The smaller playground was too babyish for my three year old so we decided to brave the older playground so he could play with big brother. He handled the slides like a pro, but I had to spot him on all of the climbing apparatuses. I was thankful to have their grandma my husband and on the playground with me because my toddlers were running around like feral animals and I had a difficult time keeping up with them constantly testing their limits on the playground equipment! There is plenty of parking along the playground as well as benches for the parents. This is a great spot for kids to burn off some energy before or after dinner! It can be a bit confusing to navigate towards the basketball/volleyball court area, as there's a large library (I think?) you pass first to get through. The GPS will correctly lead you to the appropriate area. There is ample parking and restrooms on site at the park near the courts. Everyone was respectful of others sharing the courts, so we all had a great time. Definitely recommend.

The date…read moreand I were amazed and shocked at the size, number of people, and layout of this place when we visited this past Tuesday evening. Even the kid's playground area had fancy equipment I never thought would be in a park. This place is definitely a hangout area for high schoolers. The skating/in-line skating pits, volleyball pit, and basketball courts were filled as if there were tournaments occurring. This area is in a different part of the park and away from the kid's playground. There is another area (football field) that we didn't get to visit, but I can imagine it to be quite large. There was also a large building that seemed like a library filled with children's books, but I'm not too positive what this could be. I believe there are also walking trails and picnic areas as well. Sadly, I don't think there are tennis courts here. :( This park is definitely great for both the young and old. The best part is that this place is very clean and well lit! This definitely warrants more future visits.

I was searching for a nice local playground. When I saw the YMCA, I thought there had to be one…read moreclose by. When I saw the Dekalb Parks and Recreation sign, I knew I hit a jackpot. I wasn't searching for the latest playground tech, just enough to keep my toddlers entertained. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived to this playground. It has fun things for all ages. I wish it would get a good pressure wash at least once/year. Nonetheless, it has swings, slides, rock climbing, monkey bars, giant swing, giant spinner, zip-lining, and tent areas for grilling and/or entertaining. Did I mention the YMCA has a water park? It's a special bonus. We'll be back for sure!

Since it is relatively new, all the equipment is in good condition and well functioning. Honestly, there are a lot of things to keep kids occupied from swings to slides. I can keep myself busy if you ask me :) There are some benches to sit around/have a picnic but overall not very big. The park is gated so it's fairly secure and there is plenty of parking. There is an adjoining open area if you want to get your dogs and let them play around (note: this area is not a true dog park as there is no place to throw doggy poop other than going back into Ethridge park and throwing it in there). I believe they have some events there too. Overall a very nice park!
