in California. I called them to tell them I was concerned I wouldn't make it within the 14 days and they said oh it's OK go ahead and send them which I had already done. About a week later I got an email saying my return request was denied , boots are back in the mail coming back to me. Also, I might add I wasn't asking for my money back, I was looking for store credit or boots that fit!! My boots were UNWORN & in the exact same condition I got them in. So disappointed, these boots are absolutely gorgeous:( read more

Great family-oriented country store in the middle of... well, the country. They have all sorts of handmade knick knacks, old timey candy, and other eccentricities. In addition, they have a fairly robust boutique section, with upscale clothing and fun jewelry. They also have a great selection of boots, from western/cowboy to fancy upscale. All sorts of brands and shapes/sizes/colors. They also carry a full array of Carhardt brand items. The owners are super folks and are always welcoming and kind. Highly recommended. read more

I fell in love with a pair of Double D Ranch ammunition boots on-line and no one had them in my size, until I came across Rivertrail Mercantile. Since they had only one pair in my size, I ordered immediately and was really happy to see they had a coupon for another 15% off! At $790 for the pair, that was a significant savings and made theirs the lowest price anywhere. They came today and are even prettier than shown and fit perfectly. I'm thrilled! Thanks Rivertrail Mercantile!!! read more

A very cheap price for the boots with Free shipping, and a quick delivery. However, the problem I have is that I ordered 10ee boots, but what was sent was 10e. I could not even get the boot unto my left foot. When I call about the discrepancy, I was told that the 10e & 10ee were the same size. Liar, Liar, Liar. There is almost a quarter inch difference in width. Trying to break the boots in by going bare footed. Well such is life. Monies lost, time to more on. read more

DON'T ORDER ANYTHING ONLINE! I ordered some Old Gringo boots and they did not fit. I got hit with a 10% restocking fee and had to pay for return shipping. Basically it cost me almost $100 to try on these boots. Bad business and a rip off. Even if you exchange for another size or store credit you still have to pay the shipping AND you have to get the return back to them within 14 days of receiving it. read more

Horrible experience with a self-serving company. NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY. I purchased a pair of Old Gringos on sale, but the zippers were defective, and they had to be returned. I ordered a second pair of another design, but they didn't fit. I asked for a refund, but the Company informed me that an outlandish restocking fee would be taken from my refund unless I opted for exchange or credit. I asked if I could just exchange for another pair like the originals and call it even. They said "no" because their staff could not keep it straight. Why? Are the staff members handicapped to the degree of being disabled? How do all the other companies "keep it straight" with exchanges? To make a long story short, I re-ordered the original boots and paid an extra $100. I paid the extra and closed my account. They never responded to my complaints. They have NO CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE. I do not expect this company to stay in business. I have never in my life encountered such self-serving policies that amount to nothing less than extortion. I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS AGAIN. All sorts of decent companies carry the same merchandise. Don't be tricked by an advertised bargain. They do not have your best interests at heart. read more

I should have read the reviews before I ordered from this company. I ordered a pair of boots for my wedding, but when they arrived they were too small. I emailed and asked about the return policy, but no one bothered to respond to my inquiry. Eventually, I called and asked about the return policy, and the customer service rep told me to simply ship the boots back (at my expense, of course), and they would refund the purchase. Well, after the boots arrived at the company, I received a voicemail that they only accept returns for 14 days after the item is delivered. Needless to say, I'm not happy that I spent money to ship the boots back, and that they will not refund my money. If they'd told me that they wouldn't accept refunds after 14 days, I could have tried to sell them on Amazon, which is where I found the exact same boots for a much cheaper price, and they are a perfect fit. Don't shop here. There are better, more customer friendly options out there. read more
