When I got there I was able to meet and thank her in person. The place had a nice feel, good vibes plus I didn't feel like I'd end up on the Next 48 or anything. Nothing out of the ordinary was done, just kindness, and good customer service. Hi, I was sent to see you...I want the 18 bottles of Drappier Carte D'or that you have in stock. His response, let me check...no only 11. I said, last night the gentlemen said you had 18 bottles in stock. He didn't bother checking just said the system is wrong. I said I'll take whatever you have, he gets a cart and starts passing the bottles, one just slipped out of his hand and fell to the floor. I said I can't pick it up I have a bad back. His response just floored me "why didn't you bring someone to help you?". I expected help here was my reply, he shut up. At the register I took out one bottle out of the cart and said I have eleven total. You have to take all of them out was the response. OK took all of them out. Next came another cashier with an attitude - how you going to carry them. My response they come in cases of 6. Ok I give you two case, again with an attitude like she was doing me a favor...another guy helped me to the car without an attitude. I called the next day and asked if they have any Drappier in stock, sure as hell yes, they did have 6 more bottles in stock. Michael makes placing an order genuinely enjoyable. He has that increasingly rare ability to make you feel not merely like a customer, but like a valued one. There is a warmth, class, and old-school graciousness about him that you simply don't encounter very often anymore. He remembers, he engages, he is accommodating, and he understands hospitality in a way that cannot be taught from a training manual. I truly appreciate him, and I sincerely hope the new owners recognize what they have in Michael and do everything possible to keep him there. Employees like him are not interchangeable; they are the reason customers develop loyalty to a business in the first place. And if anyone thinks they're simply going to find someone better than Michael, I have news for them: good luck with that! He is an absolute gem.

Before I could finish explaining what I needed, the sales assistant cut me off and said he doesn't drink Chardonnay, then started pushing a different wine he personally preferred. I told him I wasn't interested in his personal taste and just wanted a Chardonnay. He responded rudely, saying he couldn't help me because he doesn't like or drink that wine, then just walked off and left me standing in the aisle. A wine shop employee should have broad product knowledge regardless of personal preference. Refusing to help a customer because a wine isn't to your own taste is unprofessional, and the attitude made it worse. I left without the bottles I came in for and won't be going back.

When I come here to shop, there is usually soft music playing and the attendants don't bombard me asking what I'm looking for before I've had a chance to scope out the selection. They let me browse slowly and are available when I have questions. That's how I like to shop.
