River House Psychology blends evidence-based clinical care with a deep understanding of education, child development, and school systems. Founded by Dr. Kim Bowers Yoshino, a licensed psychologist and former elementary school teacher with a master’s degree in education and a PhD in school psychology, the practice brings an educational perspective to clinical care.
With specialized training in special education law and school systems, Dr. Kim considers how emotional well-being, learning, attention, development, family relationships, and the school environment can all intersect.
River House Psychology provides therapy, psychological assessment, parent consultation, and school consultation for children, teens, adults, and families.
Every service is personalized, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change begins with understanding the whole person. By looking beyond symptoms to the broader context of each client’s life, River House helps individuals and families build resilience, strengthen relationships, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
History
Established in 2026.
River House Psychology was founded by Dr. Kim Bowers Yoshino after years of seeing how often people were asked to treat parts of their lives separately. Children could have one story at school and another at home. Adults might seek help for anxiety, attention, relationships, work, or life changes without anyone looking at how those pieces connected.
Kim created River House to look at the whole person, not just one symptom, setting, or diagnosis. The practice offers therapy, psychological assessment, parent consultation, and school collaboration for children, teens, adults, and families in Centennial and the Denver metro area. The goal is simple: understand what is really going on, connect the pieces, and help people move forward with clarity.
Meet the Business Owner: Kim Y.
Dr. Kim Bowers Yoshino is a licensed psychologist and the founder of River House Psychology. She holds a PhD in school psychology and a master’s degree in education, and began her career as an elementary school teacher.
Those experiences shaped the way she sees people: not as a diagnosis or a list of symptoms, but as whole humans whose emotions, relationships, learning, environment, and life experiences all matter. Kim cares deeply about people and believes everyone deserves to be met with respect, curiosity, and genuine care. She is especially passionate about helping people understand the “why” behind what they are experiencing and feel less lost in the process of finding support.
She works with children, teens, adults, and families through therapy, psychological assessment, parent consultation, and school collaboration, bringing warmth, curiosity, and practical insight to each relationship.
