DISGRACEFUL Move In: The unit was not ready by the date selected, they needed two additional weeks still didn't utilize their time wisely and tried to push it out further. I lost of week of work unpaid due to this and the unit was still filthy, dangerous, and literally falling apart. A closet door fell on me, I got stabbed by a nail coming out of a hole in a wall, the flooring came up under my foot with fresh glue, the refrigerator had a dead bug and was dirty.... walls dirty, holes in doors, unfinished everything. I do not feel safe here and if a manager would present a unit in this order, its safe to say I should watch my back because she has no regard for me, my child or my pets. When I asked for the number to corporate, the manager told me to Google it and went in her office. I called over twenty times and only got a call back when I told them I was calling the City of Yuma, Dept of Housing and the AGs office. DO NOT MOVE HERE! The manager also tried to gaslight me and blame me for her not being good at her job and prepared after having two additional weeks to get this "corporate unit" together. She never once apologized and did not look at me or speak to me the day of move in, yesterday. And I know why. She was dead wrong and I feel it was purposely done. I feel violated! read more

Living here for 13 months an 1st month I wanted to get out of here. Shootings, To much noise, Nasty office people before, nor hired new ones lets c how that is. Takes for weeks for anyone to fix anything, fire hazard or water leak or health issue or how about smelling smoke in ur own apartment from ppl next to u or below u.. No where in the lease does it say no smoking.. How about thin walls.. U can hear there tv or ppl talking, can't make a payment on phone they will hear you.. How about bug prob? Lots of it.. The pools nasty.. My apartment I was told by the big shot that mine is one of the best here.. You think u live in the good with all the shopping carts or broken glass or blinds hanging in the windows broken or trash around the place an omg it's a mess.. If I was the owner of this place I be pist.. The shootings here two ppl have been killed an one I'm not sure of. Drug dealing I've seen, cops everyday, every morning.. The apartments themselves are decent; however, the rest of the problems you will encounter make this apartment complex not worth it. The majority of the office staff are some of the rudest people I have ever met. They are extremely difficult and unprofessional. When you attempt to tell them about a problem you are having, they try to tell you that you are wrong and delay solution to the problem. The maintenance staff are mediocre at their jobs and also not very professional. Packages are delivered to the office as they will not fit in the mailboxes and are sometimes "lost". If you do decide to sign a lease here, make sure you document every single existing problem with the apartment no matter how small because they will charge you for it when you move out. read more

We had a great experience moving in, one of few rental properties in town that allows pets for short term leases. Great on that part, when we moved out however another story. We gave our 30 day notice as required and I cleaned that 2 bdrm apt from front to back. They only gave us a 200 refund due to dog odor and replacement of carpets... Bullshit, we are clean and those carpets were new when we moved in! My dog is four years old and she is house trained. We know better and when I left that empty apartment it smelled like an old building not a dog. Good luck to the next tenants! The carpets when I left from cleaning and vacuuming were spotless! Rio Santa Fe is under new management and you can really tell the property looks way better and the staff there is super nice always willing to help and listen .they are really fast in fixing any of my problems with my apartment I really recommend them read more

I moved into Rio Santa Fe Apartments last year. At first I enjoyed my apt. It's a two bedroom and I like the layout, high ceilings, and walk in closet. The problems are there's always trash around my apartment building and surrounding area and my upstairs neighbors I can hear crystal clear too. I've complained a couple times about all the noise at 12a-430a and nothing ever changes. I've complained about the trash and that no one cleans up after their pet and still nothing changes. I've noticed kids walking around the community after 11p and hanging out at the playground area. They are loud and obnoxious and have zero respect for the community. Lately, there have also been a couple break-ins and the staff doesn't seem concerned about it at all. I've reported a couple different times about drug activity and that I've seen people are trying to sleep in their laundry rooms or hang around the area and still it's not fixed. Rio Santa Fe sadly is a place I just don't feel safe anymore. On top of everything else their property manager takes forever to return a phone call and when she does she acts like you're wasting her time. My last work order took almost two weeks to get fixed and whenever I asked about it her answer was I don't know. The apartment layout is great, but everything else is not even moderate. I would rather pay more for an apartment with less sq. ft. than to live at a place that makes me feel so unsafe and not welcomed. That's just me though! read more

My name is Jon and I am a retired AF SSgt. I'm also a 60% disabled veteran with a 4 year old autistic son. Starting late April I realized I was not going to be able to pay rent for May or June. So I enrolled in a VA rental assistance program and was approved for 100% rental assistance. Now it took the VA a while to get all the paperwork and rio Santa Fe was notified that I was enrolled in this program and that they would be receiving 100% of the rent/late fees. I personally spoke to the office and so did my VA rental assistance case manager. Even though I did everything the correct way rio Santa Fe evicted my son and I on the second of July. One day later they received the payment for the rent and late fees for the 2 mths I was behind. Even though the apartments received a letter on June 23 2014 I was still throw out on the street and am now a homeless veteran with a 4 year old autistic son. I asked 5 times for a manager or anyone from the property to sit down and speak with me.....they refused. So before you think about visiting this horrible property just know they evicted a 11 yr 7 mth veteran who was in a rental assistance program. read more
