A friend of mine got married here in the fall. I stayed at the adjacent hotel in their room block, which made it easy to navigate. Their ceremony was behind the casino in the amphitheater area. It was a really cool backdrop with the convergence of the rivers behind them. Several little boats stopped to watch the ceremony and cheer on the bride and groom. Honestly - coolest wedding I've ever gone to. The reception area on the second floor of the casino was well-appointed and the food was pretty good. I got a little turned around going from the casino to my room to grab the card I forgot to bring with me, and got ID'd on my way back in, but ultimately the folks working were able to help me find my way. This is as close to Vegas as you will get in Pittsburgh. It's a very clean, well maintained and vibrant casino with everything you'd expect. There's even a Starbucks and many food options in addition to the alcohol at the bars. I really love you restaurant called, FLIPT with their burgers and shakes. My review is for the banquet area as my brother's wedding was held here on August 16, 2025 The entire wedding experience was phenomenal at the Rivers. Clark was awesome to work with in the coordinating. The food was fantastic for wedding food. We started out with a crab cake (which several guests thought it was the main course. Salads with a lemon pepper dressing were next brought out. The main course was a filet. It was almost as good as a fancy steakhouse filet. I know that there are a variety of people (some Rivers employees, some not) that work to make a wedding work, but everything and everyone came together to make it a perfect day. read more

We have been having a good time here and have joined in on some of the smoking since my last post LMAO a drunk cig hits sometimes. When I'm sober here I still hate the smoke. A fun spot. We spend a lot of money here and occasionally we hit for something. It's a big casino with tons of games. Some of the employees are really lovely and we have met some really wonderful people here in passing. I have a really fun time playing all the different games here and enjoying the wine and other drinks I do think the food options are still limited and there could be more done with the food. We attended for a conference that occurred in the upstairs portion. I do not gamble so my review excludes that experience. I also hate the exposure to all of the smoking personally. However that all aside, the security guards checking people in and that are throughout the casino were impeccable. They were friendly helpful and thorough. Rivers Casino Pittsburgh is truly top-tier, and a huge reason for that is the incredible staff--especially slot technicians Maryanne and Tiff. These two wonderful ladies are hands-down the best I've encountered anywhere. I hold players cards at multiple casinos throughout Northern Nevada and have had many handpays over the years, so I don't say that lightly. Maryanne and Tiff are professional, efficient, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind--exactly the type of people you hope to see when you're on the floor. Beyond the staff, Rivers Casino itself is held to exceptionally high standards. The property is clean, well-run, and clearly takes guest experience seriously. While there are a few quirks we're not used to in Nevada--like ID checks at the door and the strict policy of no one under 21 being allowed to walk through the building--these are honestly things Nevada should be doing. Rivers gets it right. Overall, this is an amazing place, and I can confidently say I truly love it--more than our own casinos back home in Nevada. I am a regular customer of The Rivers...I was a black card holder and was downgraded to a platinum card, I suppose because of my reduced play...to whoever made the decision to supposedly upgrade the roulette slot machines and the craps slot machines, I will no longer be playing the new roulette machines, and I was a sizeable player on the roulette machines that were replaced...the older version had their issues, but the time factor on the new machines is a deal breaker for me...I liked the idea of making my plays and then initiating the spin function at my pace...the idea of being rushed into making my plays within 30 seconds, whether I've completed my play or not, is unappealing to me. I don't like the same machine at the Meadows, and I don't like it and will not be playing it at The Rivers. I don't know why you had to screw up a good thing. read more

A few friends and I were in town for a Penguins game and decided to hit the casino afterwards. Parking was super easy as we parked on one of the upper levels and were literally within ten cars of the entrance. The casino has a nice modern look, colorful carpets, and lots of slot machines and table games. I'm a non-smoker and the casino wasn't overly smokey but there are also non-smoking areas areas. I lost on the slots and won at the Pai Gow table so it was a fun evening of entertainment. All of the dealers and bartenders were great. read more

This place has really gone down hill. The parking garage has many light flickering and makes you feel unsafe. The elevators are disgusting and fithly. Walking in staff and security were very nice. Alot of the machines felt dirty. Many seemed out of service. We where there on a week night and most of the restaurants were closed by 9pm. It seemed to be hit or miss on the bars. Some staff were very nice while others seemed just miserable. $20 for 2 drinks is crazy. While playing at a machine we hit the drink button when we 1st sat down but after an hr no one came. They need to put the drink stations back up. They also no longer have a buffet. This place needs a whole new revamp and I doubt we will be back until then. Machines also were very tight. read more

Fun time overall. Pretty spacious overall with various bars, table games, slot areas, restaurants, and the Sportsbook. The Drum bar had live entertainment Friday night which was great. Unfortunately, there aren't many options for nice casinos in Pittsburgh. I've been coming here for over a year, but every time I come here they give me another reason not to come back. I was asked to leave for no reason this weekend, because one of the craps table workers was offended by something that I said or did. I wasn't even talking to her, but senior management felt the need to kick him out of the kissing enough for no apparent reason. Wasn't drinking, and drunk, and was very lucid and just having fun with the new people that I had met at the casino. That's completely ruined my experience, and I will never come back to this casino. I went to the sportsbook inside of the casino for football this past weekend for the first time, and it was actually really fun! They have tons of giant screen TVs, so you can always find your game on one of them. The space has some tables (come early to be able to get one though!) and a lot of comfy recliner chairs. Standing room isn't allowed - just fyi! For food, I got a mushroom & swiss cheeseburger that was huge, yummy, and surprisingly not overpriced. The garlic fries were crispy & a good size to share. You order on an app & they bring food to your table, although it's a little weird that it comes wrapped up in a to-go bag & is served without napkins or a plate or anything like that. You have to order drinks at the bar, though, but they have a good selection of draft beer. Luckily the service is fairly quick. I would go back for a football Sunday option! If I can give negative stars I would. I tried to come with my boyfriend's family after a Steelers game and the management was BEYOND disrespectful. The man working the door told my boyfriend that he would "beat his ass if he was not on the clock". The manager above him did not help the situation after yelling at my boyfriend's dad. 3/4 of us got in but they stopped one person for being "too drunk" while letting in multiple people that could barely walk into the casino. Literally stole money from me. I placed a bet of $10 and then $20 on their app, and their "collections" agency said I didn't have the funds and charged me $100. I tried to talk with customer service, and they essentially told me I have to just eat the fee even though the money was there. I'm a platinum member and just closed my account with them. Rivers Casino is located downtown Pittsburgh. It sits on the Ohio river. The view is breathtaking. Rivers Casino is a sister to the Venetian Las Vegas. I love to play the 25cent slot machines. Parking was free. Went on a Thursday, mid morning. Not busy. Have to go through a metal detector. Has multiple slots. Most slots are multiple games in one. The only video games open were at a closed bar or in the corn. No pay outs. All tables were mini of 10 dollars. The only 5 dollars were video that did not open up until 1pm. It is clean. No free drinks or comps. We left after 2 pm. Just starting to get "busy". It was ok. Had a limit and walked away. We had no food or drinks there. read more

I love going to the casino! If you drive, there is a free parking garage that is HUGE. If you're taking an uber, it does drop off/pick up at the side door which feels a little weird. Once you get in, security checks your ID and you are good to go! It is always really clean and the workers have always been friendly. They have separate smoking sections, but sometimes it is still a little smoky in the non smoking section. That is definitely 1 complaint, but the casino is so big you can just move to another area. They have hand sanitizer and wipes available for guests. I hope they keep that post covid because it did seem generally cleaner than ever in the casino. Speaking of cleanliness...they have the cleanest bathrooms ever. They are always spotless! You now wave your hand over the toilets (in the women's bathroom) and a seat liner covers the toilet. My mind was blown watching this happen! Lol I haven't seen those types of toilets anywhere else. I always go just for fun and play slots and video poker. I have never spent more than $40 there and that usually lasts for a couple hours of playing games. We used to go to the buffet pre covid, but haven't gone in about 2 years. I remember that the desserts were the best part! There were beautiful parfaits and cakes. It was reasonably priced too for a buffet. The drinks are pretty cheap here too! Usually I get a dirty martini. They used to have free soft drinks and coffee, but I didn't see that section when I just went. On the way out I saw a sign for happy hour Mon-Fri 5-7 with discounted drinks. I have only ever been to the casino late at night. For a Tuesday night at 10:30 PM, it was busy! I use to love this place and was there mostly everyday when they first opened!! I was there when the 1st day they opened and I never never never received a hand pay ! Aug 2009 and it's June 2025 never received a massive payout, I witnessed a few but not recently!!! There payout ratio is horrible and it always seem to have the payouts minimal when you get bonuses!! They took the drinking station out! Why?? You have to wait hrs for a waitress and they're mean! They use to have a lot of stuff hot seat, drink station, birthday rewards and much more! The one thing that I have to address concerning the Rivers Casino is that the workers are horrible! They stand around watching customers play their games and act like they are happy for them winning and then they will follow the customers around to their next game all the while, watching their every move about what they are winning, and then they start complaining, making them feel bad by talking about them if they start loosing, Meanwhile never cleaning near slot machines the slots machines have fingerprints all over them it's absolutely horrible and if you do win on a slot machines its not much they machine will take all your money very quickly! read more

I was treated horribly by staff and security. I was publicly humiliated and harassed. During my entire stay at the hotel/casino. The Casino claimed I had a false I.D. Even though I had already been able to enter the casino without I.D. and was served alcohol both inside the casino and outside the casino bar. Which it was later verified it was indeed real. After 1 hour of being held hostage in their office. I would not recommend. The establishment definitely needs to retrain their staff. They will target you if you're a person of color! We visited the casino over the weekend meeting some friends at the new bar in the area where "levels bar" used to be. I don't think this new bar even has a name. I even checked the website before writing this review.. nothing mentioned. New to the casino in his area is "BetRivers Sportsbook". You can bet on your favorite sports. Seems like a dream if you do a lot of betting. I actually liked the "levels bar" and that the fact that you had a nice view of the casino too. This new bar is just so "meh". No bottles - only drafts and well drinks are super limited. There was a Nathan hot dog stand too near the bar which was really convenient for those wanting to grab a quick bite. We always eat at the wheelhouse before we leave typically when we visit. The drum bar thankfully still exists too but opens at 6 pm I believe. Full disclosure I used to live in Las Vegas. So my standards for casinos are HIGH! That being said, this casino is okay. Lots of slots and a decent amount of tables. Not many restaurant options and the bars are boring (albeit the staff is great). It can get very smoky in there which takes away from the fun a bit. And the other gamblers can be aggressive about "their" machines. In Vegas, you get free cocktails as you gamble. Here you will pay a decent amount to get tipsy. But it's still a decent way to spend a Friday night if you feel like blowing some money. read more

Kind of a mixed reaction to this place - but overall I liked my experience. The main issue I would say would be parking and some weird policies which i will tackle below. Bragging quickly - I left +$120 on roulette, and then did some penny slots just to keep it Christian. Also placed several wagers at the sports book which was somewhat of a nightmare. First - the "new" location of it wasn't ready - so I had to use a kiosk which I walked right by. Then some of the bets weren't accepted Bc the payout was too much. Huh? The place is very clean - though smoking is allowed if that bothers you. Their table games were busy to a point on a Friday evening - and with a $10 table limit on roulette I am I big fan. The weird stuff was - I went to the cashier to exchange $20s for $100s to make the sports book kiosk take less of a time with depositing the money in to make wagers - and I needed to provide an ID.
