Dumbells only go up to 30KG which really isn't much of a struggle. It only has one barbell bench press which doubles as a squat rack which is normally being used. Only one Olympic bar (20KG) which is the one being used on the bench/squat rack meaning no deadlifts. The people in there seem to spend more time on their phones while occupying the benches than lifting on them. On the plus side, it is very cheap, open 24 hours, has CCTV so there should be no fear of going at night and is very clean. It's not the worst gym around (nowhere near as bad as Planet fitness) but as a serious lifter, the skinny teenagers and part-time-once-a-week-gym-goers just get in my way so it is a big no no for me.

The…read moregym is well equipped and has a wide variety of classes, Yoga with James Bradford is the best I have ever taken part in. The hulaerobics class is also well worth a try even if you think you won't be able to hula hoop it is surprisingly easy to pick up (and a huge amount of fun). To be honest it doesn't really feel like exercise until the next day when your abs really feel like they have had a workout! The showers and changing rooms have always been clean and facilities such as the pool, sauna and jaccuzi make the place a bit more special.

The silver on the mirrors is peeling off on about a 1/3rd of the wall mirrors and the ceiling panels are all bent and marked. As for the equipment - Virgin are very much a 'free-weights' & 'Cables' only gym which can make it very difficult for people starting out, or those who are not dedicated gym goers. The free weights section is taken up by a group of bone-heads most nights so its very difficult to get on them - even when there are as few as 14 people in the gym.

When you're in the pool you can see everything - you've got a good view of the bar and courts. Its a good place to relax. They also have a golf course which is great as not many gyms have this. They have lots of exercise classes too which is great as I preer classes to using the gym equipment. Classes are fun and it keeps me motivated. This place has got a spa as well. You can get pampered there. It has got student memberships and also membership for younger kids/young people as well.

The pool is perfect for aqua aerobics (classes are offered) as it is shallow, but it is also suitable for swimming lengths. Although the pool is very nice one negative aspect is how overlooked it is. The gym area looks down onto it while the reception, bar and squash courts also have full view of the pool. The squash courts are great fun too, as is the golf course. So, if you get bored of the gym there's lots of other exercise options.

Ok so I went here to play Racquetball, and it's a nice place…read more There's plenty of parking space and the staff are lovely. They have a bar, so if you want some drinks after you play then it's great for that. This place shuts at 10, which is super handy because my friend I play with often finishes work late. On the flip side it's slightly more costly than my local place, and the facilities in the changing rooms aren't as good. They seem slightly dated and there's tiny saunas which didn't really seem to be doing much. There's something refreshing about going for a sweat after a game and this didn't really do much which was a shame! They do have several rooms for squash and a small viewing area, though it's not very big or good for sitting, if you needed a viewing area. Briefly went in the gym and it looked alright, fairly modern if small! The outside area with dry ski slope and obstacle course in the trees is what I want to try out!
