We had water hook-ups, newly built covered stalls (all 8 horses), and a stock trailer to use to at no additional cost. I can see their continued improvements such as a cute shower house/bathroom. They were only a phone call away, and would come visit and talk to us about their plans and asking our thoughts on how to make things better/different. They also had a refrigerator & freezer available if you needed to buy ice or water. I definitely think they are on the right track for horse people. We were able to ride out from camp on the first day, and the second & third days, we trailered out to other trailheads. With eight riders, we did have to make a couple of trips but it was manageable, and the riding was wonderful and challenging. They are tucked nicely behind a grove of trees. You never know the main rode is just a few yards away. Dog friendly too!

The views are unbelievable and the owners are some of the nicest folks you will ever meet!! This is a place where you can be as active as you want to, walk around the campground and enjoy the beautiful sites or be more adventurous and walk some trails, maybe even hike to the sand cave or white rocks!! We stayed one night and they were SO accommodating with a last minute reservation! We pulled in after dark so I was surprised to see the farm like beautiful setting when waking up the next morning. It was a great stay and I was surprised to see the place so empty! We decided maybe we should stay a second night it was so enjoyable. By the time we went down to the office to pay our site was already reserved for the night, so we would have to move spots. Slightly obnoxious since there were only a handful of sites occupied, but we were late to decide so that's our fault. Ultimately we decided that if we had to pack up to move sites then we might as well get back on the road- and so we did. It was still a beautiful, picturesque and farm setting that was peaceful and quiet plus accommodating! They don't have any 'resort' type amenities but power was water are plenty amenities for us!!

This is directly across from a truck stop and the trucks use their exhaust brakes. Very noisy all night long. Then the first night at 5am, 5:30am AND 6am the trash trucks picked up the trash from all the dumpsters in the area. One after another. The last guy must have been in a bad mood. It sounded like a war zone. If that's not enough I will say the lights all around make it seem like daylight. This park is in the middle of a very populated area.

We wrapped up a week in East TN and stayed here the entire time. We tried getting into Anchor Down…read more(good luck - they book out a year in advance) but would have had to change sites 3+ times in a week to stay there. If you think this RV park is the step sister, think again. While it's not lakefront, it is on a river and offers plenty of activities and grounds for kids, adults, and pets. Food truck on the weekend? Yes, please! Bathhouses and rest rooms are clean and updated. Site was gravel, level, and had full hookups. We could have selected a pull-through site, but preferred to be on the river - no regrets! For the number of folks here, this was surprisingly quiet. Pro tip: make no mistake - this is on the main drag to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and traffic is horrendous on the Parkway. We came toward the end of high season; the weekdays were fine; once Friday morning hit, so did the traffic. Plan accordingly and be aware.

RV and tent camping are both available. It's part of the federal Cumberland Gap National Historical Park. We had non-electric site A-12 which was conveniently near the rest room. It was appropriately sized for us and was on a slight slope; others might need a larger site and to bring leveling blocks. Mid-April was still relatively cold so the campground was quite empty -- and quiet. We were concerned that we might hear traffic from 58 but it was a non-issue. The campground is in Virginia, in close proximity to the point where Virginia, Tennessee, and Kentucky meet. There are many hiking trails nearby, and it's only a few miles from the visitors center for the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park.
