First, they give a two hour window to come give a quote. Though I value my time, I'm also in need of a solution and finding landscapers after so much rain is proving hard (side note: when I ask for suggestions, I keep getting ideas of who NOT to call). Second, with other contractors I've gotten the estimate at the same time as the quote. This place said they would email or mail me the quote. Two weeks later I was on a terror about Duke Energy, so I called Dave Vogel and asked for the names of his competitors because I figured he didn't or wasn't able to do the job since he didn't send the quote. He laughed and said he has no competitors because he's the best. I said if that's the case, I would have gotten a quote. Then, I got some run around that it was emailed, but they'd email it again. I'm not sure what kind of technology they use, but I didn't get it that evening and had suggested they just snail mail it since they had the address from visiting my house. At this point I just wanted to see what they suggested because I was thinking maybe I could DIY it. I received the quote 4 weeks after his employee visited my house to give a quote. Terrible. Then, I got a phone asking when I wanted to schedule them. Laughable!

I was in Covington and I needed somewhere that would duplicate keys quickly before I headed back to…read morework downtown. I did not want to drive out of the way to get them, so a quick Google search gave me Acme. Acme is located on the Southern part of Madison in Mainstrasse. They look like they've stood the test of time because the area around them is torn down (hopefully to be rebuilt soon), but they are open and ready for whatever you need. I was only getting a simple key copy so I used the free 10 minutes you get at a meter in the front, but apparently there is complimentary parking in the back. I walked in and a younger gentleman assisted me almost immediately. I told him what I needed and even though they seem to have thousands of different shaped keys, he was able to pinpoint the type I needed and make it quickly. I was in and out within five minutes and I only spent $2.50. I'm sure there are more complicated things they do, but I have faith that they'd be able to assist with your lock and key needs. It may take a little longer than my simple need, but I believe it's important to support local businesses like this one that have been doing a solid job at their craft for decades. If I have any other lock/key related jobs or issues, I'll take the extra time to come over here and have it done by Acme.

It's wild to me that I am here writing a review about a bad experience from 10 months ago that I…read morethought was handled, but has actually come back to haunt me. In June of 2023 I called a contacted Acme through Yelp because I had filled out a "project" request. The request was to unlock a residential doorknob of a basement for a property that I managed. I spoke with Acme on the phone to set up a time for them to come out, at which time they gave me a quote for changing the lock. When the person arrived to change it (Mike), he was unable to get the lock opened and said it would have to be completely removed and replaced with a new lock (after, we were able to contact another locksmith who came out and successfully unlocked the doorknob). This was going to take the visit up to over $300 if they provided a lock. I consulted with the person I managed the property for and they wanted me to buy a lock instead of the using one Acme offered due to the price and inability to complete the job. When I informed Mike of this, he became very short and irritated, asking how long it was going to take, and was very inflexible. I once again consulted with the property manager, and due to the unprofessionalism of Mike, and how much the cost had gone up from the initial quote, he decided not to continue the service with Acme. The property owner contacted Acme, who were apologetic, stated we would not have to pay for the service, said they were "grateful" that I did not write a review of my experience. Now here we are, 10 months later and this week I receive a call from Acme. They said they were "clearing some files," found my invoice and were going to send it to me. This invoice was a $175 charge for a visit and labor fee. They also charge an additional 3% processing fee for payments after 10 days of the invoice. I was never informed of a trip fee that would be charged prior to the visit, or that it was expected to be cash on delivery of service. This is something I assumed would have been established when they gave me the quote. I can adamantly say I do not recommend Acme for locksmith services. The inflexibility of the person who came out to complete the work, the lack of transparency with the charges prior to the visit, and the fact that 10 months later they are now trying to charge me $175 speaks to the lack of integrity within the company.

Outside, the park is incredible. The trails are extremely well maintained, both the wooded paths and the paved ones, making it perfect for an easy walk or a hike. There's also an outdoor fitness trail that I loved. It has different workout stations along the way, and it's actually really fun, not just functional. It's a great way for both kids and adults to be active. There's also a huge playground and a mini water park area for kids, plus accessible bathrooms and good seasonal amenities. It's very family friendly without feeling overcrowded. If you're into disc golf, this place is a gem. There's a large disc golf course, and they even sell discs and gear right inside the nature center. Another thing worth mentioning is how amazing Great Parks of Hamilton County is overall. They offer so many programs like beginner fishing, guided hikes, plant swaps, art workshops, amphibian hunts, and even owl pellet dissections. Not all of these are specific to this park, but many are hosted here, and it really adds to how special the experience is. Overall, this is an extremely pleasant place to spend time. Whether you're walking the trails, working out, bringing kids to play, or just exploring the nature center, there's something for everyone.

These men were at our house in the cold of winter including one day which was below freezing. By laying plastic down on our floors, they were able to keep the dirt out and one day they literally had to heat up the rock before putting it down because it was that cold out. They did this to meet a deadline to us and we really appreciated them. They are the epitome of what customer service should be. We've had big rains since then, so we are confident that our complete needs were met. I have highly recommended them to friends. So far two friends have also used them and are as happy with their work and work ethic as we are. I will continue to recommend them to anybody who has waterproofing needs.
