The room was spacious, clean, nice comfortable mattress, nice fluffy and warm comforter. The bathroom was large, plenty of hot water with good pressure. The breakfast was amazing. There is one large table which is lovely for socializing with the other guests. Our breakfast took an hour and a half. You can walk to pretty much anywhere within 5-10 minutes. We can't wait to come back.

Only downsides for some. A lot of stairs, a little bit of a pain with luggage but more of an issue if you have trouble with stairs. Rooms are somewhat small. And no parking, need to use public lots and continue to make sure paid for the full stay.

We were traveling from Galway to Kinsale and among many…read moresetbacks, primarily our clutch going out and we had to wait for our rental car to be replaced. We ran late by 3 hours for their check in time, as Americans, none of us had a phone service since we were driving through the country and felt we'd have no issues as we were staying at a hotel. We showed up, as it was pouring outside, and she let us in and treated us as if we were intentionally inconsiderate and kept telling us that we were at fault for not checking in at the correct time (mind you it's between the hours of 4-7 pm). We admitted our mistake, apologized and she reluctantly went and got our rooms ready, she brought us to our rooms and then saw our phones, to which she pointed out we could have used them (we couldn't) and began yelling at us and asking us if we thought she was stupid because we had our phones, she then asked us to leave when we told her we felt uncomfortable and then refused to let us stay there or refund our money. At 11 pm at night, we were forced to drive to another city (Cork) to which we were beautifully relocated. She is a horrible host and if you're not a 45-65 years old and a white person, you will completely be treated as a subhuman.

We arrived and a young guy greeted us and who was very friendly. And overpowering smell of animal urine hit us the minute we walked in. The kid gave us our keys and we went to the room and when we open the door there were a bunch of framed pictures piled up on the bed and around the room. We notified him and he said sorry, I will give you a different room. He gave us another key and when we open that door the beds in the room were covered in boxes and Christmas decorations. It look like a storage room. He apologized again and asked if we could wait downstairs while he cleaned a room. I went back online and found that a room had opened up at a hotel near the city center. About 10 minutes have gone by and I yelled up to him that it smelled like animals and that my wife allergies were picking that up and that we would stay at a different place. He apologized and asked if it was more expensive. I told him yes and he said he would reimburse us for the difference. A very nice fellow. About a month later I had not heard anything back and sent a note to the owner. She responded that the employee was new and shouldn't have offered us a refund. Then told us we don't owe you anything and we chose to leave. I suggest if all of the hotels are full in Kinsale, you are better off finding a homeless person and renting his urine soaked sleeping bag before staying in this dump.

CONS - Uphill quick walk from town back to the B&B -Low pressure shower with a bizzare heating mechanism. Though it worked. -Small room Pro Tip1: I booked directly via email. I think it saved me 5-10 Euro/night compared to booking through a website. Cutting out the middle man saves money for everyone! Pro Tip2: American couples, like us, may want to book twin beds instead of a double bed...an Irish double is smaller than an American full.

Pros - good Irish Breakfast…read more Cons - they did not have early check in after numerous emails back and forth telling us they'd be there early they weren't. We arrived with 4 bags at 10:30 waited over an hour and no one was even at B&B. We had to leave our bags in a doorway and pray no one stole them while we walked to town (down 2 hills). They showed up at 4pm to check us in. It was a pain to not have our bags securely locked away. We did Not need access to a room just a place to store our bags for early arrival. They have no hair dryers U can only pay cash (euro) for hotel no credit cards accepted! They basically give u a key ms u are left alone. Other B&Bs were more informative w sites/tours in areas. I would suggest u stay in TOWN at Blue Haven which u can walk right out to restaurants and shopping and walk around water.
