The shoes are always unnecessarily over the top, the jumpers or jackets covered in more vinyl and synthetics than you can poke a burning stick at. Tackitty tack tack. I've been in many times, no staff member has ever acknowledged me let alone spoken to me and queried if I needed assistance. They must have decent stuff their sometimes, I see my friends sporting them all the time. I don't quite know what's going on. There's definitely no where else called LAX. Maybe you should head in there and see if you can find good things. Fashion is generally subjective, don't simply trust my judgement.

I used to wander past this store - located near the David Jones Food Court - never really tempted…read moreto go in, until I spied an Ellery piece on the rack. The surprise of seeing one of Australia's biggest young designers inside drew me inside. I had actually assumed from the outside that LAX was more a street fashion/ men's store, with all the sneakers on display, and the name 'LAX' as well. But glancing through the racks I was pleasantly surprised by the selection: lots of big name and hard-to-find-in-Adelaide designers like Antipodium, Jesse Hill, Josh Goot and the like, as well as bits from cheaper fashion labels like Minkpink. Yet, despite having some amazing labels on offer, something has stopped me from really liking and frequenting this store. It could be that the selection isn't huge, or the general food court ambiance, or the uninviting decor. Or it could be their edit of the labels just isn't really my style - it feels street/ surf/ skate even though it has a lot of higher end pieces, I can't put my finger on it.

I've always found there is no problem for staff to go and get an armfull of boxes out from the back room for my child and I to try several different brands and she which suits and fits. They stock alot of Clarks and Grosby brands and also shoes and sandals which can accommodate orthopedic inserts. In addition to the big names in Denim like Levis, Lee and Wrangler, RHD stocks a lot of Japanese denim brands like Edwin. They have a large selection of salvage denim in addition to standard woven jeans, and though pricey, the quality is immediately noticeable. There are a number of affordable tees, shirts and jackets, and all are very stylish and cutting edge. RHD hasn't stopped at distribution. They've also recently started up their own clothing line called CXXVI with basic design tees, and I wish them success on this venture.

So if you're someone who likes some really good quality denim, and has the cash to buy it, then I would really recommend having a look through here. However, upon entering inside I must say I was a little bit disappointed. There wasn't even one bedraggled vagrant in sight. It was not as I expected, there was not a line trolleys, laden with bottle and cans, parked out the front, and on the whole, the place did not have the putrid aroma of rotting eggs. Instead, I was met with a well dressed man vending slacks and collared shirts, and, i might add, in pristine condition.

This Cotton On is no exception - I think it's actually more chaotic that others in the chain. This store is just a standard guys' and girls' clothing shop. No kids' wear or underwear here. Thank goodness, because it's crazy enough without. I dove in here desperately seeking shorts, as the ones I was wearing were hideous, according to both myself and my boyfriend, and I'd subsequently spilt chocolate all over them. The sales racks down the back of the store were overflowing with size 8s of all styles. I can't resist a $10 pair of shorts, so I kept looking until I found something closer to my normal size 12 (of which there were NONE to be seen.) Half an hour later I stagger out with nothing. Why don't these clothes fit? What's wrong with me?? So apparently, I'm a size 14 around the legs, but not the backside. How does that work? I seem pretty proportional - I'm big all over!! Yet the shorts gape like crazy at the back. Maybe you're just meant to wear them a lot tighter at the front? Ew. I now recall why I don't shop here. Nothing ever fits. This saddens me, because I like cheap clothing, and I like their casual styles. Sadly, it is not meant to be.
