Last Saturday I got a toothache on a tooth that had been bothering me off and on for awhile. It was…read morefinally bad enough that I knew I needed to do something as quickly as possible. I am new to the area and was referred to this dentist by a coworker. My appointment was over a week out but that was okay because the pain had subsided. Yesterday (Sunday) the toothache came back with a vengeance. I called and left a message at the office around 6pm to ask for an emergency appointment in the morning. I suffered through the night sleeping in 10 minute intervals when the pain subsided from home remedies. By 8:30am Monday I had not heard back from her office so I called. The office assistant whose name I could not understand was the complete opposite of compassionate. I asked if she had received my message and she said yes. And she had the nerve to ask me why I did not go to the ER. I explained that I would rather not have spent hundreds of dollars on something that would likely be fixed by an ER visit. So I asked if they could see me (bear in mind it is painful to talk). She told me I could come in at 2pm. I told her I might call around and see if I can get in somewhere sooner because I am in an extreme amount of pain. She said that even if I came in at 2 it would just be for a consult and doctor wouldn't do any work. I about lost it on this all too important secretary. Sure that may be their policy and I understand such things as policy but first the fact that she did not call me back, then the fact that I had to coax an emergency appointment out of her and now this. That did it. I explained to her that I would be finding someone else to take my probably expensive bad tooth to. She was not fazed. I'm sure this dentist is nice for routine check ups and what not but guess what? Life if full of surprises. Some are good and some are bad. Toothache falls into the bad category and the least I expect from my dentist is a little compassion and a desire to do her job and help.

If you can find a regular doctor elsewhere besides Community Health Center clinic on Blackmore…read moreDrive I would suggest you do it. The urgent care is adequate, they will take care of patients to the best of their abilities, and they will refer you to the hospital if you seem to be in a serious condition. However, seeing the regular doctors, beyond an occasional annual visit is not recommended. Due to a restructuring of the entire clinic in the fall of 2022, with promotion of some individuals to top positions, they have started to issue punitive conditions on those that are of low income, or on disability, as well as those that have no regular, reliable, transportation, or just generally worse off than others. There is proof of Physician Asst and Nurse Practitioner's reports being altered specifically to grant the nursing management carte blanche' to enact procedures that are designed to force "unfavorable patients" to go elsewhere. Rampant lack of communication between departments. Without any warning or prior communication, the family practice NURSING Director will cut off your medication refills without warning, and you as a patient are just left to deal with it. This is your punishment for violating some rule you were not aware having a severe consequence to, such as not being aware that one must call several different receptionists on the same day if you are going to miss an appointment because the reschedule will not be noted and it will be marked as a no show. Patient medication will be targeted. My spouse was put into the hospital because of such reasons. And there is no patient recourse, and of course no one will explain or acknowledge these incidents. Fortunately, the hospital here in Casper, Wyoming is a much better medical facility. And there are other clinics. Zero stars!

She made calls and assured me that they were in the dental network. I made two initial payments of totaling about $400. After a few months had gone by, I received a bill for $467+ . The insurance only paid $38.00 because they were not actually in the network of Trout Dental. Times are difficult financially, which was the reason I preferred a dentist in the network. When I received a threatening letter for payment, I immediately texted the dental office staff were not empathetic nor understanding at all. Today, I received a collection notice. I read other reviews before attempting to write this to find out that this has happened often. My suggestion to anyone going to Brook Trout make sure your insurance is accepted to the fullest otherwise, you will be footing an unexpected bill. Really sad because the Dentist is one of the nicest people to encounter.
