Finding a family doctor with whom you can develop a personal relationship over time is a rarity…read morethese days, but these are the physicians I trust most. Dr. Michael Neiswander has been our family doctor for 30+ years. My wife, daughter and I trust him implicitly because we each feel we have that elusive personal connection. He asks intelligent investigative questions, then actually listens to your answers before jumping to a diagnosis. Because he knows us and our health histories, when we come in for routine wellness checks our discussions are a continuation of past healthcare visits, as opposed to the first-time meeting (again) feeling you get with many physicians. And somewhere along the way Dr. Neiswander has even become our travel advisor! Sadly (for us) Dr. Neiswander retired recently and I personally feel I've lost something special. Perrysburg Family Physicians has been sold to The Toledo Clinic, and while this transaction brings certain benefits, I mourn the death of yet another independent practice as the Toledo healthcare system continues to consolidate. I remain hopeful, but not optimistic.

Having a primary care should mean being able to receive care so you do not have to go to the emergency room or urgent care for your basic medical needs. I had a neck lift by Dr. Jeff Kesler nearly 1 1/2 years ago. I was unsatisfied with the development…read moreof what is called "turkey neck." He seemed very qualified according to my research. I was troubled by his air of being in a hurry and talking over me, but thought that should not reflect on his skill as a surgeon. His answers to my questions were clipped and somewhat evasive. For instance, he would not give me a direct answer when I asked how many neck and facelifts he did a year, just that he did "more than the other doctors" at Arrowhead. I have no complaints about the staff, who were very cordial and friendly, as was Dr. Kesler. I finally had the neck lift and it was about as uncomfortable recovering as I expected, although not overly painful. Dr. Kesler gave me antibiotics and steroids for a possible allergic reaction to the compression bandage, and also adequate prescription pain meds. I believe my recovery was average, and I was able to go back to socializing a month later. It was obvious, however, that I did not get an optimal result from the procedure. As the swelling went down over the months, loose skin remained on each side of my neck. Also, the incision under the chin is still bumpy after nearly a year and a half, and you can see the stitch marks of the sutures, which were very obvious directly after surgery. I expected better from a skilled surgeon. The central area of my neck is much better, the "turkey wattle" is gone, and my jawline appears smoother. but I did not get the result I expected, and am disappointed after paying thousands of dollars. Also, there is a crease in my earlobe where the tissue was stitched in an overlap, and that ear is now lower than the other. Dr. Kesler said the massaging they instruct you to do every day for several months would get rid of the crease, but it hasn't. He said if it didn't resolve with massage he could take care of it in the office, but on my final postoperative visit he brushed off my concerns and said "keep massaging." When I voiced my concerns about the loose skin on either side of my neck, he said "that's just skin," which I took to mean it was the nature of skin to do that and I couldn't expect a better result. He then took a photo of my profile for his files, instructing me to lift my chin, which made the neck appear tighter than it was. He seemed in a great hurry even though the waiting room was nearly empty. On my way out, he handed me a photo of what I looked like before the surgery and said I looked much better than before, as if to chide me for questioning the results. I felt rushed and my concerns dismissed. I know that a perfect result from cosmetic surgery is not a given, but I am left wondering if Dr. Kesler is skilled enough at facelifts to call himself an expert, which he is listed as in his profile. I do look firmer than before the surgery, but feel that it could have been better for $18,000. I would advise that if you have enough money, go to a plastic surgeon who deals exclusively with facelifts, instead of one who dabbles in several different cosmetic procedures.

He sits and talks to you, lets you ask all the questions you want and doesn't rush you. Will sit and talk to your kiddo and really connects with them. The office is always SO sparkling clean and decorated super cute. The nurses other staff are also PHENOMENAL, always a pleasant interaction. Pretty crazy and stressful to be moving back to the D during the winter. Oh wait...did I mention that I was 32 weeks pregnant and had to find a new Dr in my third trimester? Not stressful at all (please note the hint of sarcasm). I was seriously stressing out! Finding a new Dr is hard enough...but finding a Dr that you like to deliver your first child...well, thats just next to impossible...or so I thought! Enter Dr. Burton Brodsky. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Brodsky. The minute he walked in the room he immediately made my husband and I feel comfortable. He took his time to sit down and talk to us (instead of just rushing us out the door) and answered all of the questions we had to ask. My delivery was as close to perfect as one could be and I totally owe that to Dr. Brodsky. He is seriously the best Dr. that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I feel so lucky that I was referred to his office. As a side note....they have TV's in every exam room...so while you are waiting you can check out whats happening on Regis & Kelly...BUT make sure to time your appointments right...if you LOATHE Rachel Ray (like me) you don't want to get stuck listening to her annoying voice while you are chillin' in an exam gown. My only issue is that their waiting room is a little hectic. It is shared with the general practitioner and pediatric office and therefore is sometimes very full and loud. I think they are remodeling so this may be alleviated soon. If you are looking for an OB/GYN in Oakland County here is your answer. I don't think you could find anyone better than Dr. Brodsky. Makes me want to have another baby already...thats how much I love this office!!

They would get 100's if I could!…read more Dr. Brodsky is a very kind and compassionate physician that has a phenomenal bedside manner His confidence and knowledge definitely puts him in a league of his own. He is very down to earth and does not have the "God" complex that is seen in so many physicians. I have referred several friends to him and all of them say the same thing. His office staff is by far the best group of ladies I have ever met. They are understanding and compassionate. I have been seeing Dr. Brodsky for about 7 years now and have to say there is no other physician I would see. He has helped me make a very important decision and I am so glad he was the surgeon.

If you question them on work restrictions they put in place for employees they become very rude. For instance, when questioning the length of time they had an employee off, the doctor stated they were making recommendations based on their medical opinion, but in the same breath state that the employee wanted some days off work. Don't recommend using them as an employer.
