Riverside Park is one of my favorite places to walk for miles along the Hudson River. There are gardens, playgrounds, piers, dog runs, statues and other historic landmarks. I bring snacks, water, and I wear comfortable shoes and clothes. When we used to have seasons named Spring and Fall I enjoyed the park the most. I think we only have two seasons now. They match the names on my faucet. HOT and COLD! I'm recommending a visit to the park.

I live closest to Riverside Park so I spend a lot of time there. My thinking spot is the 79th street pier, and I always enjoy walking past the Hudson River and admiring the water. I've also enjoyed taking walks with my family and friends during our free time with the dog. I've also taken tennis lessons at the 96th street Clay Court. At first, I didn't love the fact that my thinking spot was supposed to be closed until 2025 but it looks as if it opened early. That is perfect timing with the weather getting hotter. I will be coming by a lot more often.

When people think of a NYC park, they usually think Central Park.  This park is an oasis on its own. We strolled along it beginning at 72 and Riverside. A beautiful park which is very quiet. You look out across the river and you see NJ and further north, you can see the George Washington bridge. I love that its dog friendly; has interesting exhibits planted into the ground (see pictures), basketball courts (we saw kids at a camp here), tennis courts and more. There are also interesting statues and great benches to sit on as you go! Why not bring your breakfast or lunch here and relax! On our stroll, we even saw a motorist with a flat tire and offered our help -but she was ok and calling road side assistance! People are really friendly so go and enjoy!

When people think of a NYC park, they usually think Central Park. But, there is another large park in Manhattan that is nearly as nice and large to take a stroll and relax in. Located on the West side of Manhattan, it runs for miles alongside the Hudson River. With views of the palisades on the NJ side, as well as the George Washington Bridge when you get further north, it's not too shabby. There is a skatepark, a volleyball court, tennis court, dog run, a conservancy, cafe, clean restrooms, etc. And it's typically less crowded than that other, more famous park. It's just a great place for a long, relaxing stroll.

On our recent visit to NYC, we were meeting our friends from the Upper West Side and had a chance to check out Riverside Park. It's a hidden gem and a nice break from the busy city. You don't see many tourists here, so it's not very busy even on nice, sunny days. The park is located along the Hudson River, and it offers a good view of New Jersey across the water. When we were there, we were lucky to catch a live rock band performance, which was a cool bonus. There are a lot of flowers in the park and, in mid-April, there were plenty of tulips and daffodils. And, of course, all cherry trees in the park were in full bloom. It definitely added some color to the park and made the atmosphere more enjoyable. Not the most amazing park I've ever been to, but the views, flowers, and relaxed atmosphere make it worth a visit.

Riverside Park feels quieter, more serene, and less crowded than Central Park. It's good for walking, biking, roller blading, jogging, friends, families, and dogs. Although sunsets on the Hudson River can be gorgeous and magical in this neighborhood oasis with a waterfront view, it's better to enjoy parks during daylight hours. After taking the stairs or a winding path down, I have walked along the wide promenade and enjoyed the pretty flowers and trees (including cherry blossoms in the spring) and summertime food and drinks at Ellington in the Park at West 105th Street. There is also a Boat Basin Cafe at West 79th Street. I've enjoyed both food places. There are dog parks. There are playgrounds like the playgrounds near West 91 Street with hippos and West 97 street with 2 dinosaurs--a triceratops and a hadrosaur. If you go down another level, there is a volley ball court, soccer field, baseball field, and a skate park at West 108th street. There are probably more athletic fields which I have not yet discovered. About the photos: It is afternoon so the street lamps are unlit. But if you position the sun inside a street lamp, it has a beautiful glow. In addition to playing hide and seek with the sun, I took a few other photos of trees and squirrels as of early March. This is my first review. Because Central Park has so many more reviews, I wanted to add one for Riverside Park. Hopefully this was helpful and all will go well.

I love riverside park! It's so green and is a great way to take a step back from the city. It's great that there are so many courts for people to play sports and playgrounds for kids. The 91st street garden is one of my favorites spots due to growing up watching You've Got Mail with my boss and the closing scene takes place there. I love running up and down the pathways. I only wish that there were more entrances and exits because sometimes I miss them and have to wander around for a while longer until I can get out.

Besides that, I never paid much mind to the park, especially in light of the fact that it's not in my stomping grounds. Nevertheless, I had just finished brunching nearby and since it was such a gorgeous day out, I decided to take a walk through the park and check it out. MSP is not large - the center of it is a large green space with paths on the perimeter that contain walking paths and benches. In addition to the Shake Shack, there's also a small seating area nearby where you can sit and eat, or just hang out. The park is ideal of people watching, eating your lunch, or just walking around a space that contrasts the hustle and bustle of the surrounding areas. Because of the weather, it was a little crowded but still pleasant. Overall, MSP is fine - it's not worth coming to unless you're in the area IMO, but a pleasant spot nonetheless.

It also hosts some public art exhibits, like one in the park through March 29, 2026 - Larry Bell: "Improvisations in the Park." My husband and I walked through the park a couple of times when we stayed in the neighborhood this past weekend. We spent our time walking through the park on one occasion to see the works included in the Larry Bell exhibit. Overall, a fine park for a walk through as a tourist, but probably more of a park for locals to enjoy the outdoors, dog run, and playground. In warmer weather, it's a nice park to sit and enjoy the sunshine or even grab lunch (from the Shake Shack in the park).

We were on our 4th game of 5 on 5 on this slanted, slippery court with double rims as the Midtown skyline looked over us. We had gone 3-0 and already on wobbly legs but wanted one more to really push ourselves to exhaustion and be WHOOPED. A group of 5 17 year olds showed up and I was lowkey like damn I don't wanna play these little kids for our last game but whatever, they got next. We were going back and forth, and to be fair they were actually pretty good but just too frail to give us any problems. At 5'10 174 lbs, I'm a BIG guard. I'm left handed, but shot a right handed floater fading to my right as I'm trying to get better. If you can hit a weak hand floater on the run you will be tough to stop. I bricked it and this little 17 year old kid goes "that's a TERRIBLE shot" looking at me dead in the eyes. Like bro y'all are losing and you suck why you talking? He woke me up and I started actually trying really hard and lowkey busting their ass... but tbh normally I'm not even that good. It was just one of those days where everything was falling. I hit a 3 and yelled out "THAT'S A LAYUP." I drove hard left, euro stepped and hit a tough finish through 2 and yelled "I"M TOO BIG," while flexing. I switched onto little homie and he took a terrible stepback shot after I turned him 3 times and bricked it. I just whispered to him "I don't even gotta say nothing after that one it speaks for itself" which really pissed him off. Then I hit the game winning 3 and did the Dame wave to him as he walked off the court PISSED as hell. I sat down and then he got the courage to say "STOP TALKING SO MUCH" while he put his hand together to mimic me YAPPING. I almost stood up and said "HOW BOUT U GET WIN?" But then I realized I'm a grown ass man and there is absolutely no reason to be jawing at this little kid on a beautiful Friday in New York City. I just kind of laughed at myself and asked what is wrong with me lol. All in all, these runs were kind of weak and this court is in horrendous condition. The court on the westside highway is still my favorite in the city. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews
