From my understanding the park is ran by two people and they have been nothing but welcoming and nice. We reserve 2 tent sites each summer. The bathrooms are SO CLEAN! They have great WiFi and the river is amazing. The dog run is HUGE and they have outdoor games for the kids and a covered area.

My…read moreexperience was quite pleasant and made for fond memories during my visit and exploration of North Cascades National Park. Upon arriving spontaneously in the charming town of Twisp, Washington...I needed a place to sleep for the evening before embarking on my journey through North Cascades NP. While using the app on my phone called Campendium, I found Riverbend RV Park. A lot of trailer and RV parks don't accommodate tents...but this place did! And that's how I was planning on staying here, setting up my tent and sleeping within the wonderful woods of nature. What was truly great about this Riverbend Park was that although I arrived in late afternoon at the last moment, I was still able to book a tent site using my credit card online through their website...riverbendrv.com. It was $28 plus tax for a campsite located right by the river! How cool! Not only was I setting up camp within the forest...but the surrounding river made for such a soothing and calming ambiance. I absolutely loved it here! Another fantastic aspect about Riverbend included in the $28 were showers and restrooms. Perfect! Now I had the chance to freshen up and get myself organized before camping out the next few days at North Cascades. When I did arrive...the Park Hosts had left for the evening and I luckily found an attendant on the grounds who provided me with a passcode to unlock the doors to the showers and bathrooms. Also, to use the showers...I needed quarters to operate them. But for me that wasn't an issue as I had plenty of change in my car for moments like these. Overall, the showers were clean and had hot running water. I was very satisfied with the conditions. When I had visited during this summer of 2020, there was a posted sign saying due to wildfires within the area...please no charcoal grills for barbecuing. Only electric grills allowed. Well...I had to break this rule. Otherwise I had no way of cooking dinner. So...I did light my small grill. I swear...I contained the flames extremely cautiously, lol. Also at my site was a picnic table...and once again...this was all situated along the banks of the river (how awesome). I simply found the setting here to be absolutely ideal! Here I was...enjoying a couple of hamburgers and hot dogs while sitting down at my picnic table relaxing by the free flowing river...all situated within the heart of bountiful trees and grass! Seriously...I was really happy here, lol. When the sun set, I had a terrific summer night's evening. It wasn't too cool outside and the stars were in full force. Sitting in my lounge chair I was able to take some time to appreciate the night's sky here in Northern Washington. In the moment I realized just how fortunate I felt to be able to travel (during this pandemic) especially coming from South Florida. I was a long ways away from home. Just some final points from my visit...this Riverbend RV Park is situated right off the road along Highway 20. Once I pulled onto the grounds there were instructions and a map on where to find the campsites. When I was here back in August of 2020, the sites were filled with plenty of trailers and RV's. You could sense this was a popular place for visitors and tourists. I had a wonderful night's sleep here. It was quiet and I felt rested the following day. Since the town of Twisp was nearby, when I woke up the next day before heading to North Cascades NP...I stopped at famous Cinnamon Twisp Bakery for some breakfast. It was a fulfilling way to get my day started. Overall, I couldn't ask for anything more than the amenities and accommodations I received here at Riverbend RV Park. I can't recommend this place enough! It's the perfect starter/campground for getting your North Cascades journey going in the right direction when entering the park from the east side and venturing west.

There is a sign on the door that says no hot water. That's fine, whatever, tent campers get cold showers while paying for full hookups like we did so we could have electricity but we get cold showers because we are sleeping in tents. But this was not the issue. The issue is that the hot water is turned on sometimes... and there is no warning and no way to regulate the temp that comes out of the shower head. For whatever reason the faucet, while turning left and right - effects nothing. Now, if the water coming out was a nice warm 105 to 110 degrees that would be fine. But this was so hot it burned my daughters head and she only had it under the shower for the time it took to turn the water on, scream and move away. So, I went and got my meat thermometer and tested it. 167 degrees Fahrenheit. I highly doubt the legal department at PUD is aware of the water temperature streaming out of that shower head. One more thing about that water. We were told they turned on the hot water because the water for one of the RV'ers wasn't working. What? I'm confused on this tidbit. We also bought an RV space. Why the plain discrimination against tenters who are paying full rates? Why not warm water for all? But please, before that, fix the temperature problem first. If my daughter had been 2 instead of 21 her skin would have blistered and there would've been a hospital trip. Other than the hot water issue the campground is very nice, windy like a tropical storm, but beautiful. Be aware, camping has recently changed to reservation only.

We had loop D 72-76 this year which backs up to the fence to the city park. We love it for the easy beach access. Only issue is, they do NOT close the gates at night and I have no idea why not. A party in our group had 2 electric scooters stolen from them and a charger. I understand stuff should be locked up but we've never experienced anything like that before at a campground. Two of the nights our kids were playing at the playground being kids and screaming as kids do and they were told by the person locking up the bathrooms at the City park that they had to be quiet. It was 10 PM and quiet hours at the RV park and the city park are 11 PM. He had no right to yell at our children 2 nights in a row. The last night we were there there was insanely loud Mexican music playing well after midnight in the city park parking lot. I wear earplugs when I sleep and I could still hear the music. It's ridiculous that the kids get yelled at for squealing at the playground not during quiet hours and yet there can be loud screeching tires, loud exhaust, and loud music playing well too quiet hours. Also, our site 74 had a HUGE dead spot of grass. I assume from a rug from previous camper killed it which is why they do not want rugs on the grass but it was incredibly frustrating for us as everytime someone went in and out of the trailer it drug in dirt and grit from the lack of grass. We were not a fan of that either. Wi-Fi is also not reliable if you're looking to stream or work. We did our usually waterslides trip and ropes course. You have to hit up the lakeshore drive in. Onion rings and bacon burger and shakes were on point. Another family in our group went to The Landing and got the fried rice and it was DELICIOUS!!! The icecream shop next door is legit too. Chelan RV Park please consider locking the gates to your faithful campers during quiet hours to prevent theft. We were told it's very common. Great to know...also, keep grass green and mowed. I've never seen the grass in our loop so long. We were there for 1 week and they only came behind our trailer to mow. We purposely moved our stuff so they could mow up to our trailer. Not having it mowed caused a LOT and I mean a LOT of gnat type bugs. They were EVERYWHERE. I was also surprised to find them spreading fertilizer on the grass before it was mowed and they didn't inform anyone which I thought was odd

This is a small little RV park and campground, but I love how the owners take excellent care of the place. One guy was always out planting and watering the plants and flowers. Another guy was literally cleaning the bathrooms several times in the day. The restrooms are nice and clean!! (Showers are available too here) The campsites are alright, but if you have preference and/or a group, I highly recommend getting the lots 31, 32, 33 area. Wow, more room, away from the main road, more trees, and a couple boulders to climb on. It looks bigger than the spot we had, which was spot 4, next to the restrooms. Firepits are very small, but we still used it to make s'mores. They also have a little enclosed basketball area. Sites 17-30 are basically next to the main road. You will hear the road noise, especially if you're camping in a tent, but I still like staying at this campground because there's not many other options for an RV park. Across the street is a gas station and Safeway. You're within a minute or two from downtown too. If you're into climbing, you're not that far from Icicle Creek climbing area either. We would stay here again with friends if we camped/rented a trailer again.
