I rang them to book a place for my parents and from that first interaction the service was very good. They made sure there was a parking space for them when they arrived and showed them around the beautiful old house. There's a sitting room and honesty bar if you ever get bored of your room. They opted to pay extra for cooked breakfast and really enjoyed it. Loses the 5th star because its a bit out of the city centre which meant taxi rides.

What an absolute find! If you ever find yourself in Cardiff (which my partner assures me is now a…read morelot different and nicer than it was in the past), you HAVE to stay here. Forget the chintzy chains or the high class hotels that just treat you like a number, you become one of the family instantly. This terrace house was recently renovated into a boutique 7 room hotel. The rooms are well appointed, with free wifi, a TV and a DVD player. There's even an ipod dock / speaker for your Apple music goons. The beds were definitely comfy, and the linen fresh. The only thing I'd say was that the pillows were a bit too thick for my liking and gave me a bit of a neck crick the next day. (I usually sleep with relatively thin pillows though, and so at least maybe having that option would have been nice). Anyway, Helen greets you at the door (no matter what time of day you come - we were the last guests for the day) with the greatest smile and a gigantic dollop of Cardiff charm. We were knackered from a day of walking in the Brecon Beacons and were promptly shown how all the amenities in our room worked. The showers were great and everything looked new and well cleaned. The breakfast was continental, and while it would have been nice to have a fully cooked option included in the price (it costs £5 more and you have to order it the evening before), but a brief chat with Helen makes you understand why. She's passionate about the business and treating guests like family. This boutique hotel gives you great value for money, and a top notch level of service - although almost - just almost bordering on it being too much. Helen also knows the Cardiff area well and can be a great source of information for your travels in Cardiff. Parking is available and reservable in the rear of the house and the back room is well stocked with things to entertain you. I'd recommend Room 2 because of it's little veranda outside for you to sit in (when it's not pouring out like it was when we were there). Definitely will return and be a part of the history of Hotel One Hundred.

Oh, this place. I…read morewas brought here as a surprise birthday present (I hate surprises, they make me horrendously nervous feeling unprepared, but this was an excellent one). We arrived later than we hoped, and were greeted with a warm and cheerful welcome, and directed to where we could find dinner in the area so late, which was gratefully received advice! We carried our bags up the narrow winding steps and awed over the room before rushing out for food. The cabin room, where we stayed, has the best views, and to appreciate this further, the four poster bed is raised to chest height on me (I'm 5'4"/5"), so you wake up to a view out to the estuary. The bathroom was lovely, with an excellent modern shower, all the rooms were adorned with ships in bottles, paintings, shells and various seaside memorabilia. The bed was comfy, there was a fridge outside on the landing with milk, and space to put your wine and bubbly, and a noisy lighthouse biscuit tin. You can take your bubbles up to the roof, and enjoy the bulb room, or the outside area with the hot tub, and tardis- you heard me right. I had an excellent night's sleep, and breakfast was amazing. Sharing a long table with the other guests, everything was lovely, including the true B&B judge, decent, not slimy, high pork content sausages, yay! And it was checked if we all liked dogs before a very friendly collie joined us. There is a fair amount of ghost banter, which isn't my thing, but we kept politely quiet, because it's interesting to hear all the same. I would definitely recommend this place, but you definitely need a car to get here and do the surrounding things- but a reasonably short drive to beautiful cardiff is great.

Off the beaten track, down a long and winding road off the M4, its location is so secret even the locals don't know where it is. The Grade II-listed lighthouse is zombie B-movie gold: shabby-chic cabins, crashing waves, stone spiral staircase and a resident Dalek. Write the final chapter, jiggle about on the waterbed and throw your last penny into the wishing well. Chilled out and deceptively roomy, writers and couples will be in their element traipsing from bed to dining room to rooftop, taking in the panoramic views of the Welsh hills. The incense wafts in the hippies who come for the flotation tank, sauna and healing. Fight over five themed rooms and the outdoor yurt. Soak until your toes wrinkle in the jacuzzi, have a Love In or a movie-fest, float weightlessly in the tank or splash out in Cardiff. Owner Frank plays the perfect, jolly host and tells how he restored the semi-derelict 180-year-old lighthouse and got married here. Lows: *Hard to find and the winding dirt track is perilous in icy conditions *It's more laidback than luxurious, and they could do with overhauling some of the outdated theming *Low water pressure - the lack of a power shower is a major letdown *There's no dressing room next to the hot tub which makes the climb up and down the stairs cold and slippery *No dinner/room service Highs *Homely, cosy vibe and top notch service - even the lighthouse dog accompanies you for breakfast *Peaceful and romantic place to chillax, with plenty to do onsite, from hot tub star spotting to curling up with a DVD *Big breakfast in bright airy dining room with great views

We booked a twin room as there was very little available in Cardiff that weekend because of the football. Amazingly however Andrew pushed the beds together to make a massive double for us!! I sadly didn't make it to breakfast as it finished at 9:30 and my lazy little self was enjoying a lie in, my other half did however and reported back that it was good. Thankyou for the very enjoyable stay
