I have practiced many forms of Yoga (including Bikram) over the years. I was in a bad car acccident a few years ago and am just now able to get back to practicing. I shared all of this information on my first (and last) visit to Riverflow. I came in by way of the great Groupon deal and couldn't wait to get started. The woman who guided the session I attended was, in my opinion, forceful, not cognisant of my restrictions, and quite frankly, irritating. Mind you, there were only four people total in this class. Yoga is a personal experience and Yogi's are meant to guide, not dictate(/bully). If you're looking for Yoga for your body AND mind, I do not suggest Riverflow. read more

Let me first preface this by saying that I am not very well educated in the practices of yoga. This was my first attempt at hot yoga. Overall, I have to say I am not positive it is for me. I thought I would give it a shot since this studio is right around the corner from me, what could I have to lose? The instructors seem to be very, very, very knowledgeable about the subject of yoga and all things related. They were helpful, firm and were quick to correct/assist. However, the instructor I worked with never stopped speaking, even when we were supposed to be reflecting/meditating. The studio is a little on the small side, but I feel like that could be very beneficial in terms of keeping classes small and assuring each client/yogi receives the attention and personalized instruction they may need. However, I was a little disappointed to have people practically on top of me. It was hard to stretch without hitting the wall behind me or the people on either side of me. Their prices seemed reasonable, but I don't have very much to compare it to. I don't think I've ever sweat that much, but I did feel a little better following my appointment. If you are a more experienced yogi, then absolutely check them out!!! read more

I've tried other places and must say this one really agrees with me. Great workout for the mind and soul. Location: Plenty of parking, smaller studio but effective use of heaters, have experienced full classes but not to the extent of overbearing and distractingly full. The cozy studio is down to earth, inviting and I personally have a 25min drive through woods/fields to arrive at this studio perched atop the river - the drive settles me; almost a nice pre-cursor to the class. Instruction: This is KEY. Without the eagle eye of the instructors who constanly walk around and adjust and provide tips and encouragement, one would not improve. The tiniest adjustment is recommended and frankly if these weren't provided, then they woudn't care and neither would you. It would just be stretching then. They're also very knowledgable about the mechanics about what you're doing - not vapid "Open your heart, hear your soul, listen to the ladybugs sing your name". But "here's what's happening right now. The blood flow was cut off by that pose - which is essential to redirecting .." Not necessarily medical info but certainly useful info on why a pose does what it does. Class sched: 2/day; morn or noon and eve, 7d/wk. Have attended 1 morn w/music class - really liked it! Heat: At first wasn't used to the heaters on the ground so close to you; but came to realize they rotate and like the instruction; push you to the edge to be better. Some other studios take a while to heat up with their central heat system - not this one. Cost: Reasonable and their classes never expire. They run great Groupons/Liv Socs too which Rhonda gladly accepts and combines with your regular payment/classes. All Around High Five! read more

I have been coming here for two years as well as being a yogi for 15 and a Bikram lover for 4. It is not a fancy place with showers and private lockers. It's is a yoga studio. instructors over emphasize postures and safety so that the student is reminded of form over flexibility. When I attend some Bikram studios, I see many a type A person throwing themselves into poses without breathing or thinking or receiving a correction from the instructors. Few of the Bikram studios focus on breath or alignment the way that Riverflow does. And yes, you type A people, you will be corrected if your form is wrong. Check your ego at the door. It will serve you well. It has an intimate atmosphere. They have 60 minute express class and music yoga to the 26 postures. I highly recommend Riverflow read more

Terrible customer service. Extremely disappointed. I heard good things and signed up due to a friend's referral. I bought a package deal. I drove 20 minutes out of the way to come here. Got lost and went to the wrong yoga studio and was then turned away for being 10 minutes late by the instructor. Not the way I want to be treated as a paying customer in search of positivity. I don't have a problem with a no lateness policy but as a first time student I expected to at least feel welcome. There are too many other yoga studio's in Lambertville for customers to be treated like this. read more

This studio is a bit hidden and you can easily pass it while driving. It's tucked behind a row of shops on the side of the road. The studio itself gives a peaceful, serene vibe. It's right by a river so you hear the sounds of the stream and birds chirping. This studio is little different in that there are heaters placed in the back and corner of the room, as opposed to a single switch that would warm the place up through vents. I've had two instructors and both were great. One gave more instruction than the other. The owner is very friendly and gladly accepted my Groupon even though it expired the day before (got completely lost the day before). read more

I really wanted to like this location, I would like to try other teachers first before a full review. I tried my first class on Friday morning, lovely little studio but I had a hard time concentrating because the teacher talked way too much, he has a great energy but too many cues, I had a hard time keeping my balance, would like to have some quiet energy at times. I think he may be new to teaching, so his flow may get better with experience. Just some constructive criticism. read more

Groupon had a decent deal ($50 for 15 classes in a month) for this place, so I checked it out. I've practiced yoga for 7 years, and Bikram for 2. After my first class with Zac, I was ready to come back for more...despite the temperature of the room being around 85, not 105, and there being NO SHOWERS (uh, ew?). I returned and had a class with the owner, Rhonda. She insists on sitting down with all new members to talk about goals. A great idea in theory, but in practice, she was an unpleasant teacher to have. Like other reviews said, she provided constant chatter during the session (which is fairly normal for Bikram), and was a stickler for hitting her timing cues. I told her I had an injury, and like another reviewer posted, Rhonda disregarded my limitations. She was rude, and kept singling me out for not being on her timing. Uh, sorry, didn't think we were in dance class-- she certainly didn't single anyone else out as much. Weird, as a first-timer. You'd think she'd be terribly polite to keep a new customer. Not sure if I'll go back. There are better places to check out. Good luck searching! read more

Beware. Rhonda who owns the place, at first seems sweet, but after a class or two with her you discover there's something else going on...almost cult like and oddly aggresive. Riverflow was my first experience with Hot Yoga so I didn't have anything to compare it to. After a terrible experience with Rhonda (feeling ambushed and attacked) I've gone other places, which are all amazing and taught with so much love and understanding for what a person's body can do or not do. Last note: Riverflow has space heaters in the tiny studio, so you might be really hot if a heater is next to you, or not warm enough depending on where you are in the room. It is carpeted and there are no showers and the facility is less then appealing. read more

I had a very negative experience at this yoga studio and had not considered writing a review until just the other day. I met some people at a dinner a few nights ago who were talking about having a "bad yoga experience", and when I asked where they had gone, they said Riverflow. As a professional dancer, instructor and longtime yoga practitioner, I was disturbed by the poor teaching, the lack of awareness about how to create a healthy experience for the mind and body, and the unwelcoming atmosphere. I paid for two classes up front but wouldn't even consider going back after the first one! read more

Early last year I purchased three unlimited yoga classes. I used two in 2014 and today I used my last one. My first two experiences were good ones but unfortunately today was a different story. I felt very uncomfortable with my yoga instructor Rhonda. I was the first person to arrive this morning. Right after the others walked in, I began to get a bad vibe from Rhonda. I felt that she was speaking to me and the other ladies in the classroom in a condescending way and I really didn't appreciate her tone. I felt as if she was talking to me like I was a child. I mistakenly entered the yoga room wearing socks and she was very impatient with me telling me "YOU CAN'T GO IN THE ROOM WITH SOCKS!" And telling me to close the door in a very annoyed tone. There were no pleases' or thank you's with these requests. Now, I am fairly new to yoga so I am a little unfamiliar with the rules. I also didn't see any signs hanging up saying to keep the door closed or what I can and can not enter the yoga room with. She was also very snappy telling the other visitors not to talk in the room. Again, she had no patience. I understand there are rules and regulations to that kind of environment but there is a certain way to say things. About fifteen minutes into the class I was feeling very uncomfortable so I quietly picked my water bottle up and decided to leave discretely. Rhonda came over to me and told me to go to the back of the room which is the restroom area to take a break. I told her I wanted to leave and she said to me that I couldn't leave the studio until the class took a break. With that being said I left anyway. I didn't respond because I was trying not to disrupt the class and ruin the experience for anyone else. It made me very uneasy when she told me that I couldn't leave. I am a grown woman and should be able to exit any place/ uncomfortable situation at my own free will. It was bad enough that I was leaving 20 minutes into a 90 minute class that was paid in full. I couldn't imagine spending a full hour and a half in her presence. I enjoyed the other instructors that I had before today. They were great. However, I will not be returning to this yoga studio due to Rhonda and her impatience/ rudeness. read more

Riverflow Yoga is my East coast home base yoga studio. I recently moved to San Francisco and have yet to find a yoga studio out here that feels just as much like a second family as Riverflow did. I know that's probably difficult to believe, considering the ridiculous amount of yoga studios within the city of San Francisco--one of them has to click with me, right? Unfortunately, this is not so. I've been avidly attending different studios for the past four months and have yet to find one as welcoming or friendly as Riverflow. I miss the small classes, with personalized attention from the instructors. All of the instructors at RF actually seem to care about their students and want them to improve and feel comfortable. Since leaving the East coast and Riverflow, my yoga practice has begun to lag. I want the inspiration I felt to come back--perhaps when I come home for the holidays and head back to my little studio on the river it will all come flooding back to me. read more
