They have a nice variety of food options but so far we are hooked on chicken tacos. They are $4/taco which to some people might seem like a lot. However, im still willing to pay this amount of money because they are that good. I tried tacos from a restaurant with Michellin star and they were actually not as good. They have salsas, cilantro, chopped onion, limes and other goodies to go with the tacos. Give them a try!

The food is good but I'm not sure it's $4/taco good for a pop up stand. I tried the al pastor, lengua, and cabeza. The cabeza was my favorite of the bunch. The lengua was tender but bland. Al pastor was good but I expected a little more flavor?

So... Let me start by saying, I love Tacos. I mean who doesn't, right? I love all Tacos, truthfully…read moreespecially vegan or plant-based Tacos. However; occasionally I'll skip my plan-based ways, and give new places a try. I stopped by El Atoron, mainly because I was working in the area, and I was driving by. Once there, I was met by 2 kids, and 1 older, whom I believe was the older brother taking my order. I ordered the Asada, and lengua (tongue) , 3 Tacos in total. The two ladies working the kitchen, automatically asked me if I wanted my tortillas "hechas a mano?" (hand made) tortillas (corn tortillas). which I replied Yes, of coarse-please! The 3 Tacos took a bit longer to make, which I'm totally ok with, and after receiving them, I naturally noticed how these two ladies literally create their Tacos with Love and Passion. You can just see it, promise! The proteins were both cooked exceptionally well, and not over seasoned. I always order my Tacos "con todo" which means with everything, onion, cilantro, and salsa, I ordered green salsa with mine. So, I'll end it with this. I eat a lot of Tacos, everywhere I go, I have to try the local Tacos, some are good, some are great, and once in a while, you get some that just do not make an impact on your findings. Although... and this is big although, I Loved these Tacos so much, I took the time to write a review about them. In my honest opinion, and of course, this is subjective, these are some of the best Tacos in all California just to give them a baseline. I'll be going back more often than not.

Slightly overpriced since there is no table service. Parking is less than ideal as well since it's central to Santa Cruz but that's expected. Maybe the best part is the fact that everyone in your group can find something to eat (even if it's not Belly Goat) since there are several options in Abbott Square. This is what the US should look like. People of all ethnicities enjoying food from all over the world (I know, I know, I got a burger lol). But everyone just chillin', enjoying great weather and good food. Highly recommend a stop here

If you're a cow eater, this is your place. My husband devoured his Cowboy Burger ($18.00). He…read morethought the burger was juicy and prepared perfectly with paired toppings. The Lost Boys ($6.75)(garlic fries) were perfection. The fries are separate from the garlic confit and herbs provided in an Individual container. The garlic was well balanced in flavor, far from being overwhelming, fresh and so satisfying when paired with the fries. The Ahi Burger ($15) was not my favorite. The brioche bun was soft and toasted slightly, the slaw was crunchy and flavorful, the burger itself needed flavor. It felt like an afterthought rather than a main highlight of this dish. If we return, I would try the Forager ($14) a portobello, avocado mash burger I missed on the menu.

Nuggets needed a bit more seasoning but the fries were hot and fresh with a good amount of salt. Extra stars for staff who dealt with a super-rude customer.
