The grief was disabling during the day also and I was unable to work or do day-to-day tasks, my mind was reeling. I knew there was no way I could do years of counseling to get through it, I needed something fast to help me return to normal life. I called ECC and asked Melanie what she could do to help heal me to accelerate the process of trauma, and get results and relief fast. She introduced me to EMDR and Matrix Reimprinting. I had never heard of such a thing and didn't know the technology behind them , and truly thought they sounded like a waste of time and would not work. But I was desperate. After learning how they work on the brain and body and the historical proven results, I gave them a try. Much to my surprise I was shocked to see that not only did they work but they gave fast results and relief to my grief and pain and reeling thoughts that would not stop. The effects were so positive I couldn't quite believe it could be that easy... I still am baffled and SO incredibly grateful to Melanie and ECC for having these techniques to offer to our community. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!! I was able to quickly returned to normal life. I was also able to cope with all that came after the accident well. Later that year I also had a serious incident with a family member that I was feeling similar trauma about and went back to ECC. As the first time, Melanie was able to bring me through it quickly and painlessly with these amazing techniques that seem to good to be true. I have been back to ECC for my relationship too, and it truly helped me for over a year, with the guidance I received from another great therapist there named Kathy. I highly recommend these guys!

Since canceling back in August, I have been charged an additional $280 by them, split into random chunks of amounts ($25 here, $100 there...) and have literally been calling and emailing for over a month to get someone there to fix it. It would be fine if I heard something back and for some reason I am mistaken, but the fact I have received no response whatsoever is infuriating. Obviously disputing with my bank and will never go here again. Would not recommend.

Kody Evans was my first marriage counselor and he didn't even hit the difficult questions like "Do…read moreyou love your spouse still?" These tough questions were ignored and instead he gave his personal opinions on how he felt about subject matters of anxiety (diognosing without permission) how we should parent and work together while interjecting his personal feelings and opinions towards home schooling verses non homeschooling options. He talked way too much and our marriage has gotten worse after one meeting. We went home with homework that was not completed and my husband continued to see him. I didn't feel like he was a good fit. Kody continued to see my husband and collect money even though my husband and I didn't agree he was the right fit for us. Our relationship got worse after my husband saw Kody not better because he wasn't the right therapist for us. So this should have been a personal counseling session not a marriage counseling session. The therapist doesn't write notes and the communication was one sided to my husband when this was supposed to be a marriage counseling appointment. Positive, the counselor did recommend someone else "in house", but continued to see my husband even though he wasn't a right fit and take his money and my husband grew colder not warmer toward me and came home with no homework no discussion topics at all. I'm sad and disappointed, but I do have to say I think Kody earns a 1 star because my marriage got worse not better because of his counseling style. In the future it is ok to turn a client away if it is a marriage counselor that still sees themselves as a "good fit" even though the couple doesn't agree. I see this as therapy that takes money because it made everything worse.

In the sound baths when I have been, there often between 7-15 people, you lay down on a comfy mat, they also have pillows, blankets and eye masks, there is a sofa so if you have a hard time on a mat that seems always open. Jenny explains what will happen, and creates a nice safe container. She settles you down with a guided meditation. The crystal bowls, the gong, chimes, and Jenny's singing are the best I have experienced in this line of work. Many feel great healing, or gain insight in to something they needed answers for, or super deep relaxation. Once we all come back from our little journeys, we sit up, and if we choose share with the group what it was like for us ;-) then always some yummy harvested from the garden tea, and something to tasty like dark chocolate. I continue to go when I can on a Sunday night. Jenny is very experienced and talented and would recommend her to anyone.

I highly doubt after 20+ years of individual counseling and working through various mental health…read moreissues with Gretchen and Neil that these reviews are even valid. The 2 reviews sound pretty foreign to my experience. Yes therapy can get messy and painful and downright frustrating if you are seeking to change your behaviors you're going to have to offer more than a subjective opinion even if it was 1 session or 6 sessions. I'm counterbalancing these reviews with 20 years of one on one counseling with these 2. Therapists are human beings get tired angry and may not fit your personal style, that's fine. Is this off of one time? I mean, how do you get to know anyone in 1 hour let alone you've claimed your daughter has OCD which can take years to treat and requires complex medication management, etc. What "shocked you" how old are you as a parent? Neils job Stephanie K is to be impartial. He's not going to engage your husband's troublesome behavior. Jesus Christ if he acted like I did and I encouraged him in my shitty behavior what good would 2 anxious assholes do for therapy or change? These are baseless claims in my opinion and unjustified and just plain wrong. There isn't a magic whistle, bell, anything like that. I have Severe Mental Illness and Gretchen has been an anchor for me in rough waters and have such a hard time with trashing people trying to help me. My problems don't just disappear after 6 sessions it sounds like the marriage was already over, props for trying but you can't blame anyone but yourself and your husbands unmotivated to change type attitude. Been there myself with some issues so don't ask for help if you don't want it. If you do clear your side of the street and ask for help and don't complain when the answer isn't to your liking. Those are called prayers and they don't work, that's why counseling exists sweetheart. I urge anyone with half a brain to consider therapy as a gift but you gotta be willing to unwrap it.

She was dealing with the early stages of anxiety and some OCD at the time, so I wanted her to get help from a professional to deal with this before it escalated. I won't go into specifics but unfortunately, my daughter was badly let down by her therapist, who spent most of her time scrolling on her phone and allowing my daughter to play on her phone during the session. I didn't know this until much later when my daughter was going through a very rough time and confided in me that her therapist treated her like she was a distraction during HER session. I found out that the therapist had urgent information that she should have disclosed to me about my daughter's state of mind, but I was never told. I was in her office regularly picking up my daughter and we always chatted for several minutes, but not once did she ever indicate that there was a problem and always said everything was going great when I asked. I was shocked and devastated when I found out the truth. When I reported her to the owner, she made excuses for her...the therapist had personal problems...as if that is a viable reason for her negligence and incompetence. It is not. My daughter no longer trusts therapists, thanks to this place, but she is doing well now with a telehealth therapist. However, I am still very upset about what happened. I would give this place zero stars if I could.

I had been Ariel Alon's client for three years when she took a sudden, indefinite leave of absence…read more I was encouraged to wait, and assured I could resume with Ariel when she returned. Four months later Catalyst's clinical director Katherine Walter emailed that Ariel would be returning part-time, and all her former clients were excluded from working with her again. "The need to be equitable to her former clients means that we will build her new case load from scratch" she wrote. This decision was final, and she wouldn't answer any questions about it. I asked if I could say goodbye to Ariel, to get some closure, and Katherine refused. I begged Katherine to just tell me the reason I couldn't talk to Ariel, but she refused that too. I emailed Ariel directly; she didn't respond. She's available to see other clients, but she refuses to communicate with me, and she refuses to say why. After three years of building trust, she literally ghosted me. Usually when someone ghosts you, it helps to remember they probably don't realize how painful and confusing it is. But a licensed therapist doesn't have this excuse. So was it intentional cruelty? Indifference? Some of both? I'll never know. Ariel wrote in her notes I was "very attached" and the work was "highly relational". Then she unilaterally blew up everything I thought I understood about our relationship. What kind of therapist does this? What kind of clinical director signs off on it? As far as I can tell neither Ariel nor Katherine believe they did anything wrong. They dropped this on me at the worst possible time: I was reeling from a bereavement, multiple things were hitting me at once. That was the darkest period of my life, and trusting Ariel & Katherine with my mental health is one of the worst mistakes I've made. Take it from me, it's not worth the risk. Avoid Catalyst Counseling at all costs.
