Its an interesting combination of old and new that combines history with the future. The old - The original cemetery contained 45 grave sites although only a handful of the markers survive today. Dates on some of the remaining ones date back to the early 1800's and it was originally a family cemetery for the family that lived on the site before it became Wright State University. The new - In the 1970s, expansion of the cemetery was approved for the medical center to inter the bodies of those who had donated their bodies to the medical school. The boy's grandparents had done this and so it was nice to find the brick honoring them and remembering how nice it is that they wanted to continue to do good in death as they had in life. It was a lovely way to honor family members, and as it was Memorial Day, they had been decorated with flags and some family members were there with flowers remembering their loved ones.

We met with Melanie who was compassionate, caring, and explained everything thoroughly. We felt as though we were a part of her family. Dad's service was very nice, and the funeral home is spacious and beautiful. We were able to bring in donuts for the visitation, and coffee and water were provided. Even after the service, the funeral home went above and beyond. A woman posted horrible words and death wishes to my mother (who also nearly lost her life in the house fire). We contacted the funeral home who promptly removed the terrible comments. Unfortunately, the woman and her mother continue to harass this wonderful business, posting negative reviews and demanding that they post their disgusting comments on my father's memorial wall. We never imagined that we'd have to deal with such tasteless behavior, and we're mortified that Melanie and Sara have to deal with this. Overall, this is a very caring and compassionate company that genuinely cares about the family and their loved one's final wishes.

After years of driving by almost every day and hearing how AMAZING it is in almost every season, I decided to finally check it out. Picked the PERFECT fall day, while the leaves were still PEAK, and first drove then got out and wandered through some of the most gorgeous NATURE the "Field of Springs" has to offer. Jagged cliffs and rock formations, an amazing variety of trees, birds a plenty, and a lovely hidden waterfall are only the most "obvious" gems to be discovered here. The final resting place of generations of Springfielders (?) is surprisingly TEEMING with LIFE and WELL worth a visit if you're in the area. I believe they offer tours, which I might just have to investigate, so I'm able to see more than what I saw on my quick, only SLIGHTLY creeeeped out recent visit... i ordered plaques for my church and for the dabney pool at northwest princeton recreation center…read more we add names to the plaque. it is so easy to do that, i just email dayton stencil works with the information i want on the small metal plaque and they order it and call me when it is ready. when i needed to add a new plaque, because the old one was full, they came out to look at it to be sure they got the right color. i'm impressed that they keep such good records, because it has been a few years between the time i made the first plaque and the years that it took to fill it up. the employees are regulars so you don't have to learn new people every time you order.
