It was the best possible experience it could have been considering it was such a sad time for myself and my family. The premises are clean and appropriately furnished for the purposes. I feel they prepared my father's body for the service in a very good and respectful manner. I am rating what I saw of the services they provided. As for dealing with them in terms of payment and other fine details I have no idea because my grandmother took care of that matter.

This is the final resting place for several Revolutionary War soldiers including Elijah Beardsley, a participant in the Boston Tea Party, one of only 116 known participants; James Kelly, grandfather of industrialist, O. S. Kelly. James Dement and other early pioneers are also buried here, but no interment records can be found to indicate their exact burial. In 1863, Charles Anthony, a War of 1812 veteran and noted attorney, became the final person to be buried in the venerable Dement Cemetery.

Jagged cliffs and rock formations, an amazing variety of trees, birds a plenty, and a lovely hidden waterfall are only the most "obvious" gems to be discovered here. The final resting place of generations of Springfielders (?) is surprisingly TEEMING with LIFE and WELL worth a visit if you're in the area. I believe they offer tours, which I might just have to investigate, so I'm able to see more than what I saw on my quick, only SLIGHTLY creeeeped out recent visit... Frank is so wonderful to work with and you really feel he cares and wants to do whatever he can to make things special. Where some funeral homes might make a dvd of photos to play on a TV, they have multiple projectors around the room creating a totally immersive experiences with not just pictures. They may project a flag for a veteran or an image of flowers for someone who liked to garden. The facility is huge and nicely appointed with lots of places to just get away when you need to. The children's room is the largest I've seen and they give you the run of the place to treat like home. They have a giant family tree painted on the wall and frame up personal photos and attach to the tree. If you follow them on Facebook they do tons of community outreach. My mother in law paid for the funeral and for that reason I was not even talked to by the person handling him. it was all about money from the start. I feel like it was borderline illegal for his wife to not to be consulted. Moving on to the funeral and viewing. I saw a man that didn't look like my husband from is color, size of nostrils, the extra skin hanging on the side of his face. He didn't look comfortable to me. As I approached the casket the smell over took me. By the end od the service the smell was so bad people were gagging. The entire service his mouth was purging. The experience was traumatic and I am beginning therapy due to this experience.
