We felt very unwelcome and urge anyone to avoid this place. Groundskeeper is not interested in having happy guests.

Had plenty of room around our campsite. There does seem to be a number of annuals but that doesn't bother us as long as they are tidy. Really liked the grounds of the park, all the view points of the pretty waterfall and the walkway and staircase around it. The large river flowing by the park provides access to water sports with a nice boat launch area. The lodge offered games and other amusement plus nice viewing deck of the river and forest. We did not use the pool or the facilities, only there two nights, but they did appear in working condition. In the future, if we are in this part of the state we would stay longer at this park.

Although the pool is top notch and the chalets are beautiful, this is a rustic style camp. If you are camping, bring a mat to wipe your feet. The camping area is a mix of dirt and sand. It can get dusty. It's located in the middle of woods. The members are the real reason Sunny Haven is a must. Community type feel. Very friendly and inviting. Always having fun. My wife and I have never felt unsafe. The vary rare instances where action was needed, it was taken care of immediately. The pool is AWESOME! Prices are very reasonable. Surprisingly cheap actually. A really fun place to visit.

I would not recommend their mozzarella sticks. The store was beyond overpriced ($4.99 for marshmallows that are so old you can tell through the bag that they are stale), and the staff was not very friendly compared to other KOA's and they were especially not helpful. (When I asked for recommendations of places to go for hikes/walks in nature nearby I was told to Google it.) If you want to have a camping experience in nature, you will be disappointed in this campground. If you want a cheap alternative place to sleep when you are visiting South Bend, maybe you will be satisfied. But please note that they felt it necessary to implement a key card system to even get into the campground. So I wouldn't feel comfortable tent camping here. (Someone with mal intent could just drive up to the campground and then get out of their car and walk into the campground. )

Five Pines is a great place all year round.  In the summer they have camps (which I went to as a…read moreyoung lad) with an abundance of activities including swimming, a rock climbing wall, and a ropes course.  The middle school I went to even took us out here back in the day as a field trip.  My church would take the middle and high schoolers out here in the fall for hay rides which is always a fun treat. As for the winter, they offer tubing and other winter activities on a large hill on property.  They also sell warm beverages during this time to warm up between activities.  Five Pines is simply a great outdoor place with numberous fun things to do.  Let the adventuring begin!
