I was genuinely excited for my first appointment at River Landing Dental after moving from North Carolina, where I had been seeing the same dentist since childhood. I scheduled my cleaning weeks ago and took time off work specifically for this visit. After completing the new patient paperwork ahead of time, no one ever mentioned that I would be required to pay for new X-rays--even though I have a recent and complete set on file with my previous dentist and orthodontist. As someone who has worked in the dental field, I know it is standard protocol for the office to request prior X-rays before the appointment. I assumed this was handled when I was sent forms and asked to confirm. Instead, when I arrived early and prepared, I was told I'd have to pay out of pocket for new X-rays. I explained that both of my previous providers have updated records, but they were closed due to the holiday. Rather than offering understanding or assistance, I was pressured and interrogated--even after I explained I might be pregnant and wanted to avoid unnecessary radiation exposure. The staff repeatedly questioned me about my pregnancy concerns, asking inappropriate and invasive questions like "When did you take the test?" and "Why didn't you put that on your form?"--all while continuing to push me to take X-rays, even offering to "double vest" me. That is not how you treat a patient--especially one who just voiced a potential pregnancy and radiation concern. Ultimately, I chose to walk out because I was too upset to continue. I was also told there would be a $50 rescheduling fee, despite the issue stemming from a lack of follow-through on the office's part--not mine. Only after I pushed back did someone "waive it just this once," in a passive-aggressive tone. Frankly, I have no intention of returning after how I was treated. Patients--especially first-timers--deserve to feel safe, respected, and heard. This experience felt rushed, transactional, and invasive. I hope your team will reevaluate how you handle X-rays, patient communication, and concerns around pregnancy and radiation moving forward. read more

Had to get a crown on a back molar. I'm 61 years old and during a cleaning the hygienist called in the dentist. She diagnosed quickly the issue and based on her questions knew a crown was necessary. Today they did the crown work. Both dentist and dental hygienist asked if I was okay during the 2+ hour work. Both kept asking me if this was my worst day. It wasn't and I appreciated they both were concerned. My worst day was 2 August 2006. That's when I was in Fallujah Iraq. I appreciate the care all these people have for us read more

I had an amazing first visit with my Hygienist, Kellen and Dr. Jantz! Both of them were very knowledgeable and professional, and I did not feel pressured by sales whatsoever (which is very important to me)! The office staff was also very friendly and had my insurance verified before I arrived. The office was very welcoming and clean as well! Today was my first visit to this facility as a new patient. It is newly built and the office environment felt really comfortable and safe aside from being very clean and inviting. They have very modern equipment and the X-ray experience is on a different level. This full service clinic even has a television hanging from the ceiling. In addition my dentist was extremely thorough and explained what he was doing every step of the way. This was a big improvement from my previous dentist by far. I highly recommend this business. This most advanced dentist facility I've ever been too. The staff is very friendly and explains every step along the way. Didn't feel lost like with some other dentists in the past. The covid procedures couldn't be more thought through. They have somebody pick you up from the parking lot and take you directly to one of the bright treatment rooms which are accessible from outside and have their own air filter for the treatment. The staff was very friendly. I don't think I received the best cleaning I have ever had. No polishing, no flossing, and no cleaning under my implants. I also had a small filling that I was charged $291.00 for that I think is a little expensive. I probably won't be going back. read more
