The ice-cream shop area is fabulous. I remember one hot day (a rarity I know!) I treated myself to a double-scoop cone, one blackcurrant and one gooseberry scoop. Wow the blackcurrant was so sweet and refreshing, whilst the gooseberry was so gloriously tart I just wanted to bury my face in it. Absolute ice-cream heaven. The 0700 opening hour is fabulous for me catching a bus at the stop outside at 7.20 on a cold morning it's great to be able to wander in, get a lovely hot latte, and wrap my hands round it to keep warm. Sipping it as I travel I'm pleasantly awake by the time I get to my destination! The serving staff that I have encountered have always been friendly and welcoming and cheerful at that time of a morning it's no mean feat! Hats off to them, and it makes for a very welcoming atmosphere. Mid-morning, when I'm in town on a day off, I sometimes treat myself to a cappucino (lovely huge cup that's more of a bowl!) and just people-watch for a bit, being perfectly situated right in the main market place. It's not the cheapest coffee in town, but franchise prices are pretty standard across the board and it's worth it for a delightful experience and great coffee.
