The place is alive, man! Asheville has no shortage of magical spaces that kind of transcend space/time when you wander them. This one is a doozy! Walk down the stone earth entry to the grotto below and tell me you didn't just schloop through an unseen hole in the veil only to emerge into someplace much further than it looked from "out there." It's like the TARDIS of nurseries, it's bigger on the inside. A bit north of UNC Asheville on Merrimon, the only negative thing that I could mention is that parking is a little tight and close to that road, but that's a pretty common gripe in the 828, but I had to mention it for credibility. I mean this is a Yelp! review fercryinoutloud it can't all be pixies and rainbows. They have pots. And plants. Indoor and outdoor types. Annuals and perennials. Gifts and creativity abound, if you can abide. The staff that I encountered were big on hospitality, helpfulness, and that Southern Appalachian humility that I respectfully embrace. We left with a giant clay pot and a half-price Aloe that is entering the rehabilitation porch at home tomorrow at sun-up. Oh, there is a chicken coop just a bit farther out back, past the little creek and through the back greenhouse. Totally worth a peek while you're meandering about. From the looks of it, this place is evolving and growing. I can't wait to see it next time I come. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

I found Thoughtfully Curated through an online search and reached out to them via email. Ten minutes later the owner responded back confirming that they can definitely take care of my needs including delivery to our hotel as well as a few suggestions. Five minutes later everything was ordered and confirmed. On our big day the owner texted me a picture of the flowers (they looked great) and confirmed that now would be a good time to send them over as we were wrapping up breakfast and a bit of work. When we got back to the room the arrangement was in a prominent spot and after a few moments my lovely wife took a double take and expressed her amazement of "me" being able to make this happen in an out of town environment. I said that I had some help with some new Asheville friends and told her the story. Later in the day the hotel Concierge told me that she really enjoyed helping me with getting the flowers into the room and that she had a great conversation with the florist owner (she delivered the flowers herself) whom she had been trying to meet with on another matter. Serendipity. You would think things would end here but with a high touch level of customer service, the owner Mara answered my text about how to care for the arrangement (they lasted several weeks) and how to get them home on our 200 mile drive back to Atlanta. She even asked me about where we had been and where we were going during the remainder of our visit. She even suggested a few hiking and walking trails in town and in the nearby mountains that even our hotel Concierge was not aware of. I think that we have a florist for life now in Asheville.
