Fishing, paddleboats and lots of walking areas and doggy park. The frogs, crickets and cicadas serenade you to sleep at night. Fun to watch the ducks and geese in the pond too. The best shady sites in my opinion are; #42,#43,#51,#52,#70&#72. We look forward to coming back here again and will let others know about this wonderful place in Mississippi. Just an FYI for future campers, you will receive an e-mail after your first night in the park, "inviting you stay another night" and if you choose to stay another night the e-mail offers you $10 off, I did not see the e-mail until we left the park so the nice cashier did Not give me $10 off, that is obviously my fault for not keeping up on my e-mails. Curious as to why the camp manager crammed all the campers right next to each other (3 ft between campers) when there were obviously 25 open spots across the road to where she could have spaced us all a few sites apart? Did not like that and I am sure my next door neighbor campers did not like hearing each others doors open/close & other common noises. Should take one star away for that.

If you happen to have any issues applying a discount code while making a reservation online (ie: Good Sam, etc.) don't hesitate to make a phone call to the campground and one of the managers will make the refund for you. I believe the sole purpose of parks like this is to improve a child's socialization skills. As you can see from the pictures, the equipment wasn't your regular sliding board, seesaw, or swing set. The colors and the shapes of these items are to capture the child's eyes and lead to interaction. I don't know if I got any pictures, but musical instruments were place in the play area for the free spirit child. Also, there is a child museum on the grounds, which we didn't get a chance to visit, but the children had fun, and that was the goal.

Even if you don't own ANY camping gear, you could either buy it there on the spot or rent it! Everyone from the park is VERY friendly! Everyone from the park admin, to security, to Yogi himself!!! You all made our stay wonderful! They have everything set up for a great time with family! The lake is the main attraction to this area but there is SO MUCH MORE than that. You have your kiddy playgrounds, pool, miniature golf, boats to explore the lake, fishing, golf carts equipped with off road tires to explore the grounds, cabins, and THAT'S not even mentioning all the activities they have planned for all around the clock fun such as MOVIE times with snacks, KARAOKE, and so much more that we didn't even get to check out because ALL our time was taken up with park activities! Your phone hotspot won't even work there. Food was cheap but out of everything. Didn't even have sugar. The Kids activities sucked. Art class consisted of giving one sea shell and some wal-mart paint. Dance party was non-existant. Waterslide is not huge. It is just plasic down a small hill. Everything you do is an extra cost. The water park is fine if you do day pass but the price of actually staying there is not worth it. The staff (which are very younger) are actually very nice and trained to say, I'm sorry, very well. so kuddo's on that piece of customer service! PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

I…read morelive on the Eastern USA, where we have experienced the Revolutionary War of Independence and the Civil War. We are war heavy on this side of the country. I have visited most major battlegrounds, forts, courthouses and buildings from these two eras. I don't really consider myself a history buff, yet I have visited several historical places. This park is certainly the most beautiful monument dedicated to war. It is also in a very beautiful setting. Abraham Lincoln donated these lands to preserve the history of the wars, and that was a great decision. Vicksburg is not really an easy access commute from anywhere, visiting here requires effort, and this park is well worth it.

Incredible place to soak in a key military battle of the Civil war. The grounds and surrounding hillsides are beautiful and well worth the drive through. Our visit culminating with seeing the gunboat ironclad Cairo. I learned so very much about the ironclads in general and the Cairo specifically. If you are any sort of history or Civil War buff this is a must see.
