Ladies, men and a family washroom. Open concept dining with a Window view from the dining to the kitchen, and on the other side a modern stylish bar. People started rolling in around 5:00pm for the dinner rush. Everyone i saw entering was seated promptly, quick. Do they serve alcohol? Yes! Do they accept reservations? Yes, and i recommend making a reservation on opentable. Do they offer any live music or entertainment? Multiple tv screens in the bar area; with one tv having that nice relaxing fire burning channel. Is the restaurant suitable for families, children, large groups? Yes! There is also a larger round table near the back of the dining for that larger group. The children had the Lil' Mike burger with fries. Their fries are delicious that is all that my youngest wanted to eat first. And my oldest only wanted to eat their Lil mike burger - i did not have to fight him to eat. I had the classic Mr. Mike burger and i actually finished it. The Perfect size burger! Lodge chips for starters was very delicious, the dip that comes with has a kick to it. So make sure you have a refill handy! Overall, love the elegant, fashionable compact restaurant.

I appreciate that they have some decent vegetarian options and went for the Southwest Bowl (corn, feta, pico de gallo, black beans, mole, chipotle, avocado, coconut rice, crispy tortilla) with tofu in place of chicken. It was good, but next time I might ask for the pico on the side because it was distractingly onion-y for my liking. Lots of tasty sounding cocktails, but I opted for a NA passion fruit soda that caught my eye. Just the right amount of sweetness for me. Our server was friendly and attentive. A good lunch spot that I'd be happy to come back to for dinner or brunch as well.

We went to Browns Socialhouse in Spruce Grove for a special birthday celebration. We all ordered drinks including a bottle of wine, and we of course ordered entrees as well. We had an amazing time enjoying our meals, drinks, etc. and our server was AMAZING! This brings us to the finale, where a "Happy Birthday" dessert was brought to our table with sparklers, and we thought, "Wow! That is so nice!" However, Browns charged us full price for this dessert we never ordered. I'd actually made a special dessert to have later, so this was not necessary, especially since we didn't order it. I think if you're going to surprise your patron(s), they shouldn't be charged for said surprise. That is what took two stars off of this review because with the cost of everything nowadays, you shouldn't be allowed to do this. #poortaste

Chinese Street Cart Style Skewers…read more I recently checked out @siancitybbqbar and it made me remember that time when I checked out Northern BBQ House back in 2014. I wasn't a huge foodie back then, but I did post a photo collage of it. Does anyone remember Northern BBQ House? I could be wrong, but I believe they were the first restaurant that was serving up chinese street cart style skewers in Edmonton and they were located in the same spot where Spirit Bistro is currently located in Chinatown. I was pretty excited to check this place out, but at the same time sad, and that's because close to half the menu was either sold/blacked out. @yeg.baking and I ended up ordering the house special lamb and pork belly skewers, squid and bbq bun slice. I wasn't in the mood for noodles, as I came for the skewers, but she ordered the sour and spicy sweet potato noodles. Unfortunately, they did not have any sweet potato noodles, so she went with rice noodles. She shared and gave me a small bowl of the noodle soup to try. Check out her page to see her post (including a photo of the noodle soup) about Sian City Bbq Bar. With what I did try, the house special lamb and pork belly skewers was my favourite. The squid was also good and was very tender. The fish ball, fish tofu and bbq bun slice was good, but I don't think I'll order them next time. I believe all the skewers was seasoned with the same chinese cumin spice blend and it was spicy. The noodle soup was actually pretty good and I enjoyed the broth. Yes, I sweated after eating a few skewers. Lol. Overall, it's a pretty good place to get some chinese street cart style skewers, and hopefully when I come back next time they will have more items on the menu that isn't sold/blacked out.

They have a decent sized venue for special events, and a number of different seating areas. The washrooms are well maintained and include different hand drying options which is nice. The menu has a good amount of variety for a campus pub/bar, so that's nice. I'm not sure about the alcoholic drinks menu, mostly as I wasn't planning on drinking, but the non-alcoholic beverages were plentiful and a fair number of these included unlimited refills.
