Equivalent to a mediocre Myrtle Beach hotel room, our one bedroom "luxury" apartment complex came equipped with a rusted sink, rusted vents in the bathroom, an abundance of roaches (which after several reports and a strongly worded email to the office staff, along with our own attempts to mitigate) have finally subsided, and, how could I forget...mold?! I've not had allergies in my life and after only having them at home for a year (which is since we moved in) I notified the office and they half-ass remedied the issue. I continue to struggle with allergies and mold keeps continuing to show itself.
Oh and how could I forget that my car got vandalized a few months ago and the staff failed to do anything about it, while also deleting my Facebook post about out because of their failure to acknowledge the incident publicly to the community after my request to do so.
Additionally, as per our lease agreement, the pool deck is supposed to be open all year round. However, with the introduction of COVID, the pool and pool deck was closed for two months (amongst other amenities), without word of when it would be opened. I understand this is a special circumstance, however, there was no reduction in our rent which included all of the above listed amenities. Now, that the pool has finally been half/ass opened, it's closed on Sundays and 'closes' at 3:30 on Saturdays when most of its residents work Monday through Friday. They enforce the Saturday closure at 3:30 on the dot and threaten to call law enforcement if residents don't leave and the staff is fairly disrespectful about it. Given, near the back
of our 20-30 page lease agreement it passively states that amenity hours can change/amenities can close, this is haphazardly mentioned long after the amenities and their hours are listed in the lease. It almost seems to be a "bait and switch" scenario.
The best part is, we were emailed about our lease renewal and they want another $100-200 a month if we choose to renew .
This is essentially false advertisement of a "luxury" apartment complex as far as I'm concerned. If we renew, it will only be out of connivence as we don't plan to be here any longer than we have to be.
I will say that (for the most part) the office staff do their best to be accommodating and (aside from the pool issue) have been very kind overall. I do think that this is generally more of a corporate issue and when it comes to the pool scenario, at least, they are generally between a 'rock and a hard place' on that.
The community itself is beautiful and inviting, and again, the staff is generally kind and helpful, but I fail to find anything positive beyond that from my experience. read more
