If I could give this scammer 0 stars I would. Leo the breeder claims to be breeding show dogs. First of all he's not even active in the show ring. He sells puppies with severe hip dysplasia at an astronomical price. A friend of mine had to have her puppy euthanized at 6 months because the surgery would cost $18,000.00 to correct. He didn't give them a refund either. None of his dogs or breeding dogs have OFA clearance to prove that they are free of hip dysplasia. He claims that the contract he guarantees the health of the puppy. But what good is the contract if he doesn't honor it and uses it to use it to scam buyers? read more

Very impressed with the dogs out of RCR. We spent so much time researching our next pet and ultimately knew this breeder was focused on quality and maintaining the breed, not just selling us a dog. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. We loved the experience of picking out our new family member in person. We had the pleasure of meeting our puppies parents and even playing with them individually while we were there at their home. The dogs were very well behaved, obedient, and beautiful. Purchased a puppy from River City Rottweilers and 8 mos later this puppy went into cardiac arrest early in the morning and unfortunately passed away. I notified Leo of the unfortunate incident to see if the mother had heart issues but was told that wasn't the case. In addition, Leo did offer a replacement but as you can imagine the family wasn't ready after losing an incredible puppy literally that morning. A few mos later (Oct-Nov)contacted Leo via text about being ready and he replied that it wouldn't be until spring at the earliest. It is important to note that he has you sign a doc stating that he isn't responsible for the dog once it leaves the property so my wife and I were hesitant and discussed that with him but he ASSURED us that it was just a formality and that they would replace the dog if something transpired so we proceeded forward but with obvious hesitancy. Fast forward into Spring and no contact from Leo so I reach out only to find out that he has decided not to replace the puppy because now it is only a goodwill gesture bc paperwork says that he is not responsible. Don't be fooled by this breeder! Ironically, I have contacted (5) other breeders who all stated that every ETHICAL/RESPECTABLE breeder would have provided a choice of refund or choice of another puppy but none would have STOLEN the money provided and asked for the name so they could ensure to spread the word about an unethical breeder. Unfortunately, writing this doesn't bring back the puppy that was lost but should serve as a notice of the type of breeder that you are dealing with when you make your decision. Don't be fooled by the "God Bless" on the website because their fake hearts and true intentions showed out when it was time to do the right thing. read more

I don't recommend this breeder at all shortly after we bought a puppy from them we were contacted by other people on Facebook who warned us about rivercity and not to buy, within weeks after we had our new puppy she started having seizures and cost us thousands of dollars up until this point plus the hip dysplasia she has is horrible on top of everything she also has Thyroid problems all of this is a result of poor genetics from what other breeders have told me... them getting away from the breed standards trying to increase to size of the dogs! We have spent north of 10k in medical bills for a 1500 dog. She is now 6 years old and we are talking about putting her down because of the cost of the medical bills! read more

The worst breeder!! Do not get puppies from this guy. He is as friendly as can be until he gets your money, then he turns into a hateful human. He mistreats his puppies, they are kept in dirty unsanitary housing, he leaves them outside in weather and heat and when I was there looking at the puppies they had explosive diarrhea, I had to tell him twice that they had diarrhea thinking he would immediately move them, but instead he just moved the enclosure they were in while they were still in it stepping in their feces. The puppies coward at him whenever he would reach for them and they acted very scared. When I was there looking at puppies it was raining and he just left the puppy sitting by herself in the rain getting soaked, he didn't even offer to let me spend time with her out of the weather, when I did ask if he had a dry cool place he said no. BIG RED FLAG he said you can go on the porch with the puppies, but it was so hot out and the puppies were miserable just looking for some place cool to get. I just put my dog down yesterday. I got her from River City Rottweilers at the recommendation of a friend. What a mistake. The dog I got was in training to be a service dog. She was xrayed a few weeks ago and her left hip was already bone on bone and the right hip was going to be failing soon. She stopped eating and for the last few weeks all she would eat were boiled eggs, if she ate at all. I tried everything from bacon grease on her food, hotdogs, peanut butter, plain rice, pumpkin, scrambled eggs, tuna, salmon. Nothing worked. She was slowly starving to death before my eyes. I got her into the vet yesterday afternoon and they did blood work and I was told that her kidneys were failing and there was nothing that could be done. We could make her comfortable and put her down and let her be in peace. I opted to put her down and get her out of her misery. She was a skeleton of a dog and I could tell she was suffering. I have reached out to River City Rottweilers and the initial response was they would get me another puppy. I asked that if they did give me another puppy, it not be from either of the parents Hope (my dog) had. I have not heard anything. This is not the first time they have been contacted about defective puppies. What a sad organization. They sell them for a huge amount of money and then do not ensure proper breeding and ignore customers with legitimate issues. What a horrible organization. I totally understand why people dislike breeders. If you are considering a dog from these guys, take your money somewhere else. Make sure you can walk around the facility and see the conditions where the dogs are kept and the area where the puppies are kept. These guys only care about money. read more
