The person who told me they couldn't do it rudely said "nobody here does that type of sh!t. So you need to look around for another tattoo shop. Red flag #2. Then that same person told me to look through the book for other designs and their selection was basically something you'd see on one of the devil's rejects. Flag #3. My fiancé still went walking to add to his tattoo. He wanted a meander pattern and shaded areas to his already existing tattoo. Ya know, to bring it out more. AND THIS IS WHAT HE GOT. If I could give no stars I would. My tattoo was not simple. But still I had to wait 2 hours. Then the manager says send him a text and such because it is a difficult tattoo. He seemed to be turned off from me in some way... I was rude but wouldn't you be after 2 hours of waiting then he promises that if I text picture to him he would get back. It's been 2 weeks and I keep texting and yet no response. It's like they really don't want business. If you want any easy tattoo probably this would be the shop. I'm not a 19 year old. If I want a tattoo it has to have meaning. There whole treatment of me sucked I know I can do better. Good luck you a**es. read more

It's clear these tattoo artist are super basic !!! I have several tattoos (large and detailed)!! I would absolutely not recommend this location in Southpark Mall. For the work that is preformed it looks like something a beginner would draw in somebody's kitchen. read more

went in on friday, it's now tuesday, and my tattoo is quickly fading away. yes i know tattoos fade but not like this, i do have other tattoos so i know how to properly take care of one, it just seems my artist (Shorty was his name) maybe didn't go deep enough? i'm not too sure. How's it going peeps. I hope all is well whomever is reading this review. I've gone to this place twice. First time was a decent experience and I was content. The second time I came in. I was hoping to get a LGBTQ Straight Ally tattoo on my wrist in honor of my LGBTQ friends. Upon showing what I wanted to the girl at the front desk, she seem very hesitant and went to ask one of the tattoo artist. After a minute the artist comes up to me. He was this crusty bald old man with shitty tattoos and gauges. He basically was trying to bullshit me and not do the tattoo unless it was bigger. Just by the look on this guy's face and what was coming out of his mouth, he came across very passive aggressive and I could obviously tell he was homophobic. He kept trying to say he couldn't do it unless I get it X 5 bigger (which would cost way more) This is not what I wanted and he kept trying to pressure me. Which didn't work because he's an idiot. It's one thing to refuse to do a tattoo based of personal opinions but its another thing when you try to make a point by criticizing tattoos somebody has to make a shitty point. Not only did this guy show me show he was incompetent about tattooing, his attitude was total shit, and he was clearly homophobic. This asshole needs to be fired ASAP. I normally don't write yelp reviews but this one is needed. This place gets a lot of business especially from service members (which I happen to be). The U.S Military is filled with many LGBTQ individuals and supporters. As a straight ally, I can only imagine what the experience would be like for someone other than straight. These guys are making a killing off us and don't even give a shit about none of you. They are just here to take money from young service members who don't know any better. Take your time, do your research, and go somewhere else. If you are LGBTQ or a supporter, stay clear of this place. I came into the parlor a couple days prior to set the appointment and brought a couple examples of what I wanted. Walked into river city tattoo looking to get a piercing and the man up front was very rude as soon as we walked in. Continued to have us repeat what we wanted to get pierced and told me the price. He then asked for my id, walked to the back and brought out a sheet of paper and told me "fill this out". I ended up backing out of the process because I felt uncomfortable and awkward and let him know I was no longer interested. He then proceeds aggressively take the paper out of my hand and says "i don't care, whatever". It was very disappointing because my friend recommended this place for piercings and the brief experience I had was extremely discouraging. I have received 2 tattoos from river city that I absolutely love, however I walked in to get a price and gave them an idea of what I was wanting he wouldn't give me a price saying that he can't do that because then I'd go somewhere else and get it done. Obviously I wanted them to do it or I wouldn't have been there getting a quote so I'd know how much to expect to spend. I went into river city to have a smaller tattoo done . I had an okay experience while in there other than feeling like my tattoo was rushed . Also when i got home and the swelling went down, I realized just how bad the lines are crooked and my color is splotchy. Also not to mention he colored outside of the area that he was coloring in. I have 10 tattoos overall and this is by far the worst! I have had several tattoos done here with great reviews but I will never use them for a tattoo again! read more

I got my seconds on my lobes pierced here a month ago. I was in and out in a half hour without an appointment, and my piercer was great. Kind of pricey-- $45 for the basic jewelry-- but worth it in the long-run. Would go here again! read more

We visited River City for a nose piercing for my daughter. She saw Lynn. Lynn was great with her. She was calming and quick. She gave my daughter detailed instructions on what to use while it was healing and how to tale care of it. My daughter explained she would have to take it out for sports. Lynn showed her how to put the retainer in and how to clean the jewelry. I was very happy with our experience and would totally recommend it. read more
