My concern was that I had over 12 yards of carpet left over- according to Dave (Manager and person who measured), that was to be expected due to 'repeat design' and stairs couldn't be done any other way to piece together instead of cutting 3 feet of carpet for stairs off a 16 foot roll, leaving me with $400 of excess carpet which he states he could only sell as remnant for $75-100. Additionally, was to be 'free installation' which ended up costing me another $419 due to it being laid on concrete and 'repeat design', as well as separate charge for stairs. I would also recommend requesting and reviewing a written estimate as the original that was sent me. The actual ended up being almost $500 more than my final cost, including Illinois versus Wisconsin sales tax

My husband was there for the walk through, but said the guy was there for 5 minutes, took just a couple of measurements, said a quote was coming, and left. Not even time for questions. I had detailed notes and questions written down because we have an old house, and just need to cover our bases. None were answered. It was mentioned that we'd like to replace a bow window and completely remove the bow, and he never took measurements of the walls or anything like that. Where as, you'd think you'd want to know depth and such to ensure you've got it right. My husband was never asked what type of efficiency window he'd like, or shown what the window options even looked like. The quote came through and I honestly laughed. $45k for windows and siding and we had already replaced 7 windows previously, so this isn't even all of them. But even on the quote, it's just a vague description of the windows. The windows quote was $4k more than a franchise place we had just come out for a quote. My husband was told that their schedule was wide open until after July 4 because people go on vacations. I think it's just because people don't want to pay that much for something they haven't even seen or know what it will turn out to look like!

I call again and was told "the boss"would call me back the next day. The next day came and went and still no quote! 1 month and 4 follow up phone calls from me at this point, wtf?! The wall is curved, has a random/sparse color pattern and a different sill. My impossible to match bricks also had to be salvaged. Roberto was quick to give me a fair estimate and work me into his busy schedule. He and his crew came on time, were super nice, worked through two days of rain and wind, salvaged my bricks! and did a great job. They also did some repointing in a few spots. He even came back to caulk later as soon as the weather was appropriate. All the work looks original. I have no concerns about the durability. The estimates we were quoted for both the drywall finishing and plumber were off by half adding around $1000 to the job. About a week after the job was finished, the grout in the til started cracking. He came out to repair it. 3 weeks later, the cracking continues and a tile popped free. We consulted with a tile installer who informed us that the job was completed without an underlayment, so the tile would have to be completely removed and reinstalled, for the cost of $1000. When reached out to the contractor again with no response.

Quote was finished and we were sent a link for the financing...or what we were told. The link was for a credit card instead that didn't even cover a third of the cost. Now our credit has been hit for a hard inquiry for a credit card we don't want. Husband tried to call them and was told the person Matt that he needed to speak to was unavailable and would call him back. When he didn't receive a return call, husband called back and was told that Matt left for the day. I called them later and Matt answered the phone and double talked about how the financing was a credit card (he said he discussed that but it was never mentioned at all by anyone there) and that we'd need to call the credit card company to request an increase. Very misleading practices there! If we cannot trust them to be forthcoming why would I trust them in my home with a remodel?!
