First off I don't do many reviews and when I do they tend to be good. My goal here is to merely…read moreshare my experience Fyi. For years Keplinger's was my go to repair shop. Conveniently located, very clean and impressively maintained. I'm an electronics technician by trade and do some minor maintenance and repairs on my own vehicles. I was concern with a clunking that seemed to be coming from the front passenger side when I hit a bump. When I needed other work I'd ask in a "by the way' fashion, if they would also check for the source of that noise. And every time they'd fix something for between $100-$130, but the noise would linger. I know noise problems can be tricky, so I'd give them the benefit of the doubt, thinking they'll get it the next time. Finally, after 3 or 4 years and may $700 or $800 I mentioned to the receptionist that over the years they never fixed my noise problem. She conveyed it to Scott in the back and he when off. Totally offended, like I insulted his integrity. Ok, at this point I'm not sure if they'd been bilking me or maybe it was repetitive misdiagnosis or incompetence, but I knew I needed a new shop. So, I when to Sears Automotive and they found it to be a lower control arm (worn bushing). Fast-forward to my next vehicle, a couple years later, my emergency brake wasn't holding the weight of the vehicle when parked on a hill. I explained the problem to Scott and he told me that was normal. Any automotive technician knows that without the emergency brake engaged the tiny transmission pawl singularly holds a large portion of the weight of the vehicle and if it should give (which it will eventually) you're looking at big bucks in transmission repair, not to mention possibly collision damage. This time I when to Carmax, they fix it, stating it was stuck, due to stubborn rust. $61.00. We'll, that's my experience. Hope you can gleam from it.

My daughter's Jeep Cherokee was having engine and transmission problems, which she had tried in vain to get diagnosed and repaired at other places. Luckily, by "word of mouth", we found out about Bard's, and we're so glad we did. The guys at Bard's were able to successfully diagnose and fix the problems that other shops couldn't. Moreover, they were a pleasure to work with, always ready to talk with us by phone as the work progressed. As a result, my daughter now has a problem-free Cherokee which runs like new. We are so glad we found Bard's, and we plan to make them our "go to" repair shop in the future.

A persistent squeal that has happened ever since you left the shop a year ago points to an installation issue, missing hardware, or the material of the parts used Reused or Missing Shims/Clips Cheap Pad Material: Low-grade, economy-tier semi-metallic pads contain coarse metal shavings that naturally screech against the rotors If the issue, very aggravating after 800$ Slamming them hard will cause glazing, etc. Too, but I can guarantee that didnt happen, at least by me. Fast forward, this past week..had an oil change..basic stuff... Im then told myvtransmission is slipping real bad and would i like a diag.. Ok, so 220$ later for a level 2 diag ( i came in for an oil change) Im told, you need a whole new transmission, and We dont do transmission repair Ummm huh? Why would you charge me to diag something you dontvwork on...the quality ofvthexwork has become very questionable and at premium prices, I just think it needs attention. The "Dead End" diagnosis: Telling a customer they need a brand-new transmission on a relatively new 2019 model--while simultaneously stating they do not even perform transmission work--is a classic tactic to get you out the door while collecting a steep diagnostic fee. So...theres that, I dont mind spending money on quality repairs and diags, but it seems like everything anymore, its about how much cash can we extract
